Let's start with: What are we going to name this league of ours?

And we need a list of everyone who applied for positions so we can start thinking about positions for all the league members because I can't remember everyone who applied, nor can I find Polar's list thing from when we were doing the qualifier battles.

Ok, so we have a total of 18 registered league members if you include Sri. 8 are on the Showdown side, 10 on the 3DS side.

So are we going to have 8 Gym Leaders and 4 Elite members per divison, or 4 Gym Leaders and 2 Elites for each division? If we go the latter way, not everyone will get a spot on both divisions. If we go the former way, we'll be one short on the 3DS part and 4 or 5 short on the Showdown side. Whatcha all wanna do?

lol i couldn't battle him yesterday because i had a softball charity game yesterday and is still continuing today and the whole weekend. I will let him win against me i guess since qualifiers are over so Fokko is 3-1.

Glad someone said it hahaha. Guys please, I know this hasn't been the most organized start, but bickering about things that really aren't on topic is nothing but a detriment to progress here. I know it's sort of dead now, so I wont' ramble but please, if you see something that has the potential of igniting those irrelevant side arguments, don't engage. We still have a lot relevant to the league we need to talk out. Such as mainly, the positions available in the league, and - we said qualifiers were over. But there's been a number of complaints, despite what I thought was ample time in advance in the thread, that qualifiers ended too abruptly without warning. I don't wanna go back on this. We really should have, like someone else said below, a very close launch date. If we do allow more battles to count towards the consideration (which also previously stated, isn't purely based on win/loss records) it needs to be on one, very soon, pre-designated date, where anyone who has a mind to complain, agrees they can and will be available to battle. If we even think that's a good idea.

Within a week - I don't wanna give a specific date, but within a week, we'll have who the leaders are, how many of them there are to challenge, and the challenge system worked out.

League Name: Maybe something that relate's with X/Y as to indicate it's an X/Y league? I think something to do with Mega Evolution would be nice, but "Mega League" would be too much.

Rules: I like them. Although, if you look at the part where you talk about leader inactivity, you did misspell the word "and" on the second sentence. I'm sorry, but I must point that out. If you don't like me doing so, I'll have you know that it's for the good of the world.

Positions: I want to be Electric or Psychic type leader, but I'm unable to breed perfect IVs at the moment, so I'm on the bottom-half of the ladder, and everyone here seems to be at the top-half, where they breed perfect IVs.

Also: I feel useless, and I'm the one who started all this. :(

I'm not sure if we want to go with a strictly X/Y related name, since part of the league won't be battling with X/Y cartridges; an X/Y name makes it seem like we're only playing on X/Y, and with ORAS coming out in a few months, we'll want to include them too. No, thank you for pointing that out. That's something I want people to look at in the pseudo OP I made too; spelling errors and the general formatting of the thing.

You could do both types. We decided that we're gonna go dual-typed instead of monotyped in the league.

Which btw, about the dual typed thing: there's gonna be some overlap on the types. The way we have it now, There'll be 20 league members, but there's only 18 types in the game. There'd have to be 40 types for everyone to have a completely unique type combinations.
So yeah.

Oh, right, I forgot about Showdown. Oh heck with it, name it "Super-Ultra-Awesome-Kyurem-Bloodbath League"! ...I don't think I've helped much... "Quartz League"? Actually, that would be an awesome theme! :D

Yay! I already know 2 species that I would use! But I'm still too easy to beat, I think. I haven't quite beat anyone here yet, and multi-battles don't count.

But really, anything playing on six, or perhaps something relative to Alpha and Omega since they'll be coming out soon. Hell once ORAS comes out, we'll supposedly be able to legitimately host gyms out of our games. But name-wise, beta sounds kinda, well beta. Personally don't care for it but there could be something there. Zeta always sounded cool to me. And it has the added benefit, of playing on both X/Y and ORAS, since it's a greek alphabet letter, and begins with "Z" - continuing the X-Y bit. Could even throw something Showdown relative in there, like "Zeta Shodwown" or "Zeta + Showodown". Or, since that may mislead cartridge players to think it's purely a showdown league, maybe not.

Beta could actually work :I "PC Beta League' indicates that's it's still new and undergoing changes at this point, as well as being sorta ORAS relative.

Moving onwards though - we can assume qualifiers are done at this point safely then. We need to begin discussing, (unless there's a group consensus that one or two people should instead appoint leaders / elites, in which case I think we should elect that / those 1 or 2 people) filling the leader and elite positions. We're going with 6 leaders, and 4 elites correct? And both sides of the league's Champion spots, will be left open until someone conquers that half of the league.

This means we have 10 league spaces to fill on Showdown, and 10 league spaces to fill on X/Y.

Right now as best I can count, we have six active and responsive Showdown players to fill those spots; being Antebellum, Zekrom, Euphoric, Falkbalk, Enigma, and Ultraviolence. I left out Srinator, and Bad Pokemon - because (please correct me if I'm wrong) as I understand it they've gone missing in action. Hopefully to return soon though. Assuming we don't have them until we hear from them again though - that leaves 4 spaces still open in the Showdown league - hopefully to be filled by challengers or- you guys may want to go recruit anybody you think would be a good spot. I'm still relatively new here and just don't know as many people or the places to find them.

For X/Y - we have the same 10 spots open, and we have Antebellum, Polar Spectrum, TGM, Blueboi, Ferraligator, Charizard Man, Adam Eternal, CycloneGU, Fokko, and Elnoor to fill those positions, being exactly 10 with Cakesu and Zekrom opting out of the X/Y half. Soooo basically; we don't need to even worry about those qualifiers as anything more than aid in determining who should be leaders vs elites hahah.

Okay guys, soon. VERY SOON NOW. We can start calling types. :P We shouldn't have more than ... someone do some math. What's the maximum we can have of any 1 given type, assuming each leader takes 2 - but we maintain almost maximum even dispersal?

Or actually, hold on. We could do a draft; using the qualifier results as determination for draft pick slots as to who gets which type. ie; highest qualifier ranking gets first type pick - we make a whole round of everybody until all the types are gone- then we go around again until everyone has 2 types.

OR NOT. We could also totally just say everyone pick your types; and as long as we don't have 10 dragon + something else type leaders so everyone can use a Garchomp, it'll be hunky dory.
