FireRed hack: Pokémon Shiny Gold!

The discord you asked for is dead. In the past there was a project for Shiny Gold X based on Hacksrepairmans finished version of Shiny Gold, cause Shiny Gold X is still in beta 5. But I've decided to stop this project, Shiny Gold itself is very ancient and there is a lot of stuff to redo for a more modern, polished hack. Plus there are so many modern Johto / Gen2 hacks out there to play and I don't have enough free time to do all this as single person. It would take countless hours to complete all my ideas and my lack of skills to fix some problems, this would only be possible in a project together with hacksrepairman and I totally understand that redo hacks the way I planned is not what he focuses on. So Shiny Gold X, respectively the new one, is no longer alive. Sorry guys!

damn, sad to read this, you did so much for shiny gold over the years! Shiny Gold was always a historic/monumental hack to me, so it always had value to me, even as it became dated and outperformed by newer hacks. I really appreciate the work you put in spider2MW and wish you all the best with any of your future projects, whatever they may be! I hope this appreciation is matched by some others in the community and it reaches you!

I do remember modern Shiny Gold projects getting a little confusing with there being a bunch in active development at one point, does anyone here know the status of the various versions? I wonder if they're all similarly discontinued! I also wonder how "complete" each one is and it might be worth me going on a nostalgia run through the latest versions, now they're likely to be the last. If no one knows the answer and I don't get a reply here to this I will still do a deep dive and find this information myself too! So maybe I can update here once I find that.

Hey hi all. New person here. I started to play Shiny Gold X, and cause of bug I got stuck somewhere. So I'm here to ask for a favour ... If anyone has latest non bugged version of game, so (s)he can upload it on cloud and give me link? I would love to properly pass this game, but since I got bug stuck, I can't atm. I know game is still work in progress, but ...... Yeah. Thanks.

I made my account to just leave a mark of my thoughts and possibly, little impact on Shiny Gold X.

That's no argument, very invalid. Just because there are modern hacks, doesn't mean Shiny Gold X had to be abandoned, especially, when it was close to finish ( at least should have given us finished KANTO .. ). Some people like retro / older games, some prefer newer. If normal Shiny Gold was finished, was it really hard to implement the same chagnes to shiny gold X ? while keeping the lvl curve, which in my opinion, was perfect - not too hard, not too easy. Games feels very rewarding, but not boring and easy, such as normal gen 2 difficulty. The last few days I was playing like crazy - tested various pokemon teams, hatched some eggs with egg moves ( for example my hoothoot has aerial ace from breeding with spearow, my onix has rock slide from breeding with nosepasss etc. ).

I understand, if you were alone, but from what I've read in the older posts, there were few people who were interested in helping and finishing Shiny Gold X. Even in the 2021 it was released the 2021 X version, which I succesfully downloaded the file from here ! I wonder how far can I go in Kanto with this 2021 X version ?

I really hope one day the finished version of Shiny Gold X will come out, as for me, this was my first romhack with excellent level curve with little changes. I can not play the normal gold, or shiny gold, cause it so easy and not challenging... There's also crystal legacy, but I don't like some of the changes and pokemon availability, also level curve is pretty bad at the begining.

This game still has SO MUCH POTENTIAL for us, old fans and gen2 lovers .... If theres Shiny Gold X version with completed kanto and nearly finished story, I'd love to play it ! And im sure not only me. Zel deserves Shiny Gold X to be finished, just like normal Shiny Gold....

the reads as very entitled, no one ever owes you volunteering their time to fan games.

I'd love to see every version complete too, but I don't think a message like this will do any good to help towards that goal
 
It is not that easy to simply move over changes from the latest Shiny Gold version to the old Shiny Gold X. There are many bugfixes in Shiny Gold, so the only way would be to build up a new Shiny Gold X from the ground based on the latest Shiny Gold. Maybe some day I become rich and do not have to go to work anymore, probably the only chance to bring this one back again xD So we will see ^^

But anyway, thank you for your feedback!
 
Where's the link with the latest update of this hack and is there a documentation with all it's features?
