    So, fellow supporters, what genre(s) of music do you like? Do you prefer certain genres over others? Is there a few songs that define a genre for you? List them!
     
    Rock, pop, pop rock, 80's, soooooome disco. :P

    i like a lot but I mostly stick to rock! :D
     
    J-Pop probably the most.
    Nowadays I only tend to listen to anime OP/ED or game OST and J-Pop is the most prominent there.
     
    Mostly Drum & Bass and game OST's, but i basically listen to anything as long as i like it.
     
    Personally I like all kinds of music. On that note, however, I only like very specific songs in the different genres, although there's something in every genre I thoroughly enjoy.

    My favourite genre right now would probably be IDM, but I haaaaate that as the name of a genre because it's so pretentious and makes the people who enjoy it sound like they think they're better than you. So I just go with "electronic" even though that's a wide genre with a lot of stuff I don't listen to in it, haha.

    That said, it doesn't mean that just because my favourite genre is IDM that's the only music that I listen to. I listen to more or less whatever I'm in the mood for. There's quite a bit of ambient, electro, psychedelic or straight-up indie in there too. Woo.

    every genre, you say? That's not even a nearly comprehensive list too. d:
     
    I like alternative rock, pop punk and practically anything. XD The only thing I don't like is rap or hip-hop. I love oldies music and country because I kind of grew up with that stuff. However, I'm quite picky with the bands I like. My number one favorite band of all is Simple Plan. These guys have literally saved my life. I swear I would not be here if it hadn't been for them.
     
    For many years I been listening to Metal - subgenre: Death Metal, Thrash Metal, & Viking/Folk Metal. The heavier the more complex the better. The band I listen to the most right now is Týr.

    Do you prefer certain genres over others? - I listen to a lot Viking/Folk Metal the most, such as Ásmegin, Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Metsatöll, Týr, Skámöld, Vintersorg

    Is there a few songs that define a genre for you? If I where to mention a few:
    Death Metal - "Hammer Smashed Face" by Cannibal Corpse, "God of Emptiness" by Morbid Angel

    Thrash Metal - "Raining Blood" by Slayer, "Master of Puppets" by Metallica, "Sweating Bullets" by Megadeth

    Viking/Folk - "Thorsteins Kvæði" by Týr, "Finnish Medley" by Ensiferum, "Sorg" by Skálmöld, "Til Rondefolkets Herskab" by Ásmegin, "Kotkapojad" by Metsatöll


    before I forget - I tried listening to other genres of music, but they where to slow and boring for me - made me fall asleep, so I stayed with Hard Rock & Metal, needed something 'heavy' to wake me up
     
    For me its mainly Symphonic Metal, progressive metal, power metal, old-school metal, some thrash.. and a bit of classic and hard rock thrown in for good measure.

    Soundtracks. I swear, I don't know what happened over the past year or so but songless music from movies and games are seriously what I mostly listen to nowadays. I'm so weird, hi :D
     
    I found myself listening to lots of electroninc and house progressive music lately. Besides I love 80's, good rap music and rock/metal.
     
    I personally can listen to almost any kind of music ranging from any date but my favorites due to my age and generation would have to be Horrorcore. People like Twizitid, ICP, Hopsin.
     
    No specific genre but I find myself listening to edm a lot

    Country and Rock are my two top genres. I love me some KISS, Depeche Mode, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Thompson Square, and many others.
     
    Used to listen to rock. Then started listening to industrial, melodic death and thrash metal.

    As of now, though, I only listen to anime osts. Openings/EDs and soundtracks. Typing this while listening to this:



    so yeah, presently - jpop for the most part.

    I listen to old school RB (50's - 90's), select hip-hop and rap, classic rock (60's- 80's), J-Rock, J-pop, TONS of songs used for anime, Jazz (I play sax so I love it dearly), and video game soundtracks (especially pokemon!). My taste in what I want to hear does change depending on setting and mood but I listen to all of these at least once a day
     
    I'll listen to literally anything as long as I like it. I am not drawn to classical or rave music at all though.
     
    I'll listen to pretty much anything except rap and hip hop. Sorry, but I just can't stand them. Some of my favorite genres include:
    Rock
    (A little bit of) Metal
    Soundtrack
    Jazz
    Dubstep/Electronic (for dancing)
