I actually get that a lot while working. I would think that some idea would work wonders, only when it comes time to write it, I don't know how to work it. Fortunately, with the idea I got today, I came up with a way to make it work in my fanfic. Other plans I came up with this week failed, but this one didn't. Which I'm glad about, since I've been wanting to follow this idea in the deep part of my subconscious for a few years.

I am in agreement with Saff. (Bad Saff, telling the members what to do! No Capri Sun for you! *shakes finger before getting down off soapbox* Wow, how old is that thing? xD) Sometimes, if you keep mentioning the lack of reviews that you're getting, it just makes people less likely to review. Because we're bitter vindictive people, to borrow some description from Jax. Just be patient and a review will come.

Except for poor TurtleKing. At some point, someone should really review his fic. ;; Like, seriously.

Right now, though, I want to get started on my little project of picking apart Eragon. This will be rather fun and interesting.

Oh, and DP479? Glad you also saw the light as well about another place. =) *hugs*

The problem with coming up with something awesome and trying to implement it is that you rewrite the chapter five times (in my case) before you get a version that you like. It's seriously taken me three weeks to get this thing formulated, and I still have to actually write the darn thing. Oh how my readers are not liking me at the moment...

Oh, and I want to hear about that Eragon thing. I'm re-reading it atm, and I've caught a few issues, but it's still holding together well.

I agree on the review begging, as it's starting to get annoying. Naturally I shouldn't be one to talk as I already asked for reviews here twice, which really isn't like me but hey, I reworked that One-Shot JUST for this place, I'd at least like to know if I did it well and HOW much better it can be and IN WHAT WAY.

Because I'm a perfectionist when it comes to stories and can't stand being told that something I did was perfect or I'm not told how it could be better. Because it's nowhere near perfect! ;;

Why me?

I mean, I'm trying to get pe2k to get a better ff... But no, I'm a noob they shouldn't listen to...

I'm gonna kill Neo Pikachu...
PE2K is aimed at a younger member audience, and their FF section is pretty bad, no matter what, mainly because there's just sucha huge lack of proper reviewers and most writers ignore anything decent said. Because so many of them are young. >>

And honestly, do you think that you as one single person will be able to change the mentality of an entire forum section? It won't happen; people don't want to be changed, and if you try you probably won't get much more than anger. I'm going to post my fic on PE2K and maybe I'll review every so often, but other than the URPG I'm not doing much there because it's just not for me. XP

:O YEEEEES! *hi-fives* When you finish that, I want to be the first to read it! Ohhhhhh how I do detest that fandom and do love all those who will pick it apart and attempt to show its flaws! *waves fist in the air*

What may prove to be helpful is Anti-Shur'tugal: that site is absolutely amazing, but since they switched domains they seem to be missing a bunch of articles. Regardless, if you intend to do a project like that, I heavily advise that you have a look. ^^

*joins in the fist-waving* Oh yes. I have Anti-Shur'tugal open in another tab, and I joined the LiveJournal community of that site. Doing this project just kind of popped into my mind the other day for no real reason, and I went searching for those sites again. Now I have inspiration to read through that book again, and I hope not to want to drive "hot bamboo into my tender eyeballs" while reading it. It was horrible to get through the first time and I couldn't figure out why. (I thought it was because the plot moved slow, but then I realized "Hey! My favorite book isn't a fast-paced book. What's wrong with this blue brick?" Now I'm going back and answering that question for myself.

I'm starting tonight. :3 Wish me luck.

Really? I might have to go back and reread the old version and then read the new version to see how it changed. All I remember about the old one, and what was bad with it, were some typos that I pointed out to you. But that's all that I remember. x.x

Try nine, which is what happened to me. Edition eight wasn't horrible, but edition nine had a big change to it which forced it to be edition nine. Edition nine hasn't been started yet, because I'm still working out the kinks, which was the problem with editions one through seven.

You think not? I'm of the opinion that one person, posting intelligently and encouraging others to do likewise, can cause a surprising amount of change. Will it take a fair number to permanently shift the mentality of a forum? Of course. But it has to begin with one.

And just think--how many people say they've changed since interacting with you? And how many have simply grown more mature by being around people who act in a mature fashion? I've seen quite a few, myself. We can't all be n00bs forever, can we?

PE2k actually used to have quite a handful of good authors and I used to read a few great fanfiction stories there. It seems now many of the good ones left. I am trying my best to give out at least decent reviews but I have been busy with school and such. >.> On the other hand, all young authors start out somewhere, right? XD

I have actually looked at that Anti-Shur'tugal site a few months ago one day while waiting for work. XD There were a couple of pointers I learned about writing. Urgh...still hadn't read that book yet. Don't know if I should, hearing that it is really bad. On the other hand, maybe I can learn on how not to write?

For the record, I did, but deleted it... Not on purpose, obviously.

It's aimed at a younger audience? I didn't know that...

But it isn't just me - I've teamed up with kecleonfan666 (he's writing a fanfic here, though it's being ignored, but he is one of my better friends on the two forums) and Kittengirl2000 (we're like, this close) and the moderator, Neo Pikachu, has sorta left everything to us... But Ryan (the administrator) is dead, not really, he just hsan't logged in in two months and therefore us three cannot be promoted...

But I'm getting somewhere...

Oh, and thanks for the support.

Hey! Someone has been influenced by my fic!

Their fic is called "Pokemon Manga Special: Legends of Cyan!"

They've even almost duplicated parts of my intro!

Is this influence or plagerism?

Kinda inbetween. The beginning part seems almost exactly like mines, but the rest is different.

I'm ok with it, but it is kinda annoying me. XD

EDIT:

Judge for yourself

Theirs: "It was a beautiful, sunny day in the Cyan region the Chatots were singing. The Starly were flying and the Magikarp swimming like it was the end of the world. Yes , Not so many days appear like this in the Region of Cyan, Not many days at all. Inside a house sleeping was a boy named Abalon.e"

Mines: "It is a beautiful, bright morning in the town of Twinleaf. Up in the cyan blue skies, fly a flock of Starlies, chirping soothingly as they glide overhead. Yes, this is the region of Sinnoh; a mountainous region. All seemed calm and perfect outside. However, inside a local house, was a whole different story."

Notice the use of cyan in mines. But it's ok, though. I'm actually flattered.

Sounds like he just twists your words a bit.

Bt at least that means he thinks your a good writer.

If you're flattered, you're weak... I'd advise you to PM him and make him edit it...

After all, if someone here wrote a fanfic entitled: Harry Motter and the Goblet of Pyre - would JK Rowling just go: 'you stole my book, I'm flattered'.

I think we both know the answer to that...

TurtleKing, I think I'll review yours once I get this Cyan guy outta the way.

Ack, don't want to be seen as weak. I just don't want to be too harsh, because lord knows if I speak my mind, it'll be....eh...BAD.

No, here, PM me... This is so obviously plagerism that is isn't even funny...

You are annoyed, that's sort of clear...

So you have two options, PM the person and tell him to edit

or

PM hanako, it'd be harsh... But sort of funny for me to watch....

Oh, and can you PM me? I need to ask you something completely off topic.

I've already PM the person.

I'll PM hanako and sure, I'll PM you.

Finally got around to posting Reviewing and You, only with more explainy goodness and snark as preserved as it can be.

On another note, hurrah for the end of NaNo! I'm getting back into Midsummer Knights (which is sadly under-reviewed at the moment and possibly three or four pages back by now), but I can't quite say when Act Eight will be out. I'm aiming for next week (because for once, my professors aren't trying to kill me), but no guarantees.

Also, Turtle, I'll agree with Skii and PM Hanako. Plagiarism sucks, so surely, there's something that can be done in a fanfiction forum to generally discourage it. I mean, at other sites and fic communities I go to, plagiarism automatically gets your story locked or, yeah, deleted by staff. Given PC's standards, surely they'd have some sort of policy concerning ripping off someone else's story as well. =/

I find "Reviewing and You" very helpful. I'm new to reviewing and I needed that tutorial. Thanks Jax.

Anyway, the next chapter of Poke Special Manga: DP is in the works!
