Roy is looking hot. Looks like they took some inspiration from both his Awakening DLC art and Melee design. I think it's been confirmed he's a semi-clone, his dash speed and air speed is much faster, his down air is like Ike's, his range is slightly shorter and his Final Smash is like an circular version of Marth's critical hit. People are upset that there are three marth clones lmao, Lucina is a straight up inferior clone to Marth but Roy has some interesting changes so we'll see how good he is.

Ryu has a button input for his Hadouken which is pretty cool. I've never played SF so I don't really know anything about it, everybody seems hyped though.
 
Everyone should feel relieved now that Roy has been luigified. His neutral B animation is also kept the same as in Melee, which begs the question on why they changed Lucas' final smash to have the same function as Ness' rather than leaving it be.
 
I also doubt that these two leaked players have anything to do with the poll. Rmember that after the Update that added the DLC shop someone datamined and found hints to Ryu and Roy. Considering that these two already have a lot of their info added I wonder if perhaps Sakurai will surprise us by telling us they'll be released in July, or maybe even alongside Lucas after the Smash Bros. event is over.
 
I love how people on the internet are all going "The leaker is going to get fired/sued/get a hitman after them" Even though it's not possible because he didn't sign a single contract.
We may have the characters leaked, but the trailers haven't been leaked (I assume there's at least a CG trailer for ryu as he's a newcomer) and who know there could be another character announced that didn't get leaked.

It's amazing how they even implanted Street Fighter's control schemes specifically for Ryu, so fans of that series wouldn't be alienated. I suspect him to be Maximillian Dood's new main.
 
^This redesign is probably meant as an "older" version of him, maybe to justify him not getting killed in 2 hits by 2 30% hit Boltings....
Ryu looks like he'll be the new god tier, that focus thingy must have some ridiculous cooldown to not be abusable.

Watched the trailers today. they both looked. Now for me

A nintendo 3ds + Ssb4 + e shop card = My new favorite fire emblem character. My friend can keep ike. :p

Honestly, I do not like how some people are mad about Roy's inclusion. I know you cannot please everyone, but it is annoying when people keep slandering Roy and Dark Pit like they represent the end of the world.

But if I save enough money for a 3dsand smash bros, I will then definetly get an e card for roy (and mabye Ryu too). Mabye I will also save money to get Roy something............the gift of rosetta stone. :p
 
I finally got him and I've been dicking around for a little while now. I was never a fan of the Street Fighter games, because they're so combo-heavy and required too much muscle-memorization on my part. Ryu's pretty... Similar to how he is in Street Fighter. I'm having a difficult time getting him to use the moves I want him to because sometimes the button sequence I use correlates to one of his original combos, so I end up tornado-kicking the opposite direction...

But I really like him. I like the way he runs, and I like the way he feels in the air. I think I'm gonna stick with him for a while and see if I can get really good with him.

Roy's redesign is based on Binding blade and his awakening DLC. He probally aged in the latter, hence your quote.
 
I don't play enough to justify buying anything... But that Mega-man.EXE is only .75 cents! Might as well get splatoon and Zero Costumes.

Tempted to buy those guys, even though I don't really play this game much.
 
I bought Lucas and the Kirby 64 stage because I had a few bucks left on my eshop balance. I'll get Roy and Ryu in the future.

I am looking forward to the other 64 stages coming. I really want them to bring back the original Saffron City stage ;-;
 
Roy kinda gives me mixed feelings. On one hand I'm glad that he's not nearly as cloney as I thought he might be. I was afraid that they were just gonna copy-paste his Melee moveset in. On the other hand I don't really care for him and it makes me every-so-slightly salty that, from what I've seen and heard, he's a fair bit better than Lucina.
