STAGE 13 - ROUTE 6

Spoiler:

Route 6, the treacherous desert road which stretches between Hammerlocke and the mountainous city of Stow-on-side. The dry and dusty climate of the area is only exacerbated by the summer heat, and gets even more unbearable once the difficult mountain path is reached. A fitting physical challenge, however, as at the end of it lies the fighting-type gym run by Bea, and the ghost-type gym run by Allister.

The first half of the route is a sandy desert, frequented by fire-types and ground-types who enjoy the heat, though they are sparse due to the lack of vegetation. You can find some oases with more abundant life in shaded areas, however, and they are popular with travelers as rest stops- just be careful not to get stung by an angry Skorupi. The second half of the route is a mountain hike- though the heat remains unrelenting, and coupled with strong winds, make this an even more difficult path. The mountains are home not only to Pokemon, though, but also to centuries of history. From mysterious statues and ruins to fossil Pokemon hidden away in the rock, this part of route 6 is as popular with hikers as it is with researchers, so you can expect to come across more people in this part of the desert.

As the journey to the second bracket of gyms begins, what will the sands of fate hold for our heroes? New adventures, new friends, and ever more memories await the graduates of the Wedgehurst class as they continue their travels.

MISSIONS:

[OPEN][CATCH CHANCE] Mission 1:
Despite being a desert, Route 6 is still home to a few water-types, who live in the shallow ponds and watering holes strewn about the shaded areas of the mountains and which eventually connect to the sea. Fishing here is quite different than in rivers or the ocean- a local sport is mud-fishing, where participants use their bare hands to grab fish out of the water and potentially capture them. Want to try your hand at it?
Reward: Soft Sand

[CATCH CHANCE] Mission 2:
The desert is harsh and unforgiving, and many a traveler can succumb to its blazing heat if unprepared, or worse, succumb to the Pokemon ready to take down weakened prey. One such Pokemon is a Mandibuzz: seeing you, a lone trainer, travel through the sands, it has decided to follow you from above in the hopes that the heat finishes you off and it can make a snack out of you. It looks like it's getting impatient and considering attacking you though… what will you do?
Reward: Rare bone + Mandibuzz catch chance

[CATCH CHANCE] Mission 3:
The sound of commotion coming from a short distance away catches your attention. As you go to investigate the source of the noise, you discover a unique sight: a family of the rare Pokemon Fennekin, hunting what looks to be a poor Maractus trying to spread its seeds for the season. The lone grass-type isn't faring too well against these empowered fire Pokemon, and hops to you for help. Will you battle your way through this, or sort it out in a civil way?
Reward: TR Spiky Shield

Mission 4:
The leader of Stow-on-side's ghost gym, the mysterious Allister, has traveled to the sands of Route 6 to investigate a rise in the population of non-Galarian Yamasks in the area. He has come to the conclusion that it was likely due to illegal breeding- though the Yamask population seems to coexist fairly easily with the other local wildlife, so there doesn't seem to be any issue. Since the gym leader doesn't seem busy now, maybe he'll humour you for a friendly battle…?
Reward: Phantom Force TR or Shadow Ball TR

Mission 5:
As you pass by a resting stop, you are approached by a merchant hailing from Stow-on-side. The woman explains to you that she are a vendor of custom perfumes and cosmetics, and uses rare maractus flowers for the process- unfortunately, it appears her most recent batch has been stolen by a group of jealous Cacnea, and she has no Pokemon of her own to get it back. Could you help?
Reward: Sachet + Tutor move: Aromatherapy/Sweet Scent

[OPEN] Mission 6:
After just a few hours of walking on the sharp rocks of the Stow-on-side mountains, you begin to realize you probably should've brought the proper footwear for this environment- at this rate, your shoes are going to be torn to shreds. Luckily, a rest stop near the base of the mountain happens to be selling hiker equipment- and boots too! They seem to have a sort of 'hikers-only' club membership though… Maybe could you convince them to let you buy a pair with a battle?
Reward: Heavy Boots (for you and your Pokemon)

Mission 7:
The rocky desert mountains which Stow-on-side sits on are rife with history- both human and natural, and this of course means plenty of fossils for archaeologists to harvest. Abigail Johnson, niece of the famous researcher Barnabus Johnson, has just completed her latest expedition, and collected many artifacts to examine back at their lab in Turffield. However, She seems to be in quite the pickle: a cave-in has left her trapped in her excavation site, and the next group isn't coming for another week! Perhaps if you help her, she'll reward you with a potential Pokemon.
Reward: Sail Fossil OR Root Fossil
(Note: Fossils can be revived at the Stow-on-side research lab. If you complete this mission with another player, it is possible to get both fossils.).

[MULTI][CATCH CHANCE] Mission 8:
After the notorious Cara Liss' exile from the scientific community and her (dubiously acquired) archaeologist license being taken away, the researcher has decided to lay low for now, and hidden away her fossil-reviving technology in a mysterious cave along Route 6. She has left an apprentice behind, however. Her loyal Archeops, which guards the forbidden fossils, has been instructed to give them to anyone he deems worthy. If he does, he will allow you to use the fossil-reviving machine. What kind of creature will you create?
Reward (pick two different fossils):
- Fossilized Fish x Dino = Arctovish
- Fossilized Dino x Bird = Arctozolt
- Fossilized Drake x Bird = Dracozolt
- Fossilized Fish x Drake = Dracovish
Note: A maximum of four people can take this mission, please pay attention to what Pokemon is already taken.

[CATCH CHANCE] Mission 9:
It looks like the rangers were able to sedate, capture and release the rampant romantic Boldore from Hammerlocke without issues- unfortunately for our heartbroken friend, they mistakenly released him into Route 6 rather than his home of Dusty Bowl. Nothing to deter his infatuated adventurous spirit however: Boldore has continued its quest for love, but is now unfortunately defacing local heritage sites, mistaking the ancient statues as fellow rock-types.
Reward: Boldore with three roses in its mouth

Mission 10:
Looking at the intimidating mountain range before you and the exhausting climb ahead, you begin to wish that you could just skip the entire thing and hop onto a Pokemon to fly above the peaks. It's a trainer tradition and even an expectation to train and complete a journey on your own two feet - but skipping one bit wouldn't hurt, right? As you contemplate this, you come across a Corviknight cabbie who has stopped for a rest. He explains his Pokemon was injured mid-flight and requires time to recover and rest, and he has an urgent delivery to make on Stow-on-side… perhaps a trainer like yourself has a healing item to help?
Reward: TM Fly

Mission 11:
The ladder networks used to access the path to Stow-on-side are essential for trainers to easily and quickly make it through the longer parts of the trek. Unfortunately, some have been damaged by local wildlife or the weather and closed off for construction- but the blistering heat has prevented crews from working on it recently. You could try to help cool them down, or even fix the ladders yourself - and there's always a reward for your trouble.
Reward: TM Rock Climb + Heavy Ball

People keep asking me to join, so here's my attempt. Let me know if I need to change anything?

Name: Big John MacDonald (John is his middle name) His name is technically Big, but he'll also accept John. Lots of folks combine them, call him Big John. Others call him Big Mac, like the burger. He's fine with all of them.

Age: 24

Gender: He/Him

Hometown: Originally from Floccesy Town in Unova, Big John came to live with his aunt and uncle in Turffield, before moving out to Wedgehurst later on.

Physical Appearance:
Spoiler:

True to his name, Big Mac is a large man, precisely six foot tall and over 250 pounds. He's solid and blocky, with a square jaw and wide shoulders, though his six pack is more of a keg, if you catch my drift, with some padding over his muscles. His sandy blond hair is kept in a mullet, barely contained under his trucker hat, although he shaved his scruffy beard recently to look more presentable for the Gym challenge. That's also why he traded his usual tank top and flannel shirt for a more respectable polo, though he still wears his work boots.

Strengths:
Strength - working on a farm has its perks, and John has the muscle and the stamina to work hard all day if needed. He's translated this into a very hands-on training style with his Pokémon, and he'll jump in to wrassle with them and teach them a few moves.

Practical Wisdom - Big has picked up plenty of skills in his life, and learned some hard lessons along the way. He's rather laid-back and easy-going as a result, easy to get along with and willing to share what he's learned. He's a good listener, and won't interrupt, even if he's not much of a talker on his own.

Heroic Build and Mind - if there's trouble around, if there's a problem to solve, if someone needs help, Big John MacDonald will be there to lend a hand, however he can. No problem is too small, no challenge too daunting, no request too strange, he believes in doing his part to help others, and that the world would be a better place if everyone showed a little more love and friendship.

Weaknesses:
Gullible - for as quick to act and as skilled as he is, John is far too trusting of people. He's easily tricked, and people often take advantage of him whether they intended to or not. He has a hard time saying no, and never learns from his mistakes, repeatedly falling into this trap.

Stubborn - once he gets an idea into his head, he's determined to see it through. He often makes things harder on himself than he needs to, and doesn't like to accept help. He hasn't hit rock bottom yet, but he likely won't learn until he does. His pride won't let him.

Predictable - Big is all force and no finesse. He never learned what strategy is, and just throws himself and his Pokémon at a challenge until he wins, or more often, he loses. He's tried changing his approach, but never grasped the root problem.

Aspirations: Traveling around and getting stronger are all well and good, but Big John wants to make a difference. His younger sister is a Ranger, and she always has some story of rescuing a Pokémon or saving a town, like some kind of superhero or something, and he wants that. He wants to help people and get credit for it, to be known for great deeds instead of just staying on the farm and doing chores.

Rival: The thought of having a rival never occurred to Big Mac, but he's open to something casual, maybe a fight on the weekend or something. He's new to the rival scene and isn't sure what he wants out of a relationship yet.

Pokémon:
Chalupa the Pignite (Male)
Ability: Thick Fat
Moveset: Tackle | Curse | Ember | Odor Sleuth | Flame Charge | Arm Thrust
Big's starter, a gift from his grandfather Old John MacDonald. Evolved into Pignite after their battle against Milo.

Bullrush the Tauros (Male)
Ability: Intimidate
Moveset: Tackle | Tail Whip | Work Up | Bulldoze | Assurance | Horn Attack
Borrowed from his uncle in Turffield, John was allowed to keep Tauros after using him against Milo, on account of how well John directed him and how much Tauros enjoyed the fight. (Traded for the Vulpix he caught during his first attempt to fight Kabu.)

Honeycrisp the Appletun (Female)
Ability: Thick Fat
Moveset: Headbutt | Sweet Scent | Leech Seed | Protect | Bullet Seed | Recover
Captured on Route 5 while looking for food. As an Applin she didn't participate in fights, but after helping an old lady carry her groceries John was given a special apple that allowed Honeycrisp to evolve.

Roleplay Sample: From Hoenn Square One: Ed vs Merry Part 2

Val being a treasure and having one brian-cell in Spear in a few lines (°◡°♡)

***

"The name's Valerie! But you can call me Val," Valerie introduced. "My friend here is a Cyndaquil! I called him Flame. Did you know? When he's ready to battle, his back lights on fire! Cool, huh? Or should I say.... hot! Hah, get it? Hot?"

***

"Care to repeat what I said in your own words, then?"

"No prob, teach!" Valerie reassured. "The pokemon world is uh... something something something, because we live with pokemon and um... something about mysteries and journeys because we are all friends and that's why we have um... something, because of something else! See? Told ya'!"

***

"No kidding?" Valerie turned to the young Torchic, but stood in thought. "Ahh, that's a ... Wait, wait, don't tell me! The… Water-type, Torkoal! Or was it the Fairy-type, Torterra…"

***

"Haaah? Dangerous?" Valerie inquired, rubbing her temple with her two index fingers. It looks like she had no idea. But perhaps… "Ooooh, Mel-Mel, are you talkin' about those Mankey? Causeeeee Peko already dealt with them all. Like, imagine playing a game of UNO-WN and having a card that makes your opponent draw like, the entire deck. And wins you the game."

***

"Awww yeahyaaaz! HOW ARE Y'ALL DOIN'! Thaaaaanks! Thanks soooo much you guys! You all spin me right round baby, right round, round like a Spinda baby! WOOO!" Even as she stood upon the stage with the rest of the trainers on the stage, she continued to shout and cheer with all her might.

***

"Oh, well," Markus was caught off guard. Perhaps he said too much, but, at the same time, he felt at ease sharing. "Well you see, my parents left me as a kid. Apparently when my mom had me, dad was already long gone."

"Aw, no..." Valerie grieved. "Like... wham, bam, thank you ma'am? Gone?"

***

"Woah." Melody leans over the table to take a look at the picture. Suddenly she doesn't feel so bad about wondering if Valerie was going to make it out of the wild area alive. Angry Mankeys, homicidal Mimikyus... murderers, apparently. "Does it say how he died? Gun shot, stab wound?"

Valerie vigorously nodded to Melody. "Ripped apart! Like, SHRED! SLICE! WOOSH!" Valerie's description was a bit out there. "And get this! They were killed by that serial murderer: Avril Morris!"

***

"Is the castle that woman talked about…" Valerie realized to herself, following up with a big wide grin. "Oh well! YOLO! New sidequest: Storm the castle! Let's DO THIS, Pia!" she, without turning to look back at her, instinctively grabbed Pia's arm as she dragged her to go inside.

Pia had fictive tears streaming down her face. She should've known she wouldn't be able to escape Val's clutches.

***

Valerie looked around the front, deserted entrance. Everything seemed quiet. "Yoohooo!" She called out, trying to alert some kind of presence. "Any ghosties in here? Spirits? Zombies? Sexy Vampires? Gimme something to work hereeeee!" But, there was no reply. "Hmm. Bummer."

***

"What is a tree lighting?" Pia asked curiously. She had been to this festival quite a lot the past few days. Almost a week ago the date with Ruben and a few days ago the flurry with Melody. She hadn't seen anything that sounded like "a tree lighting" at all nor heard of it.

"It's a tree! Made… out of lightning!" Valerie smiled. "Blimey, that sounds mega-hype actually--

"No, no… A tree lighting," Aeliana clarified for Valerie.

***

"Yeayaaaaaz, thankies a bunch!" Valerie beamed. "Anytime you need giant bee control, just contact the Mel n' Val Bee Busters!"

***

"Same here! Can't resist some nice MooMoo Milk!" Valerie added. "Mooooo-arvelous!"

***

"I want to see the type of trainer that you are," Barnham explained, rubbing his fuzzy white beard. "For me, the trainer is defined on how he or she bakes. Understand."

"Nope, not at all," Valerie swiftly replied, but still retained her friendly smile. "Buuuut, if you asked for it, no problem at all, gramps! Valerie and friends' Berry Pies will knock. Your. Socks. Off. BAM! One hit KO, all your base are belong to us!"

***

"Coolio! Is that a new buddy? Man it looks so siiiiiick!" Valerie smiled at the Pokemon. She then directed to Flame. "Oh hey! You guys remember Flame-bro? He's a Quilava now! Triple digits pog, am I right?! Like any new challenge, we're gonna face 'em', and the opposing side will be all like, monkaS?!?! Is that Flame? You deadass rn?! Haaah, being a trainer is so sweet."

STAGE 14 - STOW-ON-SIDE

Spoiler:
After crossing the scorching Route 6 desert, our heroes fave finally reached Stow-on-Side, a town sitting in the west-central Galar region. It's a humble, yet vibrant desert town, where people shop in small markets, and travelers replenish themselves before moving on to Glimwood Tangle. The northernmost point of town was once said to have an ancient mural, but around two years ago it was broken apart, revealing that it was hiding statues of the legendary Pokemon, Zacian and Zamazenta, bringing even more research to the area.

And of course, the town is home to the Stow-on-Side stadium, with two powerful Gym Leaders: Bea, the karate prodigy fighting-type specialist, and Alister, the silent boy of mystery, a Ghost-type specialist. Now that the first three Gym Leaders have been beaten, the league will only grow harder for our heroes. Will our heroes rise above the challenge, and defeat them, individually or together?

GYM LEADERS:

Important Note:
For this stage, as well as any following stages with two gym leaders, you will have the option to take on both gym leaders at once by teaming up with another player. The same rules as a solo battle apply and both gym leaders have the normal amount of Pokemon. You can also take on the gym mission with the other player. You cannot take on both gym leaders at once with a single character.

Gym Mission:
Being a Pokemon Trainer is about more than just becoming strong by yourself - it's about being strong as a team, and the Stow-on-side gym mission aims to test just that! For this challenge, you will have to face off, alongside four Pokemon of your choice, against an opposing team in an extreme tug-of-war battle! Pull the rope far enough into your team's side of the field and you win, but falter for just a second and you'll find yourself on the losing side! What makes this 'extreme', you ask? Pokemon moves are allowed! You'll have to choose between attacking the opposing team and weakening their forces, and having another member help pull the rope and lead you to victory... all while defending attacks from the opposing Pokemon. This challenge will require you to work with your Pokemon more than ever to lead the team to victory.

The opposing team will change depending on the gym trainer you're facing, but your opponents will always consist of two fighting-types and two ghost-types. Some will be focused on pulling the rope, while others may be used for the sole purpose of attacking your Pokemon. Balance defense and offense- and try not to get hit as well!

Battle!
Face off against Bea or Allister (or both) in the Stow-on-side pit! Reminiscent of both Sumo battles and ominous graveyards, this battlefield is unlike any other in Galar: it is much smaller and circular, and it is surrounded by a deep moat. There is a single victory condition: you must push or throw your opponent out of the battlefield in order to win. If any Pokemon moves out of the main battle zone, they are immediately disqualified, whether flying or grounded, and whether conscious or fainted. The format is 1 versus 1 and gym leaders each choose two Pokemon out of their three. Speed and strength are the name of the game in this battle: depending on the gym leader you choose, you will have to outsmart and outpower them, and make sure you push them out before they do the same to you.

[OPEN][GYM] ★1:
One of the two halves of the Stow-on-side gym is run by Bea, the fighting-type specialist! This young martial arts prodigy is known for her ruthless training and is a woman of few words, maintaining a serious exterior for most of the world to see and treating every challenger with the respect of a worthy opponent. However, those who know her well are aware she has a guilty pleasure for eating sweets- don't bring it up to her.

LInP0Ok.png

Bea's battling style is ruthless, calculated and overpowering: she makes use of throwing attacks and overwhelming force to get her opponents' Pokemon off the battlefield and quickly end battles before trainers can react. While her Sirfetch'd is focused and relies on precise critical strikes to finish the job quickly, her grapploct specializes in throwing moves and reversals. Finally, her ace, Machamp, is seen in almost every battle; with his no-guard style, Bea employs raw strength to overwhelm weakened opponents and throw them off the pit once overpowered.

Bea's Pokémon:

machamp.gif

Seismic Toss | Low Sweep | Vital Throw
Bullet Punch | Thunder Punch | Rock Slide
Ability: No Guard

grapploct.gif

Octazooka | Octolock | Ice Punch
Reversal | Circle Throw | Brutal Swing
Ability: Limber

sirfetchd.gif

Iron Defense | Meteor Assault | Leaf Blade
Steel Wing | Assurance | Dual Wingbeat
Held item: Leek
Ability: Scrappy

[OPEN][GYM] ★2:
The other half of the Stow-on-side gym is run by the ghost-style specialist Allister! This shy, mysterious boy became a gym leader at a very young age, but for good reason: with his clever use of ghost-type trickery and evasion, he can overcome even the most powerful of opponents. It is rumored he can both see and talk to ghosts... This has been hard to confirm in interviews as he freezes up whenever a camera is pointed at him, but once he is given some space, Allister is a kind and determined individual.

j6rXhra.png

Allister uses special attacks and status conditions to weaken and wear opponents down from a distance, before closing in to throw them off the battlefield. The evasiveness and resilience of his Pokemon make him a tricky opponent to KO as well, and challengers often find themselves getting deceived by the ghosts- and before they realize it, lose the battle. Allister's Cursola saps her opponents' energy and uses it back on them for maximum damage, and his Runerigus' defense allows it to withstand attacks all while overwhelming opponents. Finally, his ace, Gengar, packs a punch with its special attacks- and pity those who fall prey to its Hypnosis move...

Allister's Pokémon:

gengar.gif

Shadow Ball | Sludge Wave | Venoshock
Hypnosis | Nasty Plot | Dream Eater
Ability: Cursed Body

cursola.gif

Strength Sap | Will-o-wisp | Mirror Coat
Leech Life | Shadow Ball | Hex
Ability: Perish Body

runerigus.gif

Crafty Shield | Shadow Claw | Bulldoze
Disable | Brutal Swing | Trick Room
Ability: Wandering Spirit

Mission 1:
Stow-on-side certainly isn't known for its agriculture, but a young man who recently moved in from Turffield wants to change that. He thinks the mountain air and sun of the city would do wonders for specialty fruit, but unfortunately, the soil around these parts is unforgiving to plant life. However, he's convinced the local diglett and dugtrio population can be convinced to help.
Reward: TR Stone Edge + TM Rototiller + 5 berries of your choice

Mission 2:
Thefts of Pokémon have been reported lately, with multiple accounts of the perpetrator, or perpetrators. But with such a small town, who among the citizens is responsible for these series of crimes? Ace Detective Shirley Holmes is on the case, and might require a trainer's assistance.
Reward: TR Psychic

Mission 3:
Ever since the destruction of the ancient mural that sat west of the town, dozens of researchers from overseas are visiting Stow-on-Side to examine the statues of the legendary Pokémon, Zacian and Zamazenta. From history buffs to those from the science field, all have come to town research for their own ends. However, there are some of them who are… a little bit more eccentric than the others, who happen to be looking for assistants. Will you help them out?
Reward: An evolution stone of your choice

[CATCH CHANCE!] Mission 4:
There's a group of Pokémon that's known to have been causing trouble around these parts. The Ditto gang. They're known to transform as different Pokémon — even as people, causing confusion and disarray in town. It's time for their trickery to end. The epic showdown begins.
Reward: Ditto capture chance

Mission 5:
Now, this scientist is a piece of work. Recovering the notes of their idol; the late Dr. Kaminko from Orre, Dr. Katharina's goal and dream is to revive the golden era of Dr. Kaminko's work. Along with some help, she was able to finally finish… the rebirth of Robo Groudon. Unfortunately, due to some bugs and problems, the Robo Groudon has gone amok, causing panic and terror in town. Someone needs to stop it!
Reward: TR Earthquake

Mission 6:
[OPEN] The fans have gotten really out of hand. With the challengers now advancing their league progress, the amount of fans in their respective fanbase only keeps increasing, and now… they're at war. The fan wars have begun. Uh oh. Things will only keep escalating if someone doesn't keep them all under control. But what will you do? What can you do?
Reward: x5 Great Balls

Mission 7:
Straight from the Weather Institute of Hoenn, a group of scientists wants to introduce a Pokémon, Castform, that they themselves artificially created to help predict weather conditions. They claim that Castform has the power to change the weather and can change its form based on the current weather. With their own testing of Castform completed, they're looking for a trainer to help guide one through the outside world. Will you be that trainer?
Reward: Castform capture chance

Mission 8:
A shady traveling salesman wearing a Nickit-shaped mask has set up shop near the entrance to the mural, and is peddling various wares to the local tourists. As you pass by he insists that he recognizes you as a cousin, and offers you a lucrative discount on his products. One such item is a tea set, which you've heard may be useful for evolving a certain Pokemon. Will you have an eye for true quality, however?
Reward: Cracked pot (phony) OR Chipped pot (real)

[OPEN] Mission 9:
The same aforementioned salesman is also offering a totally-not-rigged mystery box service: a surprise TR box! Test your luck and see what kind of disc you pull out; will it be Hyper Beam or Mud Slap? Only one way to find out!
Reward: Random TR of power 110+ or Power <25 (message a ZM for your luck!)

Mission 10:
Hoodlem Callum is looking to put his mark on the world, and what better place to put that mark than the legendary statues! It's just a little graffiti, right? Who's it going to hurt, really? Maybe you should step in and stop him before he does something that could get him chased out of town… or Galar. There's better ways to showcase your art than ruining a historic monument, right?
Reward: Gunk shot TR

STAGE 15 - GLIMWOOD TANGLE

Spoiler:
As summer draws to a close and ushers in the cool breezes of autumn, our heroes venture forth onto the next step on their journey: the gloomy, mysterious, overgrown forest, known only as the Glimwood Tangle. This enormous woodland stretches between the mountains of Eastern Galar and the isolated town of Ballonlea, and is home to endless kind of plant and Pokemon life, ranging from gigantic trees as old as the mountains themselves, to swarms of mischievous fairy-types ready to play a trick on travelers.

Most notably, the forest is covered in massive, glowing mushrooms, giving the paths an air of mystery and beauty that brings adventurous hikers from all over the world to it. It is also the setting for the local Halloween festival! This little festive fair is a Stow-on-Side and Ballonlea tradition, and locals from both towns come together to celebrate harmony among spirits and the living, with fun activities for children and adults alike.

Yet among the beautiful trees and festive air, darkness lurks as well… travelers have been advised to watch out for red shadow Pokemon attacks on this route, and traveling at night is strongly discouraged. Will our heroes make their way safely through the tangle and reach the next stage of their challenge?

MISSIONS:

[OPEN][CATCH CHANCE] Mission 1:
The Glimwood Tangle is home to some of the rarest species of mushroom, not just in Galar, but in the entire world. Naturally, many mushroom-based species of Pokemon have sprung up in the forest as a result, many of which draw nutrition from the enormous fungi in the area. A little bait might even get one of these critters to come out...
Reward: Balm Mushroom or Large Mushroom

[CATCH CHANCE] Mission 2:
Help! This little tree-like Pokemon is not in its right element. After taking a tumble down from the rocky cliffs of Stow-on-side, it found itself stranded in a giant, unfamiliar forest… And every Pokemon it asks for help thinks it's a phantump! Give this little stranded pseudo-sapling a helping hand.
Reward: Miracle Seed

[CATCH CHANCE] Mission 3:
One little-known fact about the Glimwood Tangle is that it is home to one of the rarer species in Galar: the Grookey line. Often living with Passimians and Orangurus, these little mischievous monkeys love to play tricks on travelers just like the fairy-types, and it seems they've gone into a bit of a 'prank war' by trying to out-trick the fairies - all at the expense of poor traveling trainers. Perhaps you can deal with this little debacle.
Reward: Big Root

Mission 4:
The ghost-types around this part of the forest seem to be particularly agitated. They're howling and swarming erratically around a peculiar dead tree, but it doesn't look like there's anything particularly different about it. Perhaps you should take a closer look?
Reward: Reaper Cloth

Mission 5:
It is said that deep, deep in the dark forest, where the foliage is so thick that light never penetrates through, a certain species of Pokemon lives… Barely researched due to their stealthiness, mobility and aggression towards any trespassers, these groups are so exceedingly rare that some scientific communities have deemed them extinct: the Pokemon Zarude. (Well that's a relief, it means the dark woods should be safe then… right…?)
Reward: Zarude Pokedex Entry + Tutor move Grassy Glide OR Lash Out

[MULTI] Mission 6:
Spooks galore! The Glimwood Halloween Fair is organizing a costume competition, and offering rewards for several categories - and here's the catch: judges aren't just people, but also ghost-types! These Pokemon are experts on spooks, so be sure to satisfy them. The categories are:
Best Trainer Costume (solo)
Best Pokemon Costume (solo)
Best Couples Costumes
Best Trainer-Pokemon Costumes
Reward: Pokémon Egg + Will-o-wisp

Mission 7:
Cases of disappearances have been occurring recently in the forest, from Pokemon, to even children who played around there. What could possibly be the cause of all this, and why? Where are all the victims located? Someone needs to solve this mystery…
Reward: TR Nightmare

Mission 8:
"GET OUT… GO AWAY…" Echoes of a haunting, eerie voice have been reported in the forest as of late. Many people don't dare venture too deep into the woods now, because of the rumored hauntings… of a real ghost. Is this ghost really true? Or is there an explanation for it? Another haunted mystery is afoot, needing to be solved.
Reward: Dusk Stone

Mission 9:
There's rumors that a lone, abandoned hut had been found within the forest, and within that, psychic-type Pokemon have been seen, playing among each other, dancing the night away. But, with this rumor comes poachers and hunters, ready to bag these carefree Pokemon for themselves. They need a hand!
Reward: Twistedspoon

ADDITIONAL MISSIONS:

[OPEN] ★ Mission B1:
There have been recent reports of red shadow Pokemon rampaging through the Glimwood Tangle, with both wild Pokemon and travelers being subject to these random attacks. The ranger organization still has still little information about how these Pokemon are cropping up in both wild and populated areas, but is advising all trainers on the path to remain in well-lit areas and avoid going too deep into the forest, where the red shadow Pokemon are most active. They seem to be even more aggressive and powerful than those in the wild area...
Reward: Wishing piece

[OPEN] ★ Mission B2:
While traveling through the forest, you hear the sound of people and the hum of machinery in the distance. A machine, this deep into the forest? Curious, you approach the area carefully, and find a group of the notorious Black Suits, armed with Dark Balls and strange, chainsaw-like devices. They do not seem to be hunting Pokemon this time, however... as you take a closer look you notice they are harvesting the giant mushrooms you've seen everywhere- with little care for the trees around them or the small Pokemon living inside. Stop these people from endangering the forest!
Reward: Max Mushrooms
