    Ever been stopped by the police?

    I got stopped hours ago, for looking shady (middle of the night, not shaven, carrying backpack, on foot). while I broke no laws, I was told that the street I was on had tons of burglaries lately!!!

    Besides the lights on the car straining my eyes and making me stand for a while, no real complaints. -w- (But the guy later followed me to this Wi-Fi hotspot...)

    Couple of times I've been walking at night and had a police's light flashed at me. And in college there were a few times I was confronted for "loitering" downtown, by which I mean I was sitting on the sidewalk. They don't allow that there because they made laws like it to get rid of homeless people. But nothing more serious than that.

    I've been pulled over once for rolling through a stop sign but I've had a few run-ins with the cops otherwise. just a couple nights ago me and a friend were biking around the neighborhood at about 1:30 in the morning and what the cop did was erratically swerve onto the curb right in front of where we were biking, effectively blinding us with the headlights and getting Altogether Too Close For Comfort before rolling his window down to us and being like "what the hell are you doing." I understand his apprehension tbh. it probably looked weird. nothing came of it though.

    I've had a cop car turn his lights on at me because he wanted to pass me - even with me going over the speed limit on the interstate, ended up scaring me because I thought he was about to pull me over for speeding. :T Nope. But that's the closest encounter I've personally had. Any cop stops I've been a part of have been because of what someone else was doing while driving, heh.

    I was stopped again, but this time, the officer gave me a ride. The cops here are unbelievably nice. XDDDDD
    One cop decided to frisk me to train his other rookie cop that was still in the car.

    ...If it wasn't consensual, please move. ; ^;

    Just the random breath test like gimmepie.

    My brother was driving me home a couple weeks ago and the cop's laser speed gun apparently caught him doing 137 kmh in a 90 kmh zone? We were about to be impounded but he was pretty smooth with the cop (very friendly and understanding, also pulled the "I don't want to make my little sister stand on the side of the road with me in the rain" card) so in the end she let us go with a slightly reduced fine of $200 (as opposed to the original impound + $350).

    Was he actually going that much over? o.O

    So far, I've never personally been stopped by police. My brother was driving me to work and was pulled over for speeding once, though he got let off with a verbal warning because he was driving me to my first day at a new job.

    For those of us who speak in imperial units, this was a 30 MPH over the speed limit ticket when converted into imperial units. The equivalent of going 85 in a 55.

    I've been detained due to public intoxication but I wasn't arrested

    i've had interactions with the police due to... an unsavoury personal life, but never for something that i was in the wrong for. squeaky clean record over here! i can't imagine that'll last forever what with my nerves with driving and all, but i'm sure you'll all see a rant on the day that happens.

    I've been pulled over twice no tickets. And I've been stopped for smoking twice which just resulted in them taking the weed

    Ohohohoho! We were stopped. Got caught doing the jitterbug in my car. I thank my lucky stars we didn't get slapped with PI ohohoho! Beat that!

    Most recently, I got stopped by the Galveston PD because my brake lights went out (both of them). Had I not known they were dead, my car would have suffered damage.
