No opinion on a Metro based RP then? I thought it'd be fun!

A Metro RP sounds kind of interesting in my opinion, although it really depends on what the plot is. Would it be based after the 2 games? An Alternate Universe where the events didn't happen? A prequel?

Wish there were RPs with guns again. It's what I'm best at.

Got an answer for you. ;D

BURDEN
GMed by Watchdog, Kikpanther, Vintage Arachnid

Ten years ago marked the fall of Astrova's President Ivan Sokolsky and the end of a tyrannical government. With the protection of the Astrovian special police, the country has remained strongly independent and peaceful. However, every great nation has an enemy and in recent years they've become bolder in their attempts to destroy Astrova. The anti-Astrovian rebel group (often referred to as the AAs) is lead by the escaped criminal Ethan Sherbert, nicknamed The Catalyst. The AAs are adamant in their attempts to usurp the Astrovian government and have demonstrated their ideals with raiding, assassinations, and mass shootings. Under their new president Shaye Maclomhair the Astrovian government has made attempts to negotiate with the AAs, but have so far had no luck. The rebel group is unwilling to find compromise and thus all negotiations are at a standstill.

You are a new member of the Astrovian special police force, more specifically you are one of the few who guards President Maclomhair. You have only recently left The Academy, a training facility for young girls and boys who are to enlist in the military and protect Astrova. Like your classmates, you were enrolled by your parents into Academy around the age of five to seven and have trained since the fall of President Sokolsky's tyranny. You have not seen your parents since you enrolled and, as unfortunate as it is, it is a necessity in order maintain the integrity of the government and the Astrovian people. Per the Academy's system, you have been training with the same classmates since enrollment and each of you have elevated to proud, graduated member. Some of your teammates may be siblings, best friends, or long-time rivals, but above all they are your greatest allies. Though you are full members of the special police, your senior members will be acting as your mentors for the time being, so pay close attention to what they say! Volunteers, the Astrovian people thank you!

For the most part, Burden is an RP designed to focus on the characters, settings, and nuances of the Burden world rather than the plot itself. While the plot is still important, its main purpose is to push the characters to discover its many secrets and mysteries that pop-up within the Burden world. With so many Easter eggs (if you will) within the plot, there's a chance not everything will be discovered, but it certainly is possible! Think of it like a video game with multiple endings, whatever path you take can alter the ending entirely. Discovery is encouraged in the RP, so the real question is, what path will you take?

So as the ad says Burden will be GMed by me, Retro Bug, and Kiklion. We've been working on this for a couple of months and will hopefully be able to release somewhere from mid to late summer. We just thought we'd drop this in an attempt to find some interest. We're excited for it and we hope you will be too!

So what do you guys think?

That looks cool! I just hope you'll make the Digimon RP kick off for real before you post this RP too ;D

I will probably release a sort of pokémorph RP before too long. I had this major urge to do it and I have time for one more RP (albeit being a GM is a bit more than being a player, haha). So I just hope there's enough players for all these new cool RPs in the summer! :3 If not, we gotta lure more in. HUNT.

What are some interesting or surprising ways in which some of your characters have developed?
Less have developed and more want to develop. My characters in my head seem to develop at warp speed compared to how they go here. I already know what direction I want them to take, it's a matter of getting there. A lot of the time, I'm rereading old posts so I remember where my character is ACTUALLY at.

Thinking of revamping Cloud again. I got new ideas from the SAO light novel as I read it on the way home. Anyone interested at all? :x

I should stalk this thread more often. Seriously.

What are some interesting or surprising ways in which some of your characters have developed?
Truth to be told, none of characters really were used long enough to actually develop at all. They're kind of made then left there... slowly dying... alone... Might be unfair but I blame my G+ methods. An exception might be the fact that my Goddess of Pride lost her pride? Yeah, that was weird ._. Though that happened over an unwritten time skip and not through actual development.
I hope to change that by sticking around here. Lemme improve my character developemeennttt~ * ^ *)/

Also, LET ME HATE YOU FOR CREATING AMAZING RPs. I'm sobbing over here ;w; I'm already in three with a fourth character still in edit mode. You don't know how guilty I feel about leaving that SU hanging. I'm pretty sure I can't handle another but I just want to wrap my arms around all these plots and
slowly
make
them
mine.
Wahahahahahaha~//shot again.

That and I don't want to modify those GIFs in my sig again to fit the limit of 600px.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure many of you know I dug myself a grave by GMing right off the bat. Sometimes I want to stab my brain. I just wanted to know if you have any basic tips for an idiot like me. I am having fun, however. Still like they say, Play responsibly.
...That wasn't worded right was it? .-.

Two come to mind. Alys in Aerion was the first, despite Aerion not getting far she had started to develop and was about to. Initially I went for this "Black Sheep" princess who ventured out into the world and kinda learnt everything by herself. Eventually she teamed up with a group of Mercenaries and that was when she started to come out of her shell. I had intended her character to kinda redeem herself when the RP's next arc took place in her home region.

The second is Wyatt Cale in Atlantis. Originally he was meant to be this weak guy acting tough, fuelled by other angsty means. But lately he's kinda turned a bit to the wild side, which seems to be happening all too much in Atlantis, hahaha.

I miss Red's RPs, they're always amazing.

GMing isn't something that you can just, do. Neither is it something that really requires you to have RPed for years. It's all about trial and luck. Like with anything, you're bound to either succeed or fail. GMing is all about adapting what you've learnt from your failures to make something great. It can also count on the dedication of your RPers. You talk to almost anyone on the board here with a history of GMing and they'll speak of more failures than successes.

There's no definitive way to GM, everyone has their different styles that work for different RPers. Just keep at it and eventually you'll get there.

So I guess from this, the one piece of advice you can take is to look at what went wrong and try not to let that happen again.

I don't know about you, but those words seriously inspired me. owo
I'll definitely be keeping that in mind, thanks!

Yeah, I've GMd far too many roleplays on PC... None of them finished xD Most times I had loads of fun though, even though most of my intricate plots never got the chance to play out. Ahha.

...Oh, don't mind me, I'm just posting here on a whim. I really should've come here earlier

Oh god GMing. I've been working up the courage to GM again for the past year or two... and I'm still nowhere near ready. xD Though I've GMed several One-on-One RPs with friends, I've never successfully managed to GM an RP on here. Every single one was a fail, mainly because I had nothing planned going into it. It was just like 'Oh that sounds like a cool idea so whatevs, let's make an RP out of it'!

Also I noticed a question.

What are some interesting or surprising ways in which some of your characters have developed?

I'll be honest: I haven't had that much character development in RPs in the past. At least not ones I participate in on forums. That's because either the RP or I would give up before that could happen. RPs have such short lifespans these days, and I had no patience to let it happen. >_>

In any case, the only real character development cycle I can remember from my time on PC is Paladin from Pokemon Odyssey. I'm sure there've been more, but that was a long time ago and my memory's crap. Though, that character development cycle was planned out beforehand, more or less, and it was mainly due to the intervention of a mind parasite (long story..) so it isn't really surprising or anything.

@Kurobat: Welcome back! If you're looking for a new RP that hasn't started yet, then come check out Fire Emblem: The Rift War. As the name suggests, it's based on the Fire Emblem series, but it has a completely original plot in an original world. There's gonna be a lot of action, drama, and fun. Songbird and I are also about to post a reimagining of Vale Institute of Magic. It's a little bit like Harry Potter (magic school), but in a much more realistic and modern setting. And if those don't sound like your cup of tea, then there should be plenty of recently posted RPs, like Tinted, that you could check out.

Connections: New Dawn

A group of troubled students become a part of the New Dawn program, a program seeking to better the future by fixing the troubles of a city's youth. It seems simple enough but soon mysterious phenomena will begin to plague these students plunging their already difficult lives into unexplainable chaos.

Maybe they will crack under the pressure, or maybe they will grow from the experience. Either way it is a difficult road ahead and the only ones they will be able to trust are each other.

It's coming at last. Connections: New Dawn is a remake of the original Connections that I GM'd with Chalifoux and will be GM'd by myself and Nauje. It is based on the Kokoro Connect anime series (although knowledge of the series will not be necessary). Basically a mysterious entity is going to start subjecting a small group at the New Dawn program to a range of traumatic supernatural experiences. Nauje and I would both greatly appreciate you all taking a look when it gets accepted even though it is a little different from what you usually see around here.

Further information will be given in the OOC.

OMG! A Kokoro Connect RP! :D

I'll have to go free up my schedule, but no way am I missing out on that.
