Should we bring back Seasons?

In Black and White, the concept of having seasons in the game was very cool. The only problem is that the seasons would change constantly. Some people like this but others found it very annoying. What if they brought it back, but this time make it real time? Which would you prefer, or do you not even want to bring back seasons?

I thought the seasons concept was really cool, and one of my favorite Pokémon is Sawsbuck whose gimmick revolved around the entire concept of seasons. Plus, Pokémon's rarity fluctuating with the seasons was really cool too! Maybe it will be like the day/night system in GSC, where it was absent for the next gen but returned permanently after that. I kind of doubt that will happen, though.

Seasons should be brought back except we should have some sort of mini-games associated with them, or something. I mean, why not have the player go skii racing against other NPCs? I know it kinda takes away from the whole pokemon battling aspect, but it's little additions like these that would make the main games so much more fun. :<

This sounds like something I'd cling to; having mini-games around like this would definitely help bring value to seasons!

If they wish to do so, they might also be able to associate them with battling, which is one of the main aspects. I mean, if we have Sky Battling system, why can't we have Ski Battles? (If we were to see this come alive, I'd personally imagine it to be similar to Turbo Duels in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds.) I'm sure they'd have enough ideas to make these kind of things work.

Yes. Like the day and night cycle, they add realism to the game and should remain in every game. Not only that but they also alter the scenery of certain areas and allow access to different Pokemon depending on the current season.

I'd love to see them bring back seasons, but I feel like they didn't really do much with it the first time around in 5th Gen. If they enhanced it somehow, like adding mini-games like flight suggested or something to that effect, I think it'd be great! I wouldn't personally be too excited about it though if it only consisted of some Pokemon being rarer or more common during different seasons :c

I enjoyed the season mechanic in 5th Gen, and the changes with Deerling and Sawsbuck that came with it. Now they feel so awkward without the seasons in-game, doing nothing but fixed to one form. Even if it's the same case as 5th Gen where the season only affects wild encounters, I'd still accept it.

The seasons were great, they add different kinds of experience to the games! flight says, there should be mini-games of sort to add the excitement.

I'd also like to add that season should have more influence in the battling, I know it rains around the west Unova during Spring/Fall. But it should be more than that; there should be windy (similar to Delta Stream) and intense sunlight too! Furthermore, Fairy, Grass and Bugs should have their defensive stats boost by 50% during springtime, Ice-types receive x2 speed boost during winter etc.

I really want Seasons to come back.... they were so interesting. Day and Night cycle in games give them major boost and provide more interest, furthermore additions like Flight said, having mini games makes more fun in Games. I hope seasons appear in the next games.

Like everyone else in this thread, yes yes yes. At first I wasn't really a fan of the seasons, but after a bit of playing I actually thought it was really cool that they even incorporated changing the landscape so some areas were accessible during certain seasons.

And why not? Maybe it could be similar to the Pokeathalon but having seasonal games!

    No

Time-based restrictions are dumb, pointless and only serve to add realism to your design. (Which is poor design if it's only for the sake of it.) Seasons' novelty wore off so quickly, and they were more of an inconvenience than anything. No point in bringing them back, unless they changed them significantly, which might just make it more of an actual pain in case you need anything rather than just an inconvenience.

I'm already not a fan of day/night and want them gone too, seasons is pushing it.

That'd be great. ^^ Like you could play volleyball and stuff with your Pokemon during the summertime, do skiing events in the wintertime, and...well idk what correlates with Spring and Autumn, but having activities and mini-games that correlate to the seasons would be really cool~

Maybe an Autumn activity would be... raking leaves? Haha! I really don't know

I think it would be neat if it came back, but they would really have to make sure things change in a significant way. Generation V did a decent job with that, what with locking you out of certain areas in different seasons. They could also do something like digging through snow or leaves?
