4th Gen Sinnoh's Gym Leaders

The Gym Leaders of the Sinnoh Region were a weird bunch. We got a French stylist, a wrestler, Minato Namikaze and 2 miners (props to those who know those I'm on about). It's what I like about them - they're all so different, we even have a father and son as Gym Leaders. They all imposed quite the challenge; as I myself found myself struggling against even the first leader, Roark and his Cranidos. A few questions:

Who did you find to be your favourite gym leader? Who was your least favourite? Who did you have most trouble with?

Go on and talk all about it~

I loved the Sinnoh leaders, and it's hard to pick a favorite but if I really had to, it'd be Volkner. He's stylish, good looking, and despite his Diamond/Pearl team being really wonky (Octillery, really?) he was a challenge and really awesome to battle and talk to in-game. I also liked Roark, kinda, because of his father son dynamic with Byron. They didn't interact much but I still liked that.

Sinnoh's Gym Leaders were a fun bunch, and I liked how each one had contrasting personalities. No one was too similar to another, if you know what I mean. If I had to pick a favorite, I think I'd go with Maylene. She's a young trainer, but skilled and mature, always giving it her all. Second best would definitely be Volkner, especially in Platinum. Enjoyed his involvement post-game n__n

Sinnoh Gym Leaders weren't my all-time favorite, but I still liked them nonetheless. Volkner was the one that stood out to me the most; his design is pretty cool-looking, if you ask me. In terms of difficult, it'd probably have to be Fantina; when I had first faced her, she took me down pretty easily. To get her beaten, I had to train all my Pokémon by about five more levels, which wasn't such an easy task.

I'd agree that Volkner had a cool design, i liked his character in the games and the rotating gears in his gym were pretty neat.
Not a massive fan of Maylene (fighting gym i think), she was just really average.. and I don't remember having too much trouble with any leader in particular although i think i may have lost to Crasher Wake's Quagsire at some point in the past.

Some of the Gym Leaders here were pretty easy, like Byron (Infernape = flawless win), while others were downright awful (Fantina's Mismagius = death). But they were good, I liked them as a whole.

My personal favorite was Crasher Wake, because he was big, beefy, and an epic singer with his crazy theme song. Wake was the boss. B)

Like the games themselves, the Sinnoh gym leaders were a quirky and interesting bunch. And I like them for that reason, just as I like the games as a whole for that reason.

My favorite... probably Crasher Wake, just because he's such a vivid personality. I especially like the fact that that's noted in-game by other characters.

There aren't any that I don't like - not even to the point of relegating them to "least favorite."

The toughest... probably Fantina, though I remember Candice being a bit of a challenge my first time through Diamond, since I went in without a Fire type.

I liked how some of the gym leaders didn't have 100% Pokemon of the same type (Candice had a Medicham and Volkner had an Ambipom and Octillery). The toughest ones for me were definitely Maylene for some reason and Fantina.

I also liked how we had a father-son duo, that was pretty cool.

Candice was my personal favorite! Her personality is different from the ice-type specialists, but it still clicks in a way. :) The hardest for me is Fantina, though. I found her easier in Platinum than in Diamond, haha. I don't have a least favorite, because all of them are so memorable. I remember not liking Maylene for some reason, but now I like her just as how much I like the other leaders.

My personal favourites would be Roark, Byron and Volkner as well as maybe Candice because I found their designs to be really cool. The hardest of them all though would probably be Maylene. She gave me hell during the first few of my playthroughs through Diamond.

Candice is my fave of the Sinnoh Gym Leaders, mainly because she's cute and her personality is different from most Ice-type Gym Leaders. Her strategy involving the hail is what makes her quite the challenge, especially with that Froslass of hers in Platinum. Whose ability may cause your moves to miss, it's essentially you having to make sure your moves connect if you want to take down that powerful Froslass of hers.

Oh man, I remember being sad when 4th gen ended because I would miss the gym leaders haha... They just seemed to have so much personality. The rematches in Platinum version helped solidify this for me.

I don't remember having any specific issue against the gym leaders. Although I guess Gardenia's Roserade is a rude customer for only a second gym leader O_o.

I really liked Volkner, and how the PC reignited his zest for battling. I mean, he's the strongest gym leader (probably, if you don't subscribe to the theory that gym leaders change teams to match your skill level in the game) and being as strong as he is, he can get bored! It was a bit like what I felt after beating a game and being Champion and generally badass. So I liked how DPP showed that gym leaders can get bored too.

Gardenia's Roserade was a b**** to kill, even though I made sure to have Staravia and Monferno by then. And Roark's Cranidos! And to think they were beginning gyms -_- :)

Volkner is my favourite Gym Leader! :D

I found Fantina to be really really hard, during my first playthrough.

The Sinnoh Gym Leaders were very unique. I loved discovering their contrasting personalities and learning that they weren't all boring people who don't have their own thing. My favourite would have to be Crasher Wake because he was so ... loud.

I really like these Gym Leaders if only because Pearl was my first game. I used to love Fantina (I don't know, maybe her hairstyle?), but now my favorite is Maylene. For some reason I like her gym puzzles and she has a Lucario too. My least favorite is Gardenia and Roark. Roark just seems bland to me, and Gardenia's puzzles in both of the games was dull. I used to struggle with Fantina a lot, but I wasn't skilled at video games. Now...well, I haven't played the games in a while because I lost Platinum, but I would say the most difficult is still Fantina.

I actually really like the Gym Leaders as a whole in Sinnoh :) I think my favourites would be Crasher Wake cause he's based on a luchador and I love wrestling, as well as Byron cause he's based in one of my fave locations (Canalave) in Sinnoh and I really like his background and the whole Iron Island association.

As a plus, both these guys' gyms in Diamond were a lot of fun to navigate :)

I can't remember who was the hardest but I distinctly remember Candice's snowball puzzle giving me a hard time lol :)

I really liked the Sinnoh Leaders, probably one of the best leagues of all the Regions actually. My favourites particularly being Fantina and Byron!

Omg the Sinnoh Leaders were so fun! n_n

They were really creative with the designs. I also really liked there was a relation between two of the Gym Leaders, being Roark and was it Byron? Yeah, they were father and son. Then there's Fantina, like a french lady who is a contest fashion freak or something and finally you have Maylene! I kinda like her because she's like the Flannery of Sinnoh. She's new and kinda shy. Plus she has an amazing Lucario I can't beat in my Platinum ;;

Crasher Wake is my favorite. I mean come on, he's a friggin wrestler! Volkner was a pain to defeat for some reason >.< I cant really say I dislike any of them, all of them are awesome in my opinion :P
