The Grande Season Finale:

Twilight Sparkle is starting to become fully aware about her alicorn princess status not being a big deal throughout the whole season, and is feeling really disappointed about her role. Luckily, the other alicorn princesses are there to cheer her up in song form *cue fans screaming to hearing Luna sing for the first time*. Meanwhile, we have witness the return of Tirek, the original antagonist of the MLP franchise. He's manipulated the master troll, Discord, back to the dark side to help him gain back his powers, only to eventually backstab him and steal his powers away too. The battle between Twilight and Tirek was epic, as both were equally matched, thanks to the princesses giving their powers to Twilight to hide them from Tirek. While it was inevitable that the Rainbow Powers would defeat Tirek in the end, but at least he's still alive to escape another day, for the comics and fanfics of course. And Discord has been forgiven after his betrayal. With Twilight's library gone, she now has a new castle to replace it.

I wonder if this club will still be active as we wait for Season Five.

aaaaghh this one was great

The action/fighting scenes in this episode were epic and not the kind of thing I expected from the show. Twilight put on quite a fight and it was very amusing watching her struggle to control the excess magic she received. It keeps surprising me in such good ways. (: What got me was Discord towards the end, though, since he finally admitted that he appreciates his friendship with the mane ponies and thyhthtsggs then he gave Celestia bouquet in the end. Discord x Celestia shippers can die happy, ehe.

@Murkmire: you definitely should; it keeps getting better and more adorable.

I really liked parts of this episode, especially the Dragon Ball-esque fight scene between Tirek and Twilight. Just like Janna, it definitely wasn't the kind of thing I was expecting to see in a show like this, but that made me enjoy it even more. I also love anytime Discord shows up, these episodes being no exception. Even though he had a moment of weakness in siding with Tirek, he showed that he truly does care for the ponies both early on with Twilight's journal, and once again when Tirek turned on it. Either that, or he had it planned all along, and he's just that good at playing the fool with Tirek (why should we expect anything less from the embodiment of chaos?).

Oh, and while only kind of from the episode, I had a good laugh when I saw this...

I do kind of feel that I jumped on board this whole thing at the wrong time though- now we have to wait until sometime in 2015 for Season 5. Though, I guess we will be getting Rainbow Rocks between now and then.

For a minute, I thought Luna singing sounded like Rarity. Tabitha St. Germain should be singing as Rarity more often. Then I found out Kazumi Evans also voiced Luna singing. xD

Okay, after sitting down and watching the entire thing after 5mins of download, I have to say it was great. I can't explain how amazing the writers and Studio B team really did, no words can truly explain my feelings.

In all honestly, I think the 'return' of Tirek was great. I, for one, loved the G1 and seeing this was icing on top of the season finale cake called Season Four. The DBZ styled fight between Twilight and Tirek was amazing as well, and we can see how the 'Rainbow Rocks' thing it going to play a part from this finale.

So all in all, this episode did its job. It was a Twilight focused episode, it was a season finale and it had a very impressive villain role filled. While not perfect, it was as great as it could be (in my opinion).

This episode gets a 9.5/10.

After today's episode of MLP:FIM, Twilight's Kingdom, So many have jumped on the Discord hate wagon. "After a betrayal like that, he doesn't deserve to have friends!" they say, but how narrow minded they are. If they had paid attention, they would realize that Discord masterminded the whole thing.

Let's examine what we know from the episode. It opens with Twilight feeling like a useless princess. It is revealed that Discord was chosen to hunt down Tirek because he has a sophisticated magic radar. Using this, discord was able to figure out where and what the keys were, and he also knew what was inside the box. He also knew Twilight was the only one who did not get her key yet.

Everything is in place, and it's time for Discord to put his master plan into action. Discord is very, very old, and clearly had past dealing with Tirek, so he is aware of Tirek's character and personality. Discord pretends to fall for Tirek's temptations and to trust him. As Tirek absorbs more and more magic, Discord knows the princesses would have to pool their magic to have a chance of defeating him. Naturally, twilight, being the element of magic, would be chosen as the focus. It's no coincidence that Discord just happens to leave a single window unaltered in the castle, the one depicting a 4th princess.


Now, Discord has to keep up the appearance of genuinely betraying his pony friends, not only to fool Tirek, but to fool Twilight. He puts up a very convincing act when he is "suddenly and unexpectedly" betrayed. Remember when he revealed such very specific information about the keys earlier? It's no coincidence that he just happened to be the one to give twilight her key. Let's take a look at the other keys. The Mane 6 pony learns a lesson and receives a related item from another pony after they both learned a lesson about that specific element. But what does the other pony matter? It's not like they are linked to the elements of harmony at all. The magic of the keys must come solely from their respective Mane 6 pony. This ensured that when Discord gave Twilight the amulet, that she would turn it into a key, even though Discord didn't actually have to learn anything. And now, with that key, they open the box and use the powers within (which Discord knew about) to defeat Tirek. Twilight gets her own kingdom and feels useful again. All discord has to do is not gloat and take credit.


Let's recap: Discord plays the fool, and pretends to betray his friends and be suddenly backstabbed, all as part of his master plan to simultaneously defeat Tirek, restore Twilight's confidence, and get her a kingdom of her own.

Hello! I am a new person come to join your club. Ponies are all I ever draw these days and all people wanna see out of me. And whilst I'm not the biggest fan of the show, it's still nice for a good bit of entertainment. Particularly the Season Finale.

Your Favorite Pony of the Mane 6: Applejack

Additional Information: I like Applejack because she is what I aspire to be. Fluttershy was once my favorite pony due to a beautiful design (which still holds up, but I also love Applejack's design) and having an accurate depiction of shyness in the earlier episodes. But now, Applejack. She's calm and just that sort of pony I'd like to hang around. In a mind of neurosis like mine, I need a sane mare to hang around. Also, her color scheme includes red, my favorite color. And she has TWO accessories. I have a thing for ponies with accessories. My ponysona has three. Also, I really like her mane. No seriously, I do.

I got into MLP funnily enough from another Pokemon forum. People were blabbing about it and had avatars everywhere. It was quite jarring. Somebody posted a link to an episode and I decided to give it a look. The first episodes weren't that great, but I was entranced anyway. Could not stop watching for reasons I still don't quite understand to this day. I was entertained and that's all that mattered. Also, whilst I at first hated the art style, it grew on me tremendously and is now one of my favorites that I try to emulate on a day-to-day basis and succeed with relatively decently after several years practice. In fact, the art style is one of the best things about the show in my opinion and the reason I'm still kind of active in the fandom. The rest, as they say, is history.

Now, for my thoughts on the Season Finale... I thought it was good. Not as great as Canterlot Wedding, which is my favorite episode of all time. But much better than Magical Mystery Cure. To go into spoiler-y territory:

Part of the reason I didn't like it so much was that the pacing, as in many MLP episodes that try an epic story, was too fast near the end. Canterlot Wedding in my opinion is the only one that had semi-decent ending pacing. It was much better than Magical Mystery Cure because they actually had time to do things, but to just see Tirek defeated all of a sudden by horribly-designed rainbow ponies (wow, that sounds so ridiculous out of context) was a bit jarring. Especially considering all the build-up we had about his character as this evil end-all villain. Also, the episode was a bit too Twilight-centric for my liking. Sure, it focused on the Mane Six as a whole for various moments, but I still felt as though it was more on Twilight and her Princesshood than their friendship. And it makes little sense because her Princesshood is BASED on friendship, so this should've been a more ensemble episode.

Other than those issues, I enjoyed the battle sequence thoroughly It was violent and nothing I'd ever expect out of My Little Pony. The whole way through, I had chills and felt so satisfied by the scope and power of the attacks. To see an alicorn actually USING all that magic for offensive purposes, high-energy beams blasted with intense force... it was deeply satisfying. It was, simply put, epic. And my favorite part of the episode.

As for Discord, he was all right. But I felt they forgave his betrayal a bit too quickly. In comparison to their reaction to him, that is. At first, every was super upset and angry at him for rightfully being a bit of a jerk. That includes the Mane Six and Twilight. Then he gets his powers drained and they turn around and forgive him all of a sudden. I guess they could've just been sympathetic that he was betrayed by Tirek and felt bad for him for having his expectations of friendship from the guy derailed, but I kind of saw it as being his just-desserts for teaming up with such an untrustworthy fellow in favor of his friends.

Oh well, though. I know I'm overthinking things. It was still an awesome episode and pretty much satisfied and answered many things. It addressed that Twilight has basically been doing nothing the whole season and foreshadows more significant princess duties for the future, as well as her friends being right by her side for those duties making things happy goods. Here's to hoping that Season 5 will be way better than Season 4.

Twilight's trouble of her purpose and princess she was were also the questions that crept in my mind after the Season 3 finalé. Of course, it was obvious that she'll be the Princess of Books Friendship, but the 24 episodes of Season 4 didn't really deal with that question. So it kept on echoing in my head.

But anyway, this season's finalé is really great, epic, and wonderful!

My youngest brother actually watched with me this time because of the unexpected and epic battle between Tirek and Twilight Sparkle! xD
I mean, wtf?! Dragon Ball battles! xD

Eh, I'm mostly waiting on my time. I'll draw, write, ect.... do anything to pass the time. Since the freaking state I live in has zero percent of jobs at the moment (but gotta keep on trying!).

I might actually restart my Pokemon Sapphire in the light of the remake announcement, though; however pony-wise, I'll keep writing my current story on the matter. :)

Like I said before, I kind of feel like I jumped in to everything at a bad time, seeing as how close it was to the end of this season when I started watching. I'll probably go back and watch all of the episodes again over the next couple of months, except I won't be watching 5-6 a night like I was before. Well, I'm just gonna keep drawing ponies and making button designs of them. Kind of have to, really. Then I'll probably just lurk in related pony places. And maybe, just maybe, I'll start making Youtube episode reviews with my boyfriend. So much to say, and so many strange opinions I have that tend to be uncommon. (For instance, my dislike of Pinkie Pride.) Oh and I'll be going to some sort of convention in the area that isn't really all that well-known. (Grand Brony Gala)

During the period between seasons, I'm going to work on mostly non-pony related things. Though I might poke a little at the fanfic idea I have for the show, but that isn't a main focus.

There is a good possibility that I'll read more pony fics. I have five different stories open in separate tabs on my tablet that were recommended (mostly by brony critic, Tommy_Oliver) by people.

With these dry seasons, ponies tend to drift out of my life. After a few months, I'll suddenly remember that there's this show I used to watch about rainbow-colored horses and then I'll start looking up information for when the show will return.

As for the finale:

The fight scene was awesome.

Twilight's library being blown up was decidedly not awesome. The replacement home doesn't really fit in with anything. Twi's old home was comfortable, a staple of Ponyville that she made her own. Anyone would enjoy spending time in the library's solitude and quiet, tucked into a little alcove with a book.

Now she lives in a rock castle with jagged points. The inside looks like a dungeon. And no books. Harsh.

Other: Why do I like Fluttershy? Because I feel like she is like how I act. I'm not very talkative and can be very timid. You can probably tell by me not having much to say.

I stumbled onto pony via the music side. I began listening to non-pony material made by pony artists, like Tombstone, and Vinyl. Then came the tracks that were in the pony universe but not directly episode related. Finally I landed on the episode remixes and whatnot which I didn't understand the context of so I Watched a couple episodes whilst downloading a game (Black Mesa: Source). I could feel the want for more after but I didnt want to be a brony at the time, so I shot it out of my head with Black Mesa (Best game ever of all time). It worked too! 6 months later I gave it a second chance and here I am a year after that 6 months. I've been to the wierdest parts of ponydom (Cloudsdale.org anyone?) and back. Looking for somewhere pony to settle down now. Hoping to be here on this site where I stopped trying to repress myself to be 'cool'.

I would say this was the most epic finale since the Canterlot Wedding!! It's like...they added so many references to this special, such as the DragonballZ-style fight that we all witnessed. Also, the Rainbow Power was also expected for me because McDonalds already spoiled the toys, and a few peeps spoiled pictures of Rainbow Power, so we all know what was coming. xD Overall, Twilight's new kingdom was...unexpected for me because I was hoping they would make her library her actual kingdom, and I'm also glad her friends (and Discord) are part of the kingdom. Who knows what will happen in Season 5!~
