Are there any Pokemon moves you find just....unsettling disturbing or just plain scary? Because I want to apply to this to all of the forms of Pokemon media, not just the game, I wanted to put this in Pokemon General. Some of the moves in the surely have unsettled people there, too.
The move Destiny Bond is this for me. While it only takes the foe down with it if you make it faint on the turn it's used, it's really unsettling to imagine a Pokemon taking your Pokemon down with them. I know Pokemon don't die, but still.
Perish Song is also a little unsettling for me, but only in Mystery Dungeon. In Mystery Dungeon, if Perish Song hits you, you will "take calamitous damage" after walking around for a few turns and I don't think you can heal off the perish song status with anything except a Heal Seed or moving to the next floor quickly. In Pokemon, you can avoid fainting from Perish Song by switching your Pokemon out. I don't know, I just find it a little unsettling that you could be hit by perish song, walk on the floor and then just... "Take calamitous damage" and faint right then and there.
Every single one hit knock out move. Just, all of them. Especially Guillotine, though, considering the historical use of the guillotine was used to... well, you know what it did. Maybe just Guillotine unsettles me, though, to be honest. It's because of what a guillotine was in history that makes me just disturbed by it. I wish Pokemon would have named this move something else. I'd be a lot less disturbed by it if weren't called that.
Outside of the games...
Bite in Pokemon Origins. Remember when Squirtle used Bite on Charmander and Squirtle was literally screaming? This was apparently so disturbing the dub toned this scene down. If you ask me, that's a little messed up.
Hypnosis in the anime, too, being able to control an entire mob of Pokemon. Meowth, too, but to a lesser extent since the Ghost Pokemon I think were using Meowth to speak their feelings through him?
For me, that's it, though.
