I'm ashamed to admit I've never gone on a vacation. I went on a few overnight/weekend school trips, and my family has done day trips to fairly nearby places, and I've been to week-long conferences, but I hardly consider either of those vacations.

And honestly I don't see a time in the foreseeable future when I will be able to go on one either. :/

I need to go on another vacation sometime soon. The last time I went on a vacation was back in late July 2011, and it was to Virginia (ironic since Geoff posted above me lmao). The only dislike I had about that trip was just to how hot it was :/ maybe if I go back up there to visit family I should just go in June or earlier in July lol

I haven't been anywhere on holiday in years, I never have enough money :(

The last time I went away was 2011, when me and my friends all went to Benicassim. What a week that was.

I think the last time I went on anything close to a vacation is when I visited my dad in the summers and in our cross-country trips he'd take us to different hotels and the Fairview Bay resort, and also to that really famous beach I forget the name of in South Carolina when we lived near there. Also summer back then for us was pretty much a vacation, as my sister and I went to the pool every single day for the sun to continue to rise, and I had for all intents and purposes unrestricted access to the computer. As we got older all that stuff went away and the hell of living with him set in.

As for vacations not tied to cross country road trips, a friend of Amy's (who's a high school BFF of my mother in Virginia) named Donna took us to a beach in Virginia and it was really awesome. A lot of the visions I have of beaches often mirror the musky dawn and dusk that place had, with an isolated storm in the distance and a crimson sun setting with the condos up against the beach. I always called Donna Madonna because I don't know why and I was 8 and Madonna probably sounded cooler anyway smh

I haven't taken a vacation in so long. I go on annual trips to New York each year, but that's to visit my grandma, and I don't go off to see what I want to. I'd love to visit the Baltimore aquarium that's close by my mom...but now it's a matter of taking off work and school which is a hassle

Why do you find this shameful, Jiffy?

As for me, my last vacation with my family has been like.. four years ago? Still, my father works as a bus driver and he goes to Rome three days every week, so we sometimes just spend a few sundays there.
This year I've been on a school trip to Florence. It was fairly outstanding, but in three days I actually grew bored of visiting churches.

I am in vacation right now :P ends in 4 days. ;;

last time I went with my family on vacation was 4 months ago. We went to the beach.

The way my previous major was set up (i.e. Nursing) I wouldn't have gotten a vacation until I graduated from college. It would have been classes straight for 5 years D: Luckily I got out of that in a jiffy and switched over to a less stress-inducing major (i.e. Human Services.)

I just finished my last class of my last year of college. I still have finals and projects and such, but I'm done. Kind of numbing.

Congratulations! Now it's time to be a real adult with a job, bills, and an unstructured future! ;D

Spoiler:

Fortunately for me, my future is quite structured! I have a job in a big company in the industry I want and have long-term plans for where I'm going to end up and what I'm going to do. Everything's coming up Oryx right now.

It's always made me curious as to how many people actually find jobs in their majors immediately after they graduate from college/university.
At the university I go to, we have something called "co ops," where we essentially do 6 months of classes and then 6 months in a job. We take a class on how to nail an interview, and then when we do land a job - a paid job mind you - we work with them until our tenure is up. That way when we graduate from the university, we have all this work experience related to our major on our resumes so we won't be on the hunt for a real job for that long. Even better, most of the time the last co op you're associated with (because usually we have about 3 of these) will offer you a job when you graduate, so you don't even have to test the job market when you're out; you'll have a job right there and then.

I got post-school plans. I wanna learn Computer Engineering then get a job in the Game Development industry if possible.

Instead of having a computer engineering program at my college, there's something else for people who are interested in game design, which I think they call it 'game development.' I actually thought about applying to get into it, but then I realized you need a portfolio for that ;-; One of my friends, he graduated from university with an architecture degree, and then went to the college I'm currently attending for game design. Now he's working free lance jobs, and I believe he's still trying to make his first game. Sounds neat, regardless :D

Unless you suck at your job XD Here, we have trimesters that are divided into 4 month blocks, so our study and work terms are only 4 months long instead of the 6 you have.

Ah, there are plans that are in your head and plans that are completed. I wish planning to be a programmer at 16 would have made it a nice smooth ride to actually being a programmer now.

...This made me just realize that I'm achieving what I've wanted for nearly a decade now. Literally tearing up.

Kudos to you for achieving that! Wish I can say the same some years later :)
