Is there anyone who got into Pokemon in 2007 or later?

Well I don't really see cases here where people joined the Pokemon fanbase during the gen 4 days, or later, like me. Personally I learned about Pokemon via Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2009 and got to play FireRed and Platinum at the same time. I was addicted to those games.

Uhhhh, as a teen now, everyone I know that played Pokemon when they were younger started at Diamond and Pearl's release in 2007 or later. That was when my age kids were 7/8/9, so around the obligatory start age. Personally, I hopped on the bandwagon Christmas 2007 when I got my first DS and Diamond, and I remember trying to GAIN weight so my parents would get me Platinum when it came out.

I introduced my kid sis to Pokemon (anime) when she was three. Platinum was her first ever Pokemon game, does that count? (:

If you introduced her to the anime pre-gen 4 (aka earlier than 2007) then it doesn't count.

Oh, nah! Dawn from the anime has influenced her a lot too. :P This is particularly evident with her preference on Piplup if the said Pokemon is available, for example like the Mystery Dungeon series.

I got into Pokemon around late 90's, didn't play the games officially until 2003 but I had been a watcher of the anime before then.

I got into Pokemon in 2009. Plat was the latest game beck then, and I was 9 and a half years old. Of course, since I was younger, and it was my first game, there were many things I didn't understand so I stopped plaing for a while. Sometimes I like to consider HG as my first experience, since I actually completed it, and was what made me get into the series in the first place.

(And in case you are wondering I did complete Plat in the end.)

First Pokemon game I've ever played was Fire Red on emulator in 2009. Before that I was into anime in early 2000's, I didn't know about games much.

Surprisingly, I've only played my first Pokemon game (White 2) back in 2013 after watching all the episodes of Pokemon over the summer holidays. (as a dare to one of my friends. :D)

When I was a kid I owned a GameBoy Micro instead of the Advance version so I couldn't play any Pokemon games. Then I got more into PS2 & PSP stuff instead of getting the DS.

But it's the heart that counts, since then I've managed to buy and pass all the games so it's all good. :D

I played from 1999-2004 and didn't start playing again until 2011. The whole your too old for that thing made me stop playing, but I started missing it around 2010 and started buying everything Pokemon. My collection has become so massive it is amazing.

I watched the anime in 2007 and started playing pkmn blue as my 1st game when i was 12 i.e in 2012. Now i've played at least 1 game of each gen except gen vi.

It was around 2009 when I really got into Pokemon; it was Pokemon Emerald however as I'm a bit late when it comes to these things. I remember having watched the anime a few years prior and owned LeafGreen as well, but I never got into it.

You realize how creepy random messages like this sound?
Only because it went over your head.

It's akin to saying I find it cute how my 4-year-old niece was fascinated by Pokémon following me around when I showed her HeartGold a few years back.

Here I find it cute that—generally—younger folks are introduced to the franchise at a much later time yet get the same enjoyment as older folks who have been around since the beginning.

Makes sense now or do you still find it creepy? If so I can't stop you.

i started at pearl a few weeks after release, and i never really looked back. i was slightly hesitant because of my distaste for the anime, but it was a risk i'm very glad i took c:
