I was afraid granny was gonna have her clothes stripped off as I though "please don't" in my head but thankfully that didn't happen. The flashback to her younger self and then to her currently trying to kiss was hilarious.

Megumi was adorable in this episode. Oh and not forgetting apron Isshiki brining in the luls. and plot Good thing Erina didn't make much of an appearance this episode because frankly I find her tsun too much to bear.

You know what I find funny? Erina is portrayed as this huge rival to Soma, but after all those chapters I don't remember her cook at all and all she does is be the decorative Ojou-sama. xD

I don't remember if Souma's speech was more condescending or not but I do remember it having a little more impact in the manga. Either way, I personally feel like the pacing is fine as is. Wouldn't want them to skip on important content but I think they've been doing a good job so far.

i don't really have much more to add on this tbh haha. i enjoy this stuff quite a bit. much fun.

The way Soma is translated in the manga he's a little more cocky. Rather than 'this school is just a stepping stone' it was 'all of you are just stepping stones'. It's a slight difference but I prefer the cocky Soma.

I'm enjoying the adaptation somewhat. I think it's a joke compared to the manga but not in a bad way, just that any seriousness that I noticed in the manga is gone in the anime. It's a nice laugh but when my friend asked if he should watch it I said to either go read the manga or just only watch it if you don't have anything else to watch. I just don't see the 'perfect adaptation' that others do.

Megumi's great but her interactions with Soma are just too boring imo, Erina is probably my favourite character tied with Soma himself. I wasn't on her side until the training camp arc I don't think, around there I started realising my favourite parts were when she was in the spotlight. Even more so when it's Erina and Soma interacting.

Yeah he got a super upgrade. I want to see an actual full cook-off with the new Soma soon, against one of the E10 or Takumi.

If they decide to make a second season then it'd probably be entirely the tournament arc I assume.

Is it? I'd say there's just as much food porn, the time spent on it just lowers as it goes on (thankfully, because the early episodes, as much as I liked them, were just "cook one thing and then episode ends", now things actually happen).

Though we do have to actually distinguish between food porn and porn born of food, 'cause all that stuff about exploding clothes ain't food porn, it's the result of food porn.

The food pron probably seems like there is less because the foodgasm's aren't all complete ecchi anymore, though the majority is.

I haven't seen a foodgasm in the manga for a while though, probably will come out in waves once the main part of the arc kicks in.


Ep 9; cute ending. Something I've noticed is that the ecchi is far more in your face, impossible to miss. We could all use some more dere Erina in our life.

Only problem I'm ever going to have with this anime is that at some point he has to lose to someone, having him be an invincible chef is just too boring and straight forward, 100% hoping that someone comes along who can make him have a Foodgasm.

Nice, this might be the first time I've actually seen them attending a class for something. Like, it's always said that it's a school but they rarely show school related stuff like classes and walking through the hallways w/ students all about. Nice reaction from Erina when she realised Souma has her cornered with no Hishoko to back her up lol.

I'm looking forward to what this arc has to offer, especially how things will go against yugioh hair guy. I thought Miyoko disappeared into the depths of obscurity after the curry thing but looks like she's back for more. mad basketball skills too.

I just want to say that I love how consistently great the manga is to look at, it's just gorgeous.

Also I think one of my favourite parts of the current arc in the anime will be coming up in the next one or two episodes. The anime is starting to get to the good parts.
