My Thoughts Keep Me Up At Night.

What keeps you awake at night? Basically, what I'm asking is if you deal with insomnia. How quickly can you fall asleep at night?

I've suffered with insomnia for the greater part of my life. It definitely keeps me up at night watching movies, listening to music, playing video game, hanging out at the server, etc. My mind races whenever I try to sleep and I simply give up on it. Luckily I've adjusted to sleeping on low hours, but it'd be ideal not having insomnia 8(

Skype calls keep me up at night, but that's okay because your voices are to my ears like honey in tea. Too sweet and not really necessary, but just knowing it is there makes things more okay.

I'm fairly grounded in my sleeping patterns. I'm used to going to bed and getting up at set times, so my body is fairly accomodating in that regard most of the time. Unless I'm stewing over something it takes me about half an hour to fall asleep - sometimes longer, but rarely longer than hour - I wake up once or twice during the night, and then I doze for an hour or so before I get up.

I do go through occasional bouts of insomnia that last for a week or so where I just cannot get to sleep, and whenever I have a cold I'm lucky if I get an hour of uninterrupted sleep until it goes away, but for the most part my ability to sleep is one of the few things that I don't have any issues with. If I'm having trouble sleeping I try and think of something different and distract myself until I drift off. It *usually* works.

Nearly every single time, yes. DX I deal with the fact that my brain can't settle down either. I like to blame a lot of it on my Concerta. It's an extended release medication, and it often makes it hard to sleep. I've tried everything to calm myself to even lowering the dosage some. None of these things did me any good. :c So, I often have to deal with bouts of insomnia on most nights! It doesn't help that I have a bunch of things going either due to routine. I've tried breaking some of those habits, but it only increases my tension and anxiety. Like I said, it's a strict routine that normally isn't hard to break free from. I do get some sleep, but I also wake up a lot during the night as well. ><

Usually, when I can't sleep... I give up. I'll play Pokemon or write on my iPad. I'll even browse PC at times too. I'll often come out into the living room, depending on the time as well. I don't always get the living room TV during the day because my dad dominates it during that time. So, if I'm in the mood for it at the time, I might watch Live TV like cartoons or do some movie watching on Netflix.

basically i can easily turn off my thoughts and fall asleep, but in my bed is my favorite time to think about things

Being unable to sleep when I want to is always a huge problem on school nights. Whenever that happens, listening to music or playing video games in bed will eventually tire me out, but on the weekends I might stay up with my equally-insomniac friends until I crash.

I am one with insomnia. I've literally suffered from insomnia since I was a baby. My mother can't recall a night when I was a baby that I slept the whole night, while my brother has his whole life since he was like 8 months old.

I take medication for it because it was so bad it was really having a very negative impact on my life and health. The most I went without sleep because of it was a little short of 70 hours.

Well it depends on what I'm doing...
Sometimes it's music
Sometimes movies
Sometimes texting people
Sometimes cough syrup
Sometimes food
A lot of times texting people
Most of the time texting people

Thinking about how screwed I am for the assignment I'm working on due tomorrow morning - for every single assignment.

I get insomnia sometimes due to my thoughts. They just come racing through, like sometimes I'll think of past events and how I could have done them better. This doesn't happen too much, but it's really irritating when it does ;u;
