Red's a better color imo. I think what this sprite needs to be finished is some work on the shading and maybe some smoothed out line work.

For the lighting, why is the nose not as light as the top where it's much lighter? I imagine it should be getting as much light since it's on the top where the light would hit it.

For the line work, I can see the outline on the upper right side that it a straight 45 degree line which could be curved a little. The nose also looked quite angular. I might try experimenting a little trying to smooth that out. If you give yourself more room around the sprite (you're not even using a full 64x64 canvas) you might have an easier time changing things since you won't feel like you're getting too close to the edge.
 
Hey all I have an idea

Name:Flang
Etymology:Flame + Fling = Flang
Species: I have no idea, I suppose people who like to play with fire eg.Firebreathers etc.
Class: The fire juggler pokemon
Types:Fire/Psychic
pokedex entry: It actually has no power over fire at all it uses flint stones create fire balls then keeps them alive using psychic power.
Ability: Flash fire

Im no good at making sprites from scratch but I tried my best

Yours! the colours make it look brighter and shinyer like a fish should :) does this wimpike have an evoloution?

Thx for the encouragement Country Emo I have used one of the basic sprite ideas from the original post

I decided to make a basic sprite for the idea of a pokemon based on Aloe from the first post (had to look Aloe up first as I had no idea wat it was :3) note the sprite isnt very good but it was the best I could do so hopefully someone can Improve on it

Name: Aloeler
Etymology:Aloe + Crawler
Species: the Aloe Plant
Class: The Root Crawler Pokemon
Type(s): Grass
Pokedex entry: it uses its unusually long roots to crawl along the ground,when it senses danger it plants its roots, closes its eyes and pretends to be a normal plant.
Ability: Overgrow, Steadfast
 
Ice, I like the Wimpike on the right... and for the record, Swampike and Tiamoor are both its evolutions, so they should be grouped together.

Also, you should have the "not accepting new ideas" message higher up in the first post. Above it is a message that clearly says we're accepting all ideas, with or without a sprite. The "not accepting new ideas" message should, at the very least, be above the linkback things.

Species:A Molecule pokemon
Class: The Molecule pokemon
Type/s: Normal
Pokédex Entry: One of the smallest pokemon there are. It doesn't have any enemies becouse nothing can see it.
Ability/ies: Unnerve/Regenerator

I made a not so good remake that is for you and you can put it in the Communitydex once the doors open to ideas again so just keep it or something.

enjoy this dex and the amount of skill some people have. but on waspain.. the head is just a beedrill head recolored am i right? that kinda stands out.

@resultz it doesnt look like a pokemon, if you look at rocks on sprites theyre very blocky and have lines where it points out, yours is just pure colour. also the yellow particles need to look like they stick out, yours look flat :) nice idea though
