Close up you can tell from the animation that this is fake. Still a convincing attempt though.

Edit: Lol, yep. The August 1st trailer shows Fomantis using Razor Leaf (the move shown in that gif) against a Mudsdale with that exact same background. Definitely calling fake now.

If you look closer at the gif, you'll notice that the Pokemon doesn't have an attacking animation, which all Pokemon have.

Edit: I was viewing from my phone, and I actually missed the atrocious attacking animation, which still made it look so fake.

Look at the owl in battle, the animation is horrible. It's wings just go straight from closed to open. There's like 2-3 frames in the whole animation.

I could do that. :P

oh my god that's horrible xD The art style doen't even look like the official art!
 
Seeing that Rowlet "evo" just makes me scream fake, because not only does the animation look so poor and not like what an actual Pokemon 3D model does, but I also recognize the design of it as a previously once-believed-to-be-real fake art. Also, it's pure Grass-type and Rowlet itself is Grass/Flying.

If the design was real, I could imagine how divided the Rowlet fans could have gotten considering it's currently the most popular Alola starter.

Also as Clbgolden said, the gif looks like it ripped the scene of Fomantis using Razor Leaf on Mudsdale from the August 1st trailer. Definitely calling it fake.

There was one leak that mentioned certain older Pokemon getting new typing, which has since confirmed to be Alola Forms. However, that leak mentioned Ninetales would be Fire/Fairy while Alolan Ninetales is actually Ice/Fairy.

Another one is the Chinese leak that's been floating around for over a month now which has also had some statements from it turn out true, such as a Poison/Fire-type Pokemon (which we now know is Salandit) and also saying no Gyms in Alola.

The starter final evos' concept art (aka the one with Archer Rowlet, Heel Wrestler Litten and Siren Popplio) had gained credibility as of the August 1st trailer which revealed the Grass-type specialist Island Captain Mallow. In the piece of the art for Litten's final evo, Mallow is the same girl with the pigtails that appears in the art. The final evos in questions have not been officially confirmed at this stage (we'll likely have to wait until release to find that out) but Mallow's appearance does make it likely to be real.

This is definitely the one I'm gonna call BS on. ??? type only exists for a bug in the code and curse which was changed to ghost. Then the whole thing with pokemon being already planned out this much no way. 3 years at most.
 
Other than Corocoro is their any more updates on when we're getting news? Or do we just have to wait until September for more news?

Grass/Fairy Mega Lilligant, Starters' evolutions (confirming water/fairy popplio line), Alohan Butterfree, Pikipek and Komala evolutions all in one trailer?

This seems too good to be true! Really though, this seems too good to be true.

This is fake, I see, but had some cool ideas.

Besides the terrible animation and redesign of the "leaked" owl, black and white remakes would not come a year after D/P. They are within at least a 4 year radius from the last ones.

I do like the creativity these leaks can come up with though.
 
Ash Greninja as a Mega seems like a waste of Greninja's Mega to me.
Not to mention one Starter getting preferential treatment over its two partners makes me upset.
(Looking at you, two-Mega Charizard and early-Mega Blaziken...)
