If someone were to make a roleplay where a character could use a boomerang as a weapon, that would be greatly appreciated...I'm in a boomerangy sort of mood.

I second that notion, as long as a character could also use a whip. That would be amazing.

It looks like the RPs these days fill up quite quickly... =/

Sounds like it's time for another Homestuck RP ;) In those, you could start with a frying pan or a stool and turn them into laser enhanced supermetal pieces of colorful deathbringers.

Oh, I know the feeling! D: At least you got some time now to roleplay, don't ya? :3

I've been meaning to follow (not join) a Kalos journey roleplay. Has one been made yet?

Don't think so. Not since Café Rouge anyways? It's still so new. Johto and Kanto and Hoenn RPs are still the most common, but Sinnoh have sprung up more these past years and Unova too I suppose. Kalos is still so new so not everyone is comfortable with it yet, maybe :]

Ohohoh, Dualik made a roleplay with an emphasis on at one point, Hollow Shadows. It might not fall into Kalos, but it certainly is "Gen VI."

Or was. It's dead now.

I'd think everyone's comfortable with Kalos, just that RPers aren't doing as much during this time as usual [I myself having AP exams in like three weeks :x]. I would say during the summer we should see a Kalos roleplay [or two or three or... a bunch] come up.

Hey guys so I'm thinking about doing a .//hacksign RP as players into the new found "The World R:X3" unlike most of the games they have mastered the system and the RP takes place during a stable part of the game (aka the players are able to log off). I was thinking of doing an RP where the players got to have a character In-Game as well as play as their "IRL" character .... how do you think that would go? do you think that would be too much going on??

ive always wanted to do something similar with a roleplay i had a bit ago called CLOUD. never got to that point though where the real life would interact with the online. ):

Aww CLOUD, I remember that one. that roleplay had so much potential imo. ;;

Might...probably brainstorm an idea that combines fantasy and the Kalos region. I mean, come on...FAIRY POKEMON YO.

i know! i was so sad that it died before i got to do anything with it. i was tossing up whether to revamp it again, but time isnt on my side atm. maybe in the future once uni is over. :)

Hmm, I'll go ahead and revive this thread with a topic, yeah? Not sure if this was asked before but oh well. xD

Do you have a roleplay character that shares the same traits (personality-wise or other) as you do?

MADDY do it when you have time. DO IT. And plan a plot ;)

Yeah, I toss in bits of myself in almost every characters I make. Easier to sympathize and play the character if you feel like they're a bit like you. In some ways. Not all ways! I'd never want to make a complete copy of myself in a regular RP. It would either seem like I'm trying to make myself look good, or like I'm all like "pity me" xD

I think all my characters have a degree of me in them, although I think everyone has a little bit of every 'personality' inside them, so it's really just what you tap into!

While they're not blatant expies of myself, I think all my characters have something about them which I can relate to. Otherwise, I wouldn't be RPing them.

Let's add another question to the mix :).

When it comes to new roleplays describing their region/building/town, how much information do you look for? Do you prefer this information in words, maps or pictures?

I'mma answer the old topic, because the new one is too mainstream

Do you have a roleplay character that shares the same traits (personality-wise or other) as you do?
I typically like to include the awkward, quirky side of me in most of my characters. It's always been fun for me to play as the guy who makes everyone question their amount of comfort and stuff. I also like to have my characters overthink things, as I normally do that as well. Physically, I go with what the internet provides xp (Hooray for DeviantArt!)

I'm not certain about characters now, but generally I've always put a tiny piece of me into each character I make, sometimes as the focus, often as a minor quirk.

I feel that varies with the RP. Academies tend to use pictures, though sometimes maps. Journeys almost always have maps, especially with fantasy and imagined-by-the-GM worlds and regions. Generally, words come naturally to all, and I think they're possibly the most necessary part. It certainly is nice to leave places to the imagination, but this can often lead to confusion and clashing views of the same place. Word-by-word descriptions should always be primary, with pictures and maps supporting the description so that everyone has at least a close idea.

Since it seems to have blown away with the wind, I'll put up my previously asked question:

What, to you, makes a character 'good', fun or interesting?

Well, a character should be reasonably unique. You want to be able to remember them and either smile or wonder about their history and future (in the RP) with concern.

Note: unique doesn't mean having the oddest hair/eye color or most tragic history. It can be to have a quirk, a hobby, a special fear or love for something. It's difficult to pinpoint generally, as how great a character becomes also has to do with how well the RPer writes them.

I like characters who have flaws. Who aren't stunningly beautiful and amazing at everything but actually fail sometimes - maybe they screw up their friendships, maybe they're unforgiving, etc. I hate nothing more than a character who can do no wrong.

Fun/Interesting wise - I guess that's all about breaking the mold and trying not to give a similar personality to another character in the roleplay ><.
