Well, if you can look over like 50% of the documentation being a description of things that can cause undefined behavior, C might be interesting for some people, especially when developing software for Linux or other *nix systems. Never was a fan of C, though. Especially when you can have stuff like C++ or Objective-C that are basically C but with more/better features (although I haven't really bothered with Objective-C, tbh.).

C++ is nasty with how it maintains C compatibility, and it's my understanding Objective-C is for Apple operating systems, so... yeah. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I like C.

You're the third person I'm going to say this to (surprising, I know), but... move to Raleigh. Forbes has named it the second-fastest growing metro in the US, which means all sorts of new jobs and businesses. I've watched our shopping centre in Garner triple in size since I've been here (< 1 year), counting all the construction. I'll be doing IT here, and it's also the place to be for medical work. In any case infrastructure for that industry is meaningful, so yeah. Lots of jobs, and housing too.

You're right. Where I live is a small town, but I can drive 3-5 miles anywhere and be where places are, such as restaurants and shops.

Well, Singapore because of the scenery and extremely high density, and also hi-tech job pool.

Amsterdam, I dunno really... my uncle Joey went there to get away from things when his mother died. Even until he passed he had no problems with the city, God knows what he did to get by though...
 
Well, I can say it for sure sucks if you're poor. Things are awful if you're poor, but IF you can afford the $1,000+/mo rent with that job from the heavens, then go for it. Or maybe my mother's standards are really low because that's how much a house worth living in runs, just about.

This house running us $650/mo has all sorts of code violations, everything from the ungrounded three-prong outlets to the mold in the kitchen/bathroom, not to mention the Mexicans living here before us put the wrong kind of paint in the bathroom and fucked the walls all up. They also used a metallic scrubber on the hood of the stove and it looks rotten. Then there's the smoke residue everywhere.
 


Ain't that America. God I fuckin' hate this country.
 
I invite everyone to come live in the Netherlands. It's fun over here. Social safety, no police brutality, running water, zanger rinus, all good stuff.

I swear Raleigh is the only city I hear about when I hear about people who have moved out to NC. My brother lives there, I knew somebody else who had moved out there (though he's since moved back away, I think)...kind of crazy. Or creepy. I dunno which word exactly.

I actually know somebody who would rather move to the US than stay in his own country, surprisingly enough.
 
The United States is an awesome place to live. People just bitch way too much.
