June 2025 Mini Archipelago (Complete)

@Alex_Among_Foxes
[Hint]: VendilyRW's Karma is at Level 8 Triforce in AlexZ1's World. (priority)

How reasonable are any of these hints. I just need 1 Karma for Go Mode for Rain World.

Now that I have Red Candle, it's extremely easy. You'll have it in a few minutes.
Edit: forgot to post, you have it now lol.

@Alex_Among_Foxes Mystery Egg is at Phendrana Drifts: Gravity Chamber - Underwater in AlexPrime's World.

I'll grab that provided I have Ice Beam. Most of my progression is now locked to Ice Beam, so once I get that there'll be a lot of checks coming from me from Prime.

I uh, actually already got one from 5qwerty earlier, so I already finished and released Rain World.
So you have your ice beam now.
VendilyOW's Shrine Door Codes is at AlexPrime's Phazon Mines: Ventilation Shaft
Give me a poke when you get this too, it's all I need to finish Outer Wilds.

And that's both of my games goaled. Yay!

Had a relatively uneventful final voyage in Outer Wilds, once you ignore the fact that right at the start of the loop, Explorer of Time found a Ship Damage Trap that nearly blew up my ship, but it was no big deal since I quickly fixed it and I'm forced to wait about 6 minutes at the start of the loop (I can skip time forward, so it was more like 1 minute). It would have been bad if you did it while I was collecting my goal item, then I'd have to redo the loop.
The randomized Dark Bramble layout was really nice this time around, but it's hard to explain if you've never played the game (mostly spoilers, a bit because the area itself is easy to get lost in). Made the run to the finish very very quick compared to vanilla.

And while I didn't mention it earlier with Rain World, I was able to teleport to a shelter close to one of the easier exits to the end of the game, and the final section before the end of the game I've run through countless times, so I don't get lost in the dark maze-like pipes. Had a scare that I'd fall into the worm grass but thankfully the physics were kind to me in that weird moment. (I've gotten launched to my death for less in Rain World, but that's part of the fun sometimes.)

@Devalue I have your Red Scale. The Pendant dungeons were Misery Mire, Eastern Palace, and Ice Palace, if you were curious.

I need to clear Palace of Darkness and make significant progress in Thieves' Town to get the last two Triforce Pieces, so that won't happen until sometime tomorrow.

Just a filler item at the Kanto badge thing.
Though it wasn't relevant this time because I'd already cleared my game, Starcraft doesn't really have filler items in any meaningful sense. Nearly every single item is a permanent upgrade for something, and it's just the arbitrarily-defined less useful items that get tagged as filler for behind-the-scenes coding purposes. Even the actual filler extra starting resources are useful as they improve your early-game economy.

Fair. Sounded fairly useless, though, without even knowing the actual upgrade. (Apial Sensors (Scout), for anyone interested. +2 vision range on a scout, apparently.)

Grabbed the Triforce Fragment from Crystal. Will probably hint for the last badge tomorrow if it is not in Civilization 6.

Edit: Glanced at the sphere tracker for the first time. Will never understand why Zelda's cell is so late in Link to the Past. (Happens every time, not just here.) Calls it Sphere 11, tied for the second latest sphere so far. Makes even less sense than normal, though. Started with all the keys.

At this point I'm fully done with Z1 except Ganon blitz, only needing TFPs for that, and while there's still a couple of things I can grab in Prime, they're items that are either really far out of the way, or I don't know how to get them. So later on today or tomorrow morning I'll hint for my last artifacts to check if any are left in my game, then just wait unless something's hinted for. So please let me know if there's something you need from the 9-ish checks left in Prime.

Civilization 6 (Update 3)

Came back to something like 71 new techs and civics (about half of all the ones in the game). Represented a pretty significant boost to being able to do things.

Realized something between play sessions. Never got Shipbuilding. Allows all land units to embark, which is more than a little useful. Definitely saw it early on in the tree. Avoided it because of getting it in the first quick blitz game (...probably). Looked for that first. Already researched it. Ran across this bug before (and reported it). Occasionally eats a tech/civic like that. Solved it with a /resync. Downside: Re-sends a bunch of stuff to you, leading to lots of governor titles, envoys, and era score. Feels a little like cheating. Deserves it for being robbed like that. (Did not spend them all anyways.)

Screenshotted the land and two vampire castles (at the start of this session).

Settled along the river first. Expanded out beyond that. Created more Harbors than anticipated, although pretty bad ones. Saw very few sea resources.

Should have put Pingala in the capital. Shh. Fixed that later. Swapped out Magnus with the city that had Moksha for some forest chops.

Did not plan these castles super well. Should have placed the preserves better or tried to get them closer to (resource) industries. (Blames Horses for blocking one such area.) Focused on marshes more.

Switched to Theocracy temporarily and spammed out some Missionaries, Apostles, Rock Bands, and Naturalists. Thought about spreading religion on a bunch of cities with none as a backup. Ended up being unnecessary. (Removed the other religion in the game, though.) Carpeted the land, particularly the tundra, with forests and National Parks. Won with culture maybe 20-30 turns after starting. Quadrupled tourism output in that timeframe.

Notably won before the meteors starting falling. Reached level 4 climate change or so. Grew a little concerned as Germany started polluting a lot without the carbon recapture project to stop it.

Kind of lucked out in this game. Started on the continent with only one AI. Went in with the gameplan of culture, faith, and preserves with a few large cities. Received the holy sites and one preserve. Failed to get any settler production or builder charge policy cards until late (good for pumping out cities). Locked most improvement bonuses to the later half of the seed too. Could have easily gone the other way.

Played a little too cautiously, militarily. Entered a Dark Age once all game. (Or was there a second Dark Age super early when it did not matter? Shrugs.) Could have conquered most of Portgual and kept them alive for tourism. Leads to resource monopolies, which is a big tourism multiplier.

Will probably not put Dramatic Ages in again. Tried it out once in Archipelago, at least. Kind of dislikes Heroes & Legends because of it messing up your culture theming screen when you use an Archaeologist on a Heroic Relic antiquity site. (Happens in vanilla Civ 6 too.)

Edit: Released all of Civ 6's items. Contained nothing too major. Might be useful for FFV, though.

Pokemon Crystal (Update 5)

Grabbed the last item of the seed. Headed to Red. Mewtwo before the fight:

[PokeCommunity.com] June 2025 Mini Archipelago (Complete)

Not spectacular, but strong enough. Rocked up to Red, expecting a rout. Saw maybe one thing at level 50 and nothing higher than that. Scaled levels by spheres (upon checking this in the spoiler log after the fact). Might be level 55 or something. Nooooope. Retained the vanilla levels. Greeted a level 81 Bayleef at the start.

Presented more of a problem, but nothing insurmountable. Won with the tried-and-true X item and healing spam. Amped up special to get a strong Rollout. Smashed through a level 77 Mewtwo along the way.

Disliked the ending. Thought about boosting trainer levels for future runs. Outleveled most trainers. Creates an even bigger annoyance at the end, however.

Edit: Hold on. Looked at all the spheres. Shows the Rocket Hideout after beating Red. Psh. Why were they not level 80?
Also expected the Glacier Badge as the 16th badge. Interesting.

@Alex_Among_Foxes, I have your Triforce Pieces! When you enter the last dungeon, make sure you remember to get the Level 9 Key Drop (Patra Southwest), which has my half-cost Magic Upgrade.

I'll get that, no worries! And thanks for letting me know!

I forgot to mention this, but @Setsuna, I found both your Tablets in LttP yesterday.

Thanks!
And with that, FFV is complete! I went back to the age old strategy of "throw your entire wallet at the final boss until he dies" but I got really good use out of Dualcast on a White Mage and was able to basically just go full offense and not even have to prepare proper gear to deal with his attacks. It might have been the easiest time I've had fighting him, though I'm sure that's gotta be because of how many people managed to finish before me and how much I unlocked in terms of jobs and abilities. I've never had the pleasure of just using Freelancers against the final boss, but it was a painless easy clear. It was really nice to experience just how good summons (specifically Odin and Bahamut, oh my god) and spellblades were this playthrough. That's the best thing about FFV, the sheer variety of jobs and abilities means you can succeed in so many ways and try so many new things.

Thanks for the Archipelago! I already mentioned my thoughts on Circle of the Moon earlier and FFV is always a joy to play in Archipelago. The smaller size and faster pace of this one was really nice, while still allowing me to clear out every check in FFV and get a fuller experience. I don't think I have anything to say I didn't enjoy about this Archipelago, though I definitely still enjoy big ones with tons of checks more overall.

@5qwerty I've found your final Relics for your Heart run of Slay the Spire. Since you've received 29 items, and had 29 locations, there's no further items for your game anywhere else in the multiworld, and you have everything you'll need to goal.
