invent your own pokeball!

Cute! I love these types of topics!

Name: Swirl Ball
2ffect: 3x catch rate against 'dancing' Pokémon such as Bellossom, Spinda, and Oricorio among others, as well as Pokémon that can learn dance-type moves (Quiver Dance, Petal Dance, etc). When one of these Pokémon is captured with the Swirl Ball, they will learn a new move called Swirly Dance.
Design: Cream-colored ball with a red swirl on it, referencing Spinda's colors.
How to obtain: Win every contest rank with a Pokémon that has at least one dance-related move to unlock it in the Mart.

Ignore the fact that not all dance moves have the same/dance-related name in the original Japanese pls. :D;

i want a pokeball with apples on it...there's no effect, it just look nice and cute. :) my pokeball inventions are even more useless than kurt's in gen 2 lol.

Name: Darwin Ball
Effect: Best catch rate on pokemon with no evolutions or baby forms in their line at all. For example: Dunsparce or Smeargle
Design: Red & Yellow Striped.
How to obtain: Show Ball Guy 5 mons that have no evolutions/babyforms.

Name: Challenger Ball
Effect: Works best on Pokemon that are very competitive. This includes Pokemon with Abilities like Rivalry, Competitive, Intimidate but also some of the more lorewise challenging Pokemon, like Tauros or Garchomp as well as some of the legendaries that "test your skills".
Design: Red on top and black on the bottom. Red being a somewhat aggressive color depicting how serious you are with catching a Pokemon while black stands in contrast to the white of a regular Poke Ball.
How to obtain: Get a streak of 7 continuous wins in the respective Battle facility. Afterwards you can buy them in a store nearby.

Name: Ever Ball
Effect: Prevents Pokemon in this ball from evolving, similar to an Everstone.
Design: Light blue with dark blue speckles on the top. Silver on the bottom.
How to obtain: Purchase from a specialty ball shop for 1000 Pokedollars.

Would be nice for challenges. Works without needing to hold an Everstone constantly or halting evolutions every level. Recognizes the potential downside of trolling people with Pokemon bred in these balls, though. Awaits a ball exchange NPC.

1. Name: color ball
2. Effect: a ball that changes its color to match the color of the pokémon caught. it changes even when the pokémon evolves and if it's shiny
3. Design: transparent ball (then changes color obviously)
4. How to obtain: having caught at least 50 pokemons, in every market but pricey af, like 3500 pokedollars

Name: Grape Ball
Effect: It catches Pokemon that look like they would taste like grapes.
Design: It's purple.
How to obtain: Pokemart

1. Name: Foe Ball
2. Effect: This ball has double the rate of catching pokemon with lower friendship stats.
3. Design: A ball that mimics the friend ball in looks, only it's base color is purple, and it's secondary color is blue.
4. How to obtain: Purchase from a pokemon ball bootlegger, occasionally other balls will get mixed up in purchase, so watch out!

1. Name: Dawn Ball
2. Effect: Similar to the Dusk Ball, but instead of being most effective in caves and ant night, it has a highest catch rate if used in the morning hours (4am to I guess 10am).
3. Design: An light orange Pokeball with a sun on the bottom half of the pokeball.
4. How to obtain: I'd assume you'd obtain it through only certain Pokemarts, since the Dusk Ball wasn't availbe in every single mart. I'd assume it'd be similar to that.

Also...

1. Name: Desert/Mineral Ball (I can't think of a good name for this)
2. Effect: It has a Pokeball that has a very high catch rate in desert areas or Pokemon that tend to live in the Desert/Underground. And I guess, in a region where there are no desert areas, then it has a boosted catch rate on Rock/Ground and Steel types only.
3. Design: Would have a similar pattern to the Safari Ball, except it'd be a pattern of browns instead of camaflogue green.
4. How to obtain: You'd have to probably buy it in specific Pokemarts similar to the other special Pokeballs.

Name: Rocket Ball
Effect: Allows you to capture another trainer's Pokemon
Design: Blue top (like a Great Ball's blue). Silver bottom. Stamped a large red 'R' on the blue part.
How to obtain: Purchase from a Rocket Tech for 500 Pokedollars in a special mode only.

Assumes a new gamemode. Plays as a Team Rocket Grunt. Aims to capture other Pokemon to use (and maybe sell).

Edit: Bonus on that wavelength

Name: Rainbow Rocket Ball
Effect: Allows you to capture another trainer's Pokemon, but with a higher catch chance.
Design: Rainbow top. Silver bottom. Large red 'R' on the top. (Seems fancier than just a rainbow 'R'.)
How to obtain: Purchase from a Rocket Tech for 1400 Pokedollars in a special mode only.

This is really cute, but gosh I'd hate to use it and then eventually end up wanting to evolve the Pokémon. Woops.

It would be cool to have balls that have higher catch rates for each type, and I can see them being the standard color of that type with a type symbol in the center. Basic, but I can see it working (even if that means a ton of new balls). Fairy's will probably be exactly to my liking. :D
