I was asking if the other three that responded to the "best generation of pokemon" question were old enough to have played the first generation game when it came out...

Cause I was 8 when i first played, but I'm 3 years older than at least two of them, so I was wondering if they even played the original.

But as this topic is dead how about: What is your favorite pokemon moment ever (be it from real life experiences or in game, maybe even from pokemon snap!, maybe it was when al gore claimed he created pokemon and the internet....)?
 
Ok, *claps and jumps for joy* It took a couple months, but I finally have an Espeon! XD

Indeed I was. A six year old, I believe.

However, my favourite generation is the second, for reasons known to most. It introduced the best region ever made; Johto and it introduced some of the best Pokèmon ever created, like Ampharos, and Lugia.

First was good too. Can't stand the third and the fourth.
 
My favourite generation is Gen II. Why?

It was and still is IMHO the best pokemon game in terms of the content it provided.
So many new things that most of which are still with us today.

I just wish they would bring back the whole different region after the E-4 thing.

Well... not to be a math guy here... but you're age says you're 13, and the games originally came in out in america 10 years ago as of this september... so wouldn't you have been closer to 4 years old?

Though... it has been suspected the Oni Raichu PC member is actually both genderbending and agebending...... [/teasing Raishu]

I will start a new Crystal game soon I think. Just because I can. And want to experience Johto again.
Or perhaps I should try ShinyGold? What do you think?

I think you shold try Shiny Gold, It's a really cool Rom Hack. Johto Is a great region anyway.
 
Have you played ShinyGold? Is it a good replica (haha replica.. don't know if that's the right term ^^) of the Johto region?

I just watched the very first episodes of Kanto Pokémon series.

You know how different Pikachu was there? It was actually CUTE. really really really cute. I love that early Pikachu. Pity they made it so silly nowadays :/
 
Yeah, I've played Shiny Gold; Great game.

Pikachu Is a Lot more loyal now to Ash I think.
 
Well of course it is........... But it's the way it behaved overall. The feeling was sooo different in the very earliest eps of Pokémon anime...

AND! Back then, real animals existed. I saw a Pidgey eat a worm in the very first ep.......... Nowadays, there are only Pokémon in the pokémon world, no?
 
I HAVE checked it out before.. just never got around to play it for more than a couple of minutes... ^^

And he was fat and übercute. Übercute. When Ash says "If you've got a problem, open your mouth and say it!" And Pikachu opens its mouth and just stands there..... aaaah it's cute! And then it sits on a tree branch and laughs at Ash. It's something you never see these days. Pokémon was a different thing in the beginning. More serious in some way, actually, despite what people say about this newest season getting more serious bad guys and all...

Samu3l, it's called Pokémon world because Pokémon live in it instead of animals, right? :P

Or do you wonder why they are called Pokémon?
 
I think Pocket Monsters is cooler.. you know.. just because it has the word Monster in it XD

True, Fable, Pikachu had a better personality at first. Right now, it's no fun..

lol, I tend to like pikachu more these days, it was ugly sprite wise and anime wise back in the day ;P

But I liked pikas personality in the beginning, like a rebel

Pokemon or Pocket Monster? mmmm Ill take Pocket monster, I dont like sounding like digimon :\

Poketto monsuteru has to be the japanese name or something like that.... ^^

Pocket Monsters, they couldn't call it that in English, because some other brand was already called that. I like that name better though :/ Though, Pokémon really is smooth and easy. Hm... did Digimon really come before Pokémon? :S

And Samu3l, no. My friend downloaded the first three seasons. We watched them high quality (well, relatively high). I can't find them on youtube in english and good :/
