Possibly some type of storm or story. Doubts an ending like -torb (as in, Voltorb), -tord, or -tork. Cannot rule out -tors. Might be a name, especially with a vowel ending (-tori, -tora, -toru).

Not Nightor*. Nearly guarantees a vowel after the leading 'N', but what? Tried N-vowel-letter. Recognized nothing with six letters in. Could have sped over it, of course. Needs to cement that vowel.

Has to be an 'I' for the first blank, right? Leaves this: N I _ S T O R _

Draws from the following letters: BDFGIJKMPQVWXZ. Creates 14 * 14 = 196 possible words, given 'I' in the right spot. Tried them all. Remains clueless. Glanced at Cramorant to double-check its Pokedex entry, in case of being a stork. Calls it the "Gulp Pokemon", though.

Alternatively, is it backwards? Might do that for a password. Becomes _ R O T S _ _ N. ...Probably not.

Shrugs. Chooses to lock in the vowel. Lacks a better idea. Might pop up somewhere useful.

'I' as in Indeedee, please.
 
The only thing I can find that's remotely close is still one letter fewer than what's in the word...but regardless I'll guess an M please. Fingers crossed I'm not the last strike ^^;
 
Oops, so, I double checked and I added an extra letter that shouldn't be there. My bad.

Still both were hits this turn and since people will probably guess the word pretty soon since we're only missing a letter, it won't be too much of a blunder.

Not Drakloak, Dragalge, Primeape, Prinplup, Trapinch, Graveler, Ursaring, Articuno, or several others. Hoped to find a direction among the first few letters. Appears to be very stuck on Pokemon, rather than items/moves/abilities. Could always be a name.

What about the ending? Cannot be -er. Views -es, -ed, and -en as likely. Cares less for -ex, -el, -ew, and -em. Not Sharpen, Ninetales...or anything eight letters, really. Does not count Frighten. Sees no way to build off that.

Lacks a great way forward. Selects the letter decent at the start, end, and maybe even a double-letter center.
