So if Exeggcute isn't getting an Alola form, does that not every pre-evolution would get one just because their evolved form would? Cubone doesn't have an Alola form either, but it evolves into Alola Marowak? So many questions still unanswered. D:

Yup, that's what I saw in the Japanese Trailer! It's kind of confusing :/

I used to think that ONLY the evolution shows signs of variation, not the original form. However, that seems confusing as even Vulpix has an Alolan form. Maybe they're hiding it from us? I't's all possible.

If I recall, a normal Cubone evolved into Alolan Marowak in a trailer. Yet we have some pre-evos with Alola Forms like Meowth, Vulpix and Sandshrew. Like you said, there's still a lot of unanswered mysteries regarding these forms.

So I think we now have 5 Pokemon of this generation whose gender status is genderless - Minior, Tapu Koko, Solgaleo, Lunala and Magearna.

The latter three are obvious, but it also does make me believe the Tapu guardians are legendaries, not just because of their status as "guardians" but also the reveal of them being genderless, as I spotted in a Japanese trailer from a while ago now.

That means all the other Pokemon appear to have genders, at least based on my speculation. Rowlet, Litten and Popplio, due to being the starters are likely to be 87.5% male, since it's been tradition to make them hard to breed without a Ditto. Everything else revealed so far I speculate will be 50-50 in terms of gender ratios.

I wonder if a non-alolan vulpix evolves into a alolan ninetales in the Alola region...and if there are actually alolan formes for exeggcute and cubone as well.

Some have speculated that some Kanto pokemon will not recieve Alolan formes in this game, but I wonder if there could also be fire type vulpix and ninetales in this game as well as Alolan formes depending upon which area they are found.

I also bet some pokemon might have two or more alolan formes, like Mewtwo X and Y.

All I know is that I am not certain of anything when it comes to Alolan formes...which is probably a good thing.

That's what I'm wondering above all else when it comes to the Alola forms. Are there going to be non-Alolan Vuplix to be found anywhere within the region? i wouldn't even mind if all of the non-Alolan variants are within some sort of Safari Zone-esque exclusive area or something, as long as you can find them (and honestly, it would make sense to have the non-Alolan variants be rarer to some degree).

I am hoping so too. Mostly because I would love an Alolan Lapras. Otherwise, as trailers have shown, there are non-alolan Lapras and no Alolan formes :(

A terrestrial Lapras dinosaur would be amazing!

To get back on news focus when are you guys expecting a new trailer to come out?

For me, I think September 1st since one of the latest 4chan leaks claimed it, but I personally do think it correlates to the pattern of a new trailer releasing around the start of every new month since June (yes I know the July 1st trailer was leaked early but you get it) and there's only 7 days left of this month, and with two trailer reveals following Gamescom and Worlds I think they've burned out the news for this month so saving the next reveal for September is likely.

I agree, since the trailers tend to come on a fortnightly basis so September 1st and then the 15th (which is also when CoroCoro releases) definitely seem plausible. Kinda expecting close to the same format for October, so that way I can potentially enjoy a new S/M trailer as my birthday gift.

I don't think any of the actual trailers deconfirm or debunk alolan execute/cubone/pikachu. All we see if their kanto base forms evolving, and then it cuts out and they show the alolan form. They don't actually show the regular kanto form evolving into the alolan form, so I don't think we can really say they're out of the question just yet because "we see them evolve into their alolan forms", because we clearly don't.

That said, I don't tihnk they'll get alolan forms because it wouldn't make sense to reveal their evolutions now, and then their pre's later.

I do find it very weird they showed the normal pre-evo evolving and then cuts it straight to the Alola Form. It's like they are trying to hide something and don't want us to know until uh, maybe after release.

September 1st seems the most likely. I remember reading a rumour on 4chan about a trailer dropping around that time, that is when the trailers usually tend to release.

I'm also going to guess we'll have a trailer at 1st September. Since other trailers have been announced at the 1st of the month.

In June I believe the first trailer for that month (aka the first new trailer since the starter reveal) dropped on the 2nd. And July's first trailer was intended to drop on the 1st, but got leaked early and was subsequently released on June 30th instead but it is still close to the 1st so it does still kinda fit the pattern. August's first trailer did come on the 1st, so it would make sense to continue the pattern of a trailer dropping at the start of a month.

I personally think the reason why they cut off the evolution animation is to, one, not spoil the entire evolution animation, and two, cut down on the length of the video, as those sequences can be a bit long. It may seem a bit inconsistent, but I can understand the reasoning: some Pokémon didn't need to adapt but their evolutions ended up doing so, while for others the entire line adapted. Think of it as a "branch evolution" of sorts. With that being said, I'm sure Alola Persian will turn out to be a thing (although I hope it's more than just a recolor), since there hasn't been a Pokémon yet with "branch pre-evolutions."

Supposedly the next CoroCoro is going to have information on the artificial island; I wonder if that will be a "CoroCoro-exclusive scoop" or if our next international reveal will also feature similar details.

I do hope we get news on more of the region soon, since we still barely know anything. The promised "southern island guide" of this month's issue did nothing but disappoint me because we were still focused on discussing new Pokemon reveals.

What I do know about the artificial island is that the white mansion on it is the same one we saw in a piece of concept art that came out at the time the games were announced.
