Well since I used to be a mod.. yeah. And like.. since I know the rules and junk, I think doing it plus reporting is totally fine. Especially if in that same post you actually relate to the thread or topic at hand. Some mods here just infract without even telling the person what they did wrong...
So at least I can be informative.

When there are new members posting blatantly misplaced topics, I tell them what they did, direct them elsewhere, and report their topic. Just trying to be friendly. xD

Unfortunately, I have also fed trolls. That one dude who got booted after leik 15 minutes was still kinda funny. Yay for real mods! xD

I'm too cool to mini-mod.

This doesn't seem like a great time to post for me, because I have only just joined. I'd say that makes the answer pretty obvious, never, but really I wouldn't because there is a report button.

Whoa, I had no idea it was against the rules o_O I pretty much just say "Wrong forum, have it moved here, kthxbai :l" and if it's a question, I typically answer it. I hardly ever PM mods just out of habit of playing RS and such where the mods are getting flooded with PM's.

If something is wrong with a thread like it's in the wrong section, I just report. I know mini-mod is against the rules, so that's why I don't mention in the thread that it's in the wrong section. However, there are a few times if there's a random thread I still reply real quick if there's a question asked I would try to help or state my ophinion. Also, if I feel the members are really insulting, I would mention because actually I think they should so that they have crossed the line. Those could be considered mini-modding I guess to many, but I feel it's a good idea to help someone if they have a question or mention if they're going too far.

I too don't like it when people said they reported because it breaks the rules and such (yeah I said I reported at times, but I'm not telling where :x ). Not only that is mini modding to me, but you open yourself to flames and trolls.

I think I've got a warning for mini-modding in the section I now moderate. Talk about irony. (b'-')b

Not by itself. I usually only mention something if I planned on posting anyway. It's really annoying when people DON'T answer and just say that it's in the wrong forum. At least add something. :/

Before I was a mod I never did because I knew I'd get a warning for it.
And then the mods wouldn't like me ;-;

I would never mini-mod. That's why we got real Mods around to do that kind of stuff and the report button. In all honestly, I can't stand them. They ain't Mods anyway, so they better stop acting like them.

Ugh, I hate mini-modders.

1) STFU. If there's something that wildy goes against PC rules, report it. YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY.

2) You just end up creating bigger problems. Like when people post in topics that are spam, simply to say "You shouldn't spam". USE THE REPORT BUTTON.

3) You look stupid :>

Blah. That wasn't really a rant because I wasn't actually as mad as I sounded, but blah xD

The report button exists for a reason, and yet so many ignore its existence. It's so lonely. :( Next time you get the urge to act above your station and make yourself look stupid just press the report button! :)

Uh, no. Not anymore, I mean. Since, I still have a phobia of mods.

Epic Lol.

I usually just go and press that lonely button below the post, but when it's a post in DPPt or Wi-Fi (Home FTW!), I usually post something relative to the comment, make a suggestion on where posts like the one made should go and THEN report. So that isn't as mini-modding as others; that's just some friendly advice - so many I give in DPPt, to be precise... xD

I'm.. not sure that I ever mini-modded, at least not that I can remember. I might've once or twice when I was a newbie here, but then again.. I don't think I would've comfortable enough to. xD;

If I did, and one of the staff members caught it.. they never confronted me about it, or gave me any warning usernotes.

I used to on another forum until the mod of the site personally came at me for minimodding. That...kinda stopped it.

I rarely do; I report it and move on, most of the time. Other times, I'll just say "wrong forum lolz >_>"; that's most of the minimodding I do these days, and I really shouldn't even be doing that...
