hey this is nev from the mtv show catfish

have you been catfished? or possibly, have you been the catfish?

not really catfished but when i first joined pc a guy added me on skype saying he knew me from the forums and then talked to me for a solid 2 days and then asked if he wanted to co run a forum with me and there was somthin fishy going on there and then he sent me "yo my smexy bitch. What's up?" and i MURDERED that block button

I've been accused of this in the past by people who get irritated with me for not revealing things about myself that they think they're entitled to know because reasons. Which doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but there we go. I've never set out to do anything like that.

I've never been catfished; I don't really look to establish personal connections with others, so it doesn't matter to me if they lie to me or not.

Yep. I had these people claim to be my favorite j-rockers. I fell victim to their lies because they seemed so legit. It was easy for anyone to fall for it as well. I knew after they ditched me and kicked me to the curb they couldn't be real. The real ones wouldn't do that kind of thing, and a majority of them can't even speak english correctly. :| That's when I knew the ones I met on Facebook were fake.

Also, before I discovered PC and the digimon forum I went to... I was on this Jamie Kennedy forum when I had a huge crush on him. Some people there had accused me of being fake. It really hurt too because here I had thought these people were my close friends, you know?

i faked my profile picture when i was like 12 or 13 but that's about it. i've had a couple of incidences when i've been catfished too.

not my proudest moment but I think two years ago, my friends and I were bored on Valentines Day and made a fake Tinder profile and trolled people on there just for that day. it was hilarious omg

(Don't worry, our tinder profile was of a stuffed rabbit so if you see a single bunny in socal hmu ;))

Back in the early 2000s I pretended I was 18 to get access to +18 content. Does that count?

I've never fallen victim to a catfish, although I have received numerous fake "friend requests" from strange "women" on MySpace and Facebook back when I had accounts on those social networks, often saying "I moved to your area recently" (even though I never heard of any of those "people"). I rejected every single one of those "requests", not least because I wasn't going to deal with strange people I never even heard a word about beforehand. (I had thought those fake users wanted to sell me into prostitution, for one thing, given the revealing attire that every single one of those "women" had on their profile pictures.)

It was kinda of a small one but... there were quite a few people who liked him.

yes, I was in showdown's lobby with the username spheric alice and some guy PM'd me and I catfished him.

it was very funny but I lost the chat logs unfortunately

well, i didnt like get him to take pics or anything i just made him say embarrassing shit lmao

i was bored ok

i've only been catfished once as far as i know. this guy and i had been texting for a few weeks and then i realized that my friend had been him the whole time and faked the pictures. it was awful.

"my friend"

if one of my "friends" had been messing with me for weeks and sending fake pictures pretending to be someone else, there are a few other words that'd spring to mind before "friend"...

anyway, no, don't think so

Oh yeah any number of times. PlentyofFish bones me virtually every time. From a woman in her 40s who told me she was 27 to people who look nothing like their pictures. The thing is like, I wouldn't of not gone on the dates if they were honest, it was the dishonesty that repelled me.

no but i dont put myself into situations where i can be catfished

incidentally im single

i have a friend who catfished a catfisher.
he pretended to be a girl on a Minecraft server just to mess around with some meatheads and ended up getting the attention of a middle-aged man who then attempted to bribe 'her' with games so that he could guilt-trip 'her' into meeting up.
he rolled with it, his girlfriend even got involved as 'her lesbian partner'.

not sure where it goes from there, but he and his girlfriend ended up walking away with GTA V.
