How long do you brush your teeth for?

We all need to take care of ourselves, it's part of staying healthy. The qustion is, how do you want to take care of yourself? And to be a little less vague, how long does it take you to brush your teeth?

I usually take between 5-10 minutes to do so, I guess thats longer than average but I want to keep them clean so it's necessary. Sometimes I do them for twenty or so minutes, if I'm feeling dirty. :x

I brush at least 4 times a day, mainly because I have braces, but I like my teeth to be nice. :D

I usually brush for 3-5 minutes.

I've never timed myself while brushing, but I always do thirty strokes from every angle and then five or so along the ridge of my tongue. :P

If I were to estimate, it'd probably end up being three to four minutes. :D

Um, I think about 3-5 min. Need to take care of healthy teeth. Getting braces next week so... =P

I do it for only 1 minute so yeah.

I brush my teeth two times a day; morning before I leave for school, and night time before I go to sleep. I brush for around 3 - 4 minutes. I used to have braces so yeah, I'm careful with my teeth and their shape. :3

It usually will take me 2-4 minutes to brush my teeth. Because I brush the top, bottom, sides, my roof of my mouth, and tongue. And I really brush. So it takes me a bit longer. If I had a electric brush it probably would take me a minute. But I don't have one.

I usually take two-four minutes even with a electronic toothbrush, and to be quite honest I don't care for it at all. I'd much rather have a manual toothbrush which I plan on getting soon. I brush my time at least two times a day which seems like enough for me, I can't really stand the strong mint flavor.

Two minutes is the average time quoted by most dentists for brushing your teeth. 1 minute should be spent brushing the upper arch and 1 minute on the lower arch. How do you know if you are really brushing for two minutes? Do you set your stop watch, na that's too high tech for tooth brushing? Should you could to 120 in your head, na you might just count to fast or to slow? Is there a solution to this? You can try the Dr Fresh Firefly toothbrush! It solves your math problems and keeps brushing simple! There is a flashing light built into the handle. The firefly flashes for 60 seconds, your fool proof pratical way to brush. Push the button twice to get your dentist recommend two minutes! It comes in a rainbow of colours and the best part is that's it's not only for kids, it comes in an adult size as well!

I do it for only 1 minute so yeah.

I'm with Captain Hobo! I know you're suppose to brush your teeth for three minutes (I think) but they feel squeaky clean after a minute and my gums start to hurt if I go too long. I use mouth wash too so I suppose that helps. I'll admit though that I'm not the best flosser. :/

Two minutes, I suppose.

I used to have this Micky Mouse electric toothbrush which made a sound every one minute to indicate it was time to change to the top/bottom side of the teeth. It was a nice way to time how long I was brushing, but I hated the tickly feeling I got on my nose.

Not very thug, I know.

i've always tried to be as quick as i can particularly because i hate the flavor of toothpaste (sometimes because i'm running late), but since i've encountered some cavity issues over the years i've been counting my brush strokes- i think i do about 24 strokes per side on average, it varies xD i guess it takes me about two minutes or so

...3 minutes? I dunno, I should brush them longer but I just don't really feel like it. Either way, my teeth are in good quality so yay :D

About 20 minutes out of my morning routine is to brush my teeth. Since I have braces, It takes more to keep them clean.
