Zoolander 2 is just as good as the original. I don't know what people were saying when they said it was a bad movie. It started a little slow, but it just kept picking up speed as it went. If you liked the original you'll like the sequel.

what'd you think? I absolutely adored it the first time I watched it and it ruined my night. when I rewatched it I didn't like it quite as much but still think it's great.

i felt quite empty after watching it as i wasn't sure how i was supposed to feel - saddened? enlightened? shaken? joyful? i felt many different things over the course of the movie and was subsequently drained after watching it. but i guess the point was that i felt something and was invested in the experience, reflecting upon it afterwards. i'm not really sure what hertzfeldt set out to accomplish but i'll say he did his job, whatever it was.

Deadpool was the last thing I watched. I had plans to go see it at the cinema with somebody back in February but we both ended up forgetting about it.

Kinda glad about that though, I didn't like the movie much bar the credit sequence. That part was all kinds of awesome.

The last movie I watched was Fateful Findings by Neil Breen.
If you love so bad it's good movies like I do, you're gonna love this!

i last watched this taissa farmiga movie called 6 Years i had high expectations for on account of it being taissa

unfortunately the plot was terrible, taissa's character was absolutely horridly written (seriously, her reactions to the situations presented were as unrealistic as it gets, especially for such a slice of life film), and the ending attempted to leave more to be desired, but it just left a bitter taste in my mouth and a hope that ben rosenfeld's character has his own sequel so that i actually feel fulfilled in some way

I watched this awful movie called The Affair of the Necklace from around 2001, but it felt like it was made in the early 90s. The costumes where good, but that's about all you can say for it. The music was absolutely awful and was all over the place. A real mess. The plot had no emotion, no tension, no drama. Bland as white bread.

i've actually watched quite new releases in the past two weeks, i saw: now you see me 2, junglebook, alice through the looking glass, x-men apocalypse, neighbors 2, and the last 20 minutes of popstar.

i haven't watched the prequels to any of these but i'd say x-men was the best (even though it was long af) and popstar was the worst (not that I wasn't expecting it).

just watched Tokyo Story. jesus christ. heartbreaking film; really need to check more Ozu now. last night I watched the Big Star doc that came out a couple years ago, and, obviously, loved it. also watched Chungking Express for the umpteenth time a few nights ago; will be watching Fallen Angels tonight for the umpteenth time. actually, fuck it. let's do a list of my past month.

Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives: gorgeous, but inconsequential and too long. not sure I'm entirely on the Weeretherasekul [sic] train as of yet, but I'm gonna keep trying.
2046: very good, as to be expected from Kar-Wai. also a bit too long but still packs quite an emotional punch and the sci-fi elements were very interesting and, of course, gorgeous.
Grizzly Man: great. enthralling documentary that was in turn absolutely hilarious and deeply harrowing / sad.
Weiner: it was good. again, treads the hilarious / dark line very well, but feels a tad exploitative and ultimately inconsequential, especially towards the end when it turns into something of a high-speed real-time chase against a pornstar or something? which, I guess, is to its credit, considering that's absurd for a political documentary, but it just didn't add up to much.
Solaris: good but the weakest Tarkovsky I've seen. you really feel its 3 hours, unlike Stalker. undeniably gorgeous and the last 15-20 minutes especially are absolutely brilliant.
The Lobster: left the theatre feeling absolutely horrible, to its credit, but other than that it drags sooooo much, especially in the second half. did have a fair bit to say about love, though, which is always welcome. Lanthimos's style is definitely something of an acquired taste.
Hotel Chevalier / The Darjeeling Limited: the former sucked. the latter is underrated as hell, but Wes Anderson can, admittedly, do no wrong in my eyes.
Wings of Desire: so close to being amazing if it weren't for some kinda pointless bits. not as good as Paris, Texas, but close, and the b&w cinematography is gorgeous, as is a lot of the philosophical dialogue.
Belladonna of Sadness: crazy psychosexual surrealist anime from 1973. not bad.
Drugstore Cowboy: one of the weaker Van Sant films, but I still love the guy's style and William S. Burroughs as a junkie priest is something not to be missed.
