Nope, keeping him all to myself ;)

I don't think I will ever vote in my life.

I vote!

Or, I tried but I had to do it absentee and my mom didn't do the form right, so I didn't actually vote, but I tried to!

It's ever more difficult when you realize that you don't know what you're voting for. I've spent hours going through what I think the parties want to deliver, what I think they're likely to deliver, whether I care more about the party or the representative, and whether my vote would count for anything. I would like to send the Greens to Parliament because they have some very interesting ideas, but we all know that's not going to happen.

holy ♥♥♥♥ a cardinal just flew past my window

And the provincial election is today. You voting?
That reminds me about something I read about how in Malaysia they have a constitutional monarchy, and each province has a king where yearly one is selected to "represent" the country. It was the most interesting thing I saw in a while. :o

Have you ever used or heard of some online site that helps you choose? Or at least gives you an idea of which? Apparently my web development teacher developed that XD

I think there are...a lot of sites like that, haha.

The worst thing about politics is that you can't pick and choose. If you want someone who's liberal on the social issues, you have to pick the liberal candidate, even if you want someone conservative on economic issues.

Politics is really something I can't handle. I get that it's important, but... all I see come out of politics is anger. Politicians look angry and people who talk about politics sound angry and it just seems like something that makes people angry. I get that people are gonna be passionate about something that, like it or not, impacts everyone's life but... I still prefer to interact with it as little as possible. The only word I can think of something so able to make people so angry and yet be that tightly integrated into society is "toxic". Probably one of my more controversial and short-sighted opinions, that, but it's just how I see it. Until I see something making people happy rather than unhappy, I'm not gonna interact with it.

Not being able to pick and choose is why people become third party candidates!

But nobody cares about them. That's why politics is so great, because nobody cares about the guy that really cares. :)

Politics makes the people in charge of them happy because in the end it doesn't matter what decisions are made; they still get their salaries and pensions. It makes the people that decisions turn out properly for happy, too! Those against certain issues are delighted to see when bills aren't passed to support them, and on the likewise.

I don't see the passion and anger all that different from sports fanatics. Sports talk radio is as cooky as political talk radio. At least politics is actually important

Even though I'm invested in local and global politics very extensively, I find partisan republican elections and formalities a giant waste of time. The people put in your frontend government do not represent you; they represent wealthy special interest groups that fund their campaigns and refrain from assassinating them in exchange for their consent. The kind of politics I'm interested in leans more towards the views of those I respect and trust (for example the Dalai Lama) and the views of those who are really in charge and often function without obligation of representation, as unfortunate as the latter is. In the end it matters a lot more, as I've set myself aside from the partisan rat race that all amounts to null; doing so enables me to focus on the more pertinent issues at hand in our world today.

Who's excited for World Cup?

Something along the lines of "not me."

Also, I tried voting once. I didn't like it. My decisions made too many people unhappy, my candidate didn't win because most of America has their heads up their asses, and nothing really changed that much.
