    Edit: Since none of you can just grasp the simple fact that I made this to see if the people in this hacking community could tell the difference between and good hacker, and bad hacker, I'm going to go ahead and get this locked...

    I vote... for Christos.

    I know him for ages, and could see how he has progressed with hacking and how professional does Liquid Oceam look now. And he is always kind and helps people when needed.
     
    I vote for Zel, because he made Shiny Gold and he made the mini game scripts. He's a really good hacker. I might become him one day. ;)

    I vote for Coolboyman, because his hacks got hacking popular, and he was the very first person to finish a GOOD hack.

    I'm voting for Coolboyman because he actually deserves to win for one. Two, hes made tons of great tutorials (which usually get ignored <.<) Three hes made some tools like red map, and basically started hacking as we know it. His hack was one of the first and he completes his hacks ;).

    Edit: Cooley thats something very hard to claim that he knows the most... I can tell you that he doesn't. From what hes done and what I've seen he doesn't know much about the gba at all! Pokemon games have nothing to do with knowing the gba's internals, nor much of the gba itself... I'm not gonna even bother anymore with that because its a 1000000000000% untrue.

    Perhaps you should read the whole line before you say something is retarded? I stated why he was a good hacker, and what he has done. >_>

    And yes, Coolboyman is a good choice. Good work.

    Why?
    Because he is a great hacker who has great experience in hacking and got a lot better at a lot of stuff, like inserting sprites, scripting, mapping, etc.
     
    i vote for foullump because i watched his awsome mapping on youtube and also it made me a better mapper by keep on watching them and also his hack is great and not to mention his scripting is awsome. thats why i think he should win it

    My opinion:

    I don't think this is a very good idea.
    It will just make the popular hackers/whatever who are fat headed even more fat headed.
    Also how can you measure how "top" someone is in anything?
    I like what many people in the sub/scene/s have done, even if it didn't benefit me very much, but that doesn't make them a "bottom" hacker.
    They may have helped someone else significantly or gave them something fun to play and made their life slightly better.

    Totally, apart from one guy who was been mentioned in this list.
     
    I vote for Zel. He is almost complete with his hack and his minigames are awesome.
    His hack also has many features and is the best remake of johto. I think that will be a hack that'll go down in history.
     
    Well this will make a lot of hackers lose their motivation.
    most of the hackers that are chosen are very well known, which doesn't give the other new,good hackers a chance to win.
    but i'm still going to vote.
    i vote for thethethethe, because he is great at scripting, helps out a lot of people, and always tries to learn more about hacking.I can tell that LOD is going to be great...
     
    I vote for either (both?) Son Sebbe (and/)or gabe_k.

    Son Sebbe, because he was the first (to the best of my knowledge) to actually do something with Mystery Dungeon and make tools for it. I know that him and (I think) thethethethe have been working at scripting on Mystery Dungeon and have been putting a lot of time into figuring this stuff out. Son Sebbe is a good guy and I think he deserves a reward for what he's done.

    I realize that some people might be mad or not like gabe_k because he got angry at the community( of the community got angry at him,) but he did form a team to help pioneer through Diamond and Pearl hacking. He has devoted a lot of time to learning through much (as in A LOT) of trial and error to hack maps and do scripting in Diamond and Pearl. I've become a good friend with him and he (in my opinion) has good reason to be angry with the lack of respect given to him and those who work to bring tools and knowledge to the community.

    He has a deep understanding of how GBA games work. He also has advanced understanding in programming and what people need. He is a perfectionist and is always helping out and discovering new things. He's always thinking outside the box.

    Not sure if this is such a good idea... what will this even do? Promote the user's hack? We already have HOTW and HOTM for that. How are people even supposed to have genuine reasons? You'd have to get to know that person over a period of time to know how good of a hacker they are.

    Most people (especially the ones who haven't been here for a long time) will just vote for people who have made a name for themselves, but then why do these people need to be given more recognition? I'm not saying they don't deserve it, but won't it make other people less noticeable (which by the way is the point of HOTW)?

    Also just because hackers don't showcase all their work in public doesn't mean they know less than people who do.

    With that said... I vote for:

    thethethethe is always ready to help people as seen in his frequent posts in the Simple Questions thread and elsewhere. He is obviously very knowledgeable and is prepared to share his knowledge with others. Many of the newer hackers (and perhaps some of the older hackers) could learn a lot from his example.
