I like most types (although Bug and Poison are "catch only what you need" types for me). My top 5 favorite types:
5. Steel (That high Defense and Poison immunity is a life-saving combination; I go out of my way to catch/breed a few favorite Steel-type species "just in case" ).
4. Grass (Lots of beautiful, graceful Pokémon with decent healing moves -- Roselia's move-pool and looks put it on my "must catch/breed" list, despite the secondary Poison type.)
3. Water (Very versatile; the four Water-type HMs have won a lot of gym battles for me and helped me get around afterwards. Wailmer and Goldeen learning a usually-HM move by leveling up is a big plus. Now, if only some Water-type could learn Surf by leveling up; Lapras should, being the Transport Pokémon!)
2. Fairy (Cute doesn't have to mean helpless; look out, Dragon specialists! {XD} The David-and-Goliath relationship between two "mythical creature" types was one of Game Freak's brighter ideas; they even gave Fairy Pokémon a weakness to Steel, consistent with Western folklore.)
1. Normal (Sometimes, less is more...the simplest type in terms of strengths and weaknesses, and one of the easiest types to find. And, of course, Teddiursa's a pure Normal-type! D'awww...)
