4th Gen Official 3rd Game Information/F.A.Q.

Well, I am now even more eagerly awaiting the release. From these new clearer shots, I can say I am really liking the look of Lucas in this game. I think his outfit looks so much better than the DP one. I really like the sprite for Giratina's origin form, too. The only qualms I have are the fact that if there is no platform underneath all defending Pokemon, it may be difficult to adjust to and make things look out of place. Also, I think it would have been more fitting to find Dialga, Palkia and Giratina at Lv. 70, not 47. Ah well.

All I need to find out now is a place where I will be able to get an American import where the price won't be extorsionate, as the shop where I bought my American Pearl from has now closed down, literally a week after I bought the game. As I can't read japanese, it's the only prudent thing I can do...

Anyway, there's not really much point in ripping Giratina's sprite anymore, since it's already done. I look forward to seeing the other ones though.

EDIT: There probably will still be a platform most of the time, but if you look at the screenshot, it appears to be in another dimension or travelling between them. Also, it renders it uncatchable, as the Pokéball cannot land anywhere.
 
Really? Cool can you make an ow of it cause then I can do special things with it ;). Also that special page is nice Im wondering when we can get it fully.

I know it could be a little early to tell, but Serebii has already updated it's Pokédex with the origin form (as sprites and height/weight at least) but I was wondering if anyone had some opinions about it's base stats? Heres the normal (Another) form's base stats:

HP: 150
Atk: 100
Def: 120
Sp. Atk: 100
Sp. Def: 120
Spd: 90

Now, my guess is, from previous form swaps, we are likely to see Hp/Speed and Attacks/Defences switched. Which means:

HP: 90
Atk: 120
Def: 100
Sp. Atk: 120
Sp. Def: 100
Spd: 150

Looking at this, it may seem to be too overpowered. Base 100 defences with huge attack stats, massive speed and quite a diverse movepool.

EDIT: Deoxys-A has the same speed, but much higher attack. The stats you're describing would be like a faster, but less powerful, Dialga/Palkia.

Oh, and DeanoDance, you've kinda ruined the one in your sig by saving it as a JPEG. Save as PNG next time ;)

Pokémon Platinum ( Poketto Monsutā Platima, Pocket Monsters Platinum?) is a sequel to the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl role-playing video games, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS.

According to the May 15th Edition of the popular Japanese Magazine CoroCoro, Poketto Monsutā Platima is currently in the works. It will be the final game of the Sinnoh series, and it will feature several new changes. Pokemon Platinum follows the same patterns as Pokémon Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald.

According to a rumor, the game will be released in Japan in September. Those who reserve the game in advance will receive a ticket to get an egg that will hatch into a Shinx that knows a special move.

New Features
*The game is most likely set for a September 2008 release in Japan. *Giratina will be featured on the box cover.
*The game will contain no new Pokémon.
*Much like the Battle Frontier of Emerald, Platinum will feature a Battle Island.
*The Underground will now be Wi-Fi capable.
*Volkner is no longer a Gym Leader of Sunyshore City.
*Giratina will feature an "Origin Form", which is worm-like and has the Levitate ability
*Regigigas will have a "Sky Form", also having the Levitate ability
*Shaymin will have "Another Form" which will be part Ice-type
*There will be new outfits for the protagonist characters

An earlier comment suggested a dragon leader would take Volkner's position. Why? I mean the city is based around electric and water. So I would assume if it's not another electric gym leader, it'd be a water type as Sunyshore has a lot of water around it, meh there already is a water gym leader so... Erm, I don't know.. Secondly I agree with Wichu, it looks as though the battle scene is the player and Giratina in another dimension or at least going through one. Maybe you have a task to do before obtaining it. Maybe you have to defeat it and go to it's orginal sanctuary to catch it. Also agree with Deano, I would rather like to see Dialga and Palkia at Lv. 70. However, I wouldn't mind Giratina at 47. Overall Diamond and Pearl need a level upgrade with everything, seems too easy these days. Meh, I'm okay with Giratina's origin form, but I've disliked that form overall from the get-go. Just looks ugly to me. >_>

On the stats, Giratina would remain uber. As it's stats reach over the 600 point... A 150 base speed with great offense and health/defense. Simply put, it's uber.

Am I the only one that thinks the red lightning and purple in the game label are to show what the inverse universe is like.
Αlso I realized something that made me think that coro-coro translations made the internet go into the bigest most retarded buzz about pokemon having different forms. I dont know if serebii realized anything but if you look at giratinas dex entry one form is hhhmmm origin and the other is:another. SO WAIT. Your teliing me that shaymin and giratina have forms with the same exact name?! I know nintendo is new to putting forms of pokemon but come on even they wont do a stupidity like that. Just for you all to know im going back to my idea that shayim is the one thats flying and thats it. I mean doesnt the name giratina and the flying bouquet mean anything! FLYING BOUQUET. FLYING FLOWER ARRANGMENT. COME ON.

I'm definitely with Dakrcookie with this one. I still can't wait, and i wonder what time it will be released. I also agree with the "inverse universe" theory Darkcookie has also said. I still have no idea about the "new forms", but i'd love to know as soon as possible.. i hate not knowing! The Coro coro translations ARE getting in a buzz over the internet.. still, can't wait to hear OFFICIAL official news that all this is true..
 
Tolberone dont back me up to much. People will flame us again and I dont want that. But on the other hand thnx cause that theory hit me like pie on a clown. Also what do you reckon battle island would be like? And is that new battle screen cool or what. Also why did no one notice the backround is purple? Its clearly obvious theres an inverse universe. Also I think the new interface cleans up the touch screen are cause that confused me as hell.
 
The purple background is indicating that it's a night-time battle, or in a dark cave.

There's a really, really big chance that you're just being dumb and trying to get more out of the logo than there is, darkcookie. I think the lightning is just there to make it look flashy.

This is an observation that I'm pretty sure 50% of the fandom, not to mention Digimon fans, noticed back in the day when Giratina's origin form was released.

Slap the word "Mode" in there instead of "Form", and you've got yourself a Digimon rip-off.

Seriously, I love both games/money cows equally, maybe Digimon a bit more, but I want the Digimon out of my Pokémon.

"Giratina! Form Change To!! Giratina Origin Form!!"

For awhile now, Digimon have been getting alternate modes to the same Digimon that serve as a power up without evolving, such as (We'll use one of my favorites) Beelzebumon - Beelzebumon Blast Mode, where he gains wings and a larger gun.

It's always some change that makes them look a little different, but you can tell what they are by looking.

Pokémon is starting to adapt to this, starting back with Deoxys.

And guys...

The third games you're talking about would be in Blue, Crystal, and Emerald, additions to Red and Green, Gold and Silver, and Ruby and Sapphire, respectively.

Yellow was made after Blue, and it was a tie-in to the Anime, not intended to be one of the "versions", as it was originally just called "Special Pikachu Edition". It IS one of the individual versions, but Blue brought around the changes that would be the Crystal and Emerald equivelants of that generation. Yellow just allowed you to follow the journey as if you were Ash. (notice how no other game took clues from the anime)

It is rude to call Darkcookie a moron.. also, that is not a really a valid reason for editing lol.. and the reason i want to know when its released is because i CAN'T WAIT for the release.. does anyone know for sure when it will be released? I can't wait for Platinum also because we will be able to catch all three of those Pokémon by the sound of it.. what with Dialga, Palkia and Giratina in that picture.
 
It was how you asked, lol, I was teasing. You said "What time is it being released?", as in time of day. My guess is midnight.


No, in all actuality, people are speculating September, but I don't think there's an official date other than "later this year".
 
What I'm not looking forward to is importing all my Pokemon to Platinum, having to get a new friend code, etc, just to play Battle Island and wifi underground. >_<
 
That wouldn't matter much to me.. i'd just start again with Pokémon Platinum, work my way up like i did with pearl.. September, eh..? Thats probably in Japan though.. our one will probably be sometime in Feburary.. if/when i do get Pokémon Platinum, i'd be quite sad to put away Pearl for a while.. hopefully Pokémon Platinum will be really good, i badly hope so!! Also looking forward to makeovers to places such as Spear Pillar.. looks interesting! I still won't know how they are going to re-make the storyline.. i hope it's a bit longer than D&P version, which, to me, was a bit "cut off".

Is that an offcial sprite or did you just make by recolouring and using the normal Giratina's shiny colours?

If that is the real one then I hope mine is shiny. :D

By the way, the main character's costume change doesnt matter because he is still the worst hero yet. Bring back the Emerald Hero!
