Strange Eating Habits

I've always found other people's eating habits very interesting. They can be good, bad or odd but I love knowing that aspect of a person. The most common one I see is people not liking their food to touch, or that they eat parts of a meal separately instead of going back and forth between the main part and sides.

Something I go through all the time is eating something I like in phases. I have these food phases where if I find a product I like and it tasted good I will often eat that one thing so much for as long as possible until I hate it. This happens to me with snacks or anything. About a year ago I discovered these Marie Calendar's Pot Pies. They were huge one pound kind and I loved them so much I ate those for every dinner for about 4 months until I couldn't finish one because I got tired of the taste. Pringles were another phase I went through when I ate the same flavor of Tangy Buffalo Wing everyday for 2 months, then got tired of it and moved on to the next product I could find. I don't think I will ever get out of this habit, I find it so strange and I actively seek out the next great tasting thing I will get hooked on like a fad.

Another one is that I hate eating food with my hands. For something like a sandwich or slice of pizza yes I will use my hands. And for chips I have a paper towel on hand to clean my fingers after every one I eat. But anything else that is normally eaten with hands I cannot. I seriously hate getting my hands greasy and dirty. For some reason I'm the type that has to stay clean during a meal and will wipe my mouth several times even when it isn't really dirty. People have always looked at me weird and commented on me eating only with utensils. The biggest one would be when it is chicken wings. I used to get really nervous when around people when chicken wings were the meal because I always knew that someone was going to ask me why or comment on how strange it was that I was eating them with a fork pulling the meat off of it.

So tell me what you guys eating habits are. Are they normal or strange?

    I like this topic!

I'm sure I do have some weird habits, so I asked my bf if I eat weirdly. He responded with "you tear your food apart" when I asked for clarification, he said "you literally tear your food apart" =___= I have no idea wtf that's supposed to mean, but I'm sure it has something to do with me being a messy eater.

I don't know if this counts as a weird habit, but I don't eat my 3 musketeers normally. I eat all the chocolate around it first and then I'll eat the inside.

Yeah things like that with the 3 Musketeers. That counts as this sort of thing.

I always tend to have dessert first. Like today I ate my cinnamon bun before my pizza.

I have tendency to eat both fruit and main course or desert and main course together.

I usually read when I'm eating smth :) Also I like to eat some food separately, saving the most delicious stuff for the last moment

I have a weird tendency of eating the shells on shrimp. I like the extra "crunch" that it gives to the seafood, plus I'm just lazy when it comes to taking it off lol. My friends and family think I'm crazy for doing it but eh, I see nothing wrong with it.

I'd find it weird for someone not to do that. It would be like finding someone who's never taken off the top cookie of an oreo.
I've never thought to eat them like that. But I get your oreo version of it. I would compare it to like eating M&Ms by biting them in half eating the top and pulling the little peanut out.

I have eaten the shells on shrimp before and it's not very good to me. It reminds me a lot of the shell on soft shell crab and I hate those. But the shrimp shell is better. I always think I'll choke on it though, kind of like those little kernel skins on popcorn.

I have a habit of eating my meals in stages, like I'll start with the vegetables and then I'll move on to another ingredient and so on until I've eaten it all, my family always comment on it but it's whatever.
I also get those packets of instant noodles that come with like a powder you put in it before you put the water on them but instead of putting the water on I'll just put the powder and mix it so it coats the dry noodles and then I'll just eat them like a bag of crisps.

Didn't think I had any weird eating habits, until I saw that popcorn was brought up. For as long as I can remember, I've always eaten the unpopped popcorn kernels when I'm done with the rest of it. Dunno why, but I've only known one other person to do that, and he only started it after he saw me doing it, haha.

Wow I do both these things too! Everyone I know though I was crazy too for eating the instant noodles like that.

YES. This makes me so happy because I get the weirdest looks whenever I do this. The inside is the best part, you have to enjoy it on its own <3

Hmm.. well I am pretty sure I'm a messy eater haha. My boyfriend calls me a messy pup :3..

I like to have chocolate every day. I don't know if that's a weird habit.. but I have a couple squares every day.
Oh and I eat my pizza a bit weird.. I like to eat the crust, then the front, then the middle.

And if I ever have fast food.. which is like.. once a year.. I like to dip my french fries in icecream :3

I remembered another one when I had some popcorn the other day. I look for the less buttered popcorns and eat those first and save the more buttery ones for last.

When I eat cereal that has marshmallows like Lucky Charms I eat all the non-marshmallow pieces first then eat all the marshmallows when those are gone.

I sometimes try experimenting when it comes to food. I like mixing barbecue sauce and even salmon into my noodles to give extra flavour, or even adding Parmesan cheese. Tastes really great, actually.

And another one I have to mention, is that I only eat cereal when it's dry because it's much crunchier and if you add liquids (aka milk) to it, the crunchiness is wasted.

    +1 this ha.

I'm particular with my food, I always eat it in a certain order of; Vegetables, vegetables, meat, vegetables, meat meat.
If I'm eating spaghetti I always eat the meat first than the pasta.

In a Roast Lunch I always eat Yorkshire Puddings last

I feel like my days are backwards food-wise. I start the day with a snack and end it with a bowl of cereal.
