I feel like that was what killed theme collabs for us, since because our larger size compared to staff means we're more likely to be divided and not easily come up with an idea as a unit.
 
i'm still down for villains and if that's too broad, disney villains.

This. I feel like most of what we used weren't liked enough to get participants in, yet somehow had to be broad enough so people didn't miss out.
 
Okay I know this might be like the stupidest idea ever on here like ever but what if we all just did 1 pokemon. Like we picked one Pokemon that's either really popular or looks really weird and everyone that wants to jut do it. Then the idea gets spread and freakin everyone on the site uses the Pokemon.

...yeah I know...
 
i didn't realise people actually felt shunned by the Square Enix one - there was a lot of hype for it, and Square Enix has published so many games that it seemed easy enough to find something of them you played, i suppose.

but... is this collab dead now then? i'd personally quite like one still, for example the Fire/Ice Pokemon thing that was mentioned earlier. at the very least i think that's one that everyone can find something in, considering this is a Pokemon forum. otherwise i'd still like trainer classes for example. and in the case of something else, we could maybe do favourite films? or disney characters/villains? or... digimon? star wars characters? i said these before, but we should just spout a lot of suggestions so we can make a poll!

The problem is, Disney characters was already a collab staff did a while back, and I don't think there's enough Star Wars characters to make that idea get off the ground. I guess it's because after the Square Enix collab tanked, there has literally been a huge loss of interest for theme collabs in general among the supporter community.

Staff I'm sure will probably stick to their occasional ones, but we're a bigger community than they are and that means it's harder to find something to appeal to us.
 
Since an official Undertale collab was kill, the best-looking theme to me now is Fire and Ice Pokemon. Since I had a Glaceon theme the entirety of December, just forget I'm American and let me be fire type? Please solidify whatever theme y'all are going to go with before February, because in that month I am going to participate in a smaller Fire Emblem collab with pals to celebrate the North American release of the new game.
 
If Fire/Ice Pokemon is picked, I'd probably be convinced to use an Ice Pokemon more than a Fire Pokemon, even if my region is in summer at the moment and would say that I should be a Fire Pokemon.

But in terms of a Pokemon I'd choose, if I absolutely have to be Fire then I'd go for Tepig. I was almost leaning towards something from Fennekin's line, but I imagine someone else would snap them up before me, plus Tepig is my second fave Unova starter.

I had the choice for an Ice-type, I definitely pick Cubchoo, Vanillite line or one of the Water/Ice Pokemon. Regardless of which type, I'd also accept being the Sunny or Snowy Castform, or even Glaceon (not as much of a Flareon fan here).
 
There are a lot of good Fire types, and I've always picked Fire type starters my first playthrough in a Pokemon game since the very beginning. If we are to go with this theme, may I be so bold as to claim my childhood fave, Vulpix, right now? :o
 
If the idea was to do Star Wars characters, I would recommend doing not just characters from the movies. I would recommend doing characters from the original Star Wars EU (a.k.a. Legends) and the current Star Wars EU as well. That way I would not have to change my current avatar.

I don't know anything about CSS, but I'll change my avatar and signature to Vulpix for the time being.
 
I've never been part of a collab before; I'm not cool enough. But I wouldn't mind taking part in this one with Articuno...although any Pokemon theme that isn't Meloetta is going to clash with my username, aha.
 
May I just comment that I am very happy to see this becoming more of a tradition rather than simply being an event. I kinda sorta wanted this to be a quarterly thing when I ran a few of the supporter collabs back in the day but I'm super glad this is a thing in the VIP section now. <3

If Glaceon is not taken, I'd be more than happy to go for it. The person above me took Articuno already which makes me sad haha.
