Ideas for APRIL FOOLS

    Since we can see threads from 8 months ago here I thought "What the heck, why not?"

    So this will be the thread were we as supporters come up with ideas for next years April Fools joke. I would like to encourage staff to consider some of the ideas posted here.

    In which case, I would have to stress the No Leaking clause extremely heavily since ideas here will definitely be possibilities >__> So lets start brainstorming.

    Inspired from Nick's new theme, how about a creepy eye that floats on your screen set for all the pages you browse?

    Is there a way to make it stationary, such as replacing the pokeball (looks similar) in a banner, but have it watch your cursor?
     
    Pfft that's nothing when you compare that to what I have planned for B/W (and possibly PC). Plus idk...leaking is -really- possible when you consider the amount of tier 3+ but oh wells. :D

    Maybe we can just suggest and discuss them here, but not actually find out the actual plans? Then it's too vague to leak and we still get a surprise. :D
     
    Promise I won't leak...and I doubt many people would even consider it.

    How about putting a sticky/announcement thread at the top of every page stating that the R/S remakes will be out in two months in Japan, and four in the rest of the world? Or is that a bit too far...

    I'll input on all of your ideas then! Just to give an ~idea~ of how I see things at least. :x

    1. HG/SS got announced in May 2009, released in Japan in about September 2009, iirc.
    2. B/W got announced early February 2009, released in Japan in September 2010.
    3. HG/SS got released March 2010.
    4. B/W got released--I mean is getting released March 2011.

    Based on those figures, I doubt anybody would believe it. There needs to be publicity, etc, etc... yeah.
     
    This would be an addition to any idea; making it so whenever you go to the forum main page a girls screams loudly and gives people a shock.

    If you're doing that you might as well just put a rickroll on the index and get it over & done with. :(

    (A girl screaming loudly seems impossible in itself, anyway, mainly because those with headphones in, unsuspecting could... well have negative effects upon people's hearing then on. We don't really want a lawsuit, do we?)
     
    Tbh, I'd rather go with the standard make everyone use the annoying and badly designed theme, and make a small community meme out of it. Maybe something like what has happened the past two years, with giving everyone the same name, mix the forums around, same avatar as well. Unoriginal, but it works.

    Also name everyone Smugleaf.
    Also also put a cool filter on it, so when you say certain words it will say something else as well. ;D
     
    My best idea is a forum blackout (that is, black theme/black text/ black buttons/etc…) or a Whiteout.
     
    xD I remember... 2008 was it? 2009? When the theme was set to that imo ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE ugly (sorry, creators of it) generic theme and named everybody... oh, what was everybody called? I've forgotten, but the conversations turned hilarious when it all was just starting xDDDD

    What was it last year?
     
    It was called "Todoroki", referencing 2006's April Fools, and Slowpooooooke Style was last years prank.
     
    TODOROKI! xD Riiight, omgosh that was annoying. But yeah, something equally annoying would be great! Maybe it would be too similar to name everybody something again though.

    Maybe we could make a really pink theme and force it on everybody... wait, we have the Cherrim theme >.< *loves it though*

    But what about doing something related to Seedbby? Something like turning PC into one giant "FREE SEEDBBY - Give Me My Real Name!" demonstration, and make all staff usertitles "Seedbby-presidents" or generals and the supporters executives and normal members grunts or demonstrants or something... *brainstorms nonsense*

    And the forum banner would be a giant Seedbby looking ready to cry, so you'll just want to hug it and fight for its freedom.

    Even better, a floating creepy eye following your mouse cursor o___o genius. Make it a very detailed anime eye.

    We can also make everyone's name SEEDBBY or COTTONBBY depending on their gender. If they don't have one, TODOROKI.
     
    Create a theme related to some random anime/game and say "Sorry, PC's no longer a Pokemon forum, it's a <insert anime/game name here> forum." Rename each of the main section titles to fit in with the random anime/game chosen.
     
    Force everyone to change theme and change the name, for we are now DigiCommunity and are all fans of Digimon!!!! Maybe a slogan: "Pokémon is so 1995". If possible, every Poké- prefix is replaced with Digi- (possibly requires some amazing PHP wizardry :) )

    Other than that we could give everyone Admin banners (but not actually make them an admin :P ) just for lolz. Or change the Supporter tiers from 5 to say 9,871. We could also put out fake announcements for a Ruby/Sapphire remake, or Generation VI that uses mind control and virtual reality with the new Nintendo 4DS. Or maybe Ash finally dies in the next anime episode?

    Something really whacky that peeps will remember. :D

    LOL yes. Digicommunity! Is it too bothersome to change everybody's username to have -mon at the end? And the slogan would be: "We have found a new slogan!"
