Where I live, things are way more multicultural. Australia is a country that loves to show it's never afraid of accepting people with origins from other countries.

Pity you guys are so far from the refugee crisis now.

/me looks at suddenly multicultural Sweden

At my school, there's a multicultural club and usually every April they host an international festival on campus. It's always nice to see dances from various cultures and try the food as well.

New Zealand is pretty multicultural, my college/HS in particular I can remember involved a lot of events from different cultures. I guess at uni we also have a club for that as well.

In my local neighborhood, they are putting up signs in languages I can't even read the letters of since a few years back, because the amount of non-swedish speakers is just that high now :)

People are setting off fireworks and it's hella annoying tbqh!! Esp. bc I'm in the city.

I think I'm gonna nap before I go out later tonight. n_n #TheStruggle

I didn't go out, but my apartment faces the lake, so we got to watch 3 firework shows from the comfort of our place :P I'm sure it was crazy downtown, but it was actually pretty quiet in my neighborhood.

I hate Times Square in general, but during New Years the place is absolutely unbearable. I don't know anyone, and I mean literally anyone (friends/family) from here (I live in NYC) that ever went to the ball drop. I was there the day before though to drop my uncle off to the bus terminal.

Also, hi PC!

I never really pay attention to anything, I count to the new year myself lol /lonely

New Years was pretty low key for us. A small display of fireworks were in town, but it was too much of an effort to go there, and would rather chill at home anyway.

I do feel sorry for Belgium who outright cancelled their events due to fears of terrorism. It's like Europe has been getting more sensitive since the Paris attacks in November.

I've kinda wanted to go to the ball drop, but there's so many people there that it looks absolutely nuts.

Also hi back!

I mean, I'm sure it's one hell of an experience. I'd say go for it if it isn't frigid.

I think cautious is a much more appropriate word. I can't really blame them.

Post-traumatic stress disorder sucks. I imagine how many of the French are going through that after such an event. Plus, it was so awesome to hear Eagles Of Death Metal get over the incident and they are planning to get their European tour back on track very soon.
