[PokeCommunity.com] The Black Tower & White Treehollow

This was a competition added to B2/W2, after you've beaten Alder, after winning the pokemon leauge. It comprises ten randomly generated, progressively more complex areas, each with a number of Trainers. Each area contains a gate Trainer and a Boss Trainer. The catch? You're not allowed to use items on your pokemon! Unless you battle a Nurse or Doctor, in which they will heal your pokemon for you.

In the last floor, you'll get to battle Benga, and if you win, you would receive a Shiny Gible from Benga once you beat him on the tenth floor. In White Treehollow it is the same principle, but out of this one, you receive a Shiny Dratini from Benga.

Anyway, did you beat Black Tower/White Treehollow? What was your opinion on this addition to the sequels? Any other thoughts?

I quite honestly never played these sections of the games! I never actually completed B2, I got as far as the Water gym and then for some reason lost all interest haha. What I do remember is trying out some online battling to be met with countless shiny Garchomp and Dragonite, so I guess this is to blame... Anywho, I like the concept of these areas quite a lot but they do seem rather standard "post-game battle tower" haha. Not the most interesting of areas in a Pokémon game!

I actually did go through both. White hollow I did with my white team and black city I did through my white 2 team. Pretty fun and difficult at points

So like, I love BW2, but those screenshots are literally the first time I've ever seen those areas, haha. I have never done BW2 post game. I'm usually just ready to restart immediately when I finish battling the Champion. :P So I guess that answers this thread for me. My boyfriend borrowed my White 2 to playthrough and both times he played, he finished the White Tree Hollow so he's got a shiny Dragonite and a shiny Dratini to show for it.

I loved B2 and white2 and i really liked this addition. So for me i got Black City so i went to Black tower and i actually finished the challenge! But it took me a lot of tries i mean a lot of tries it took a good month! I must have went in over 70 times it was actually a pretty good challenge i expected Benga to be harder but he still was pretty hard! Also i got a shiny dragon which said it was worth it but im just happy to have beaten it! I actually wanna go back and try again but then i think itll probably drive me crazy!

This was a really neat addition, to be honest. Going through these waves of trainers was a cool feature that not many other games have done much like. There was the Trainer Tower in FRLG, but that was nothing like this because trainers were always the same as your highest level and you didn't gain any EXP from them. This has some puzzles, some of which might require you to use Surf or Strength, and it's a very fun way to get EXP. Time-consuming, but I definitely liked it.

I never had the chance to take on this challenge, but for those who are serious battlers it is a great postgame activity that is handy for quick level-ups thanks to some trainers carrying Blissey. Both the White Treehollow and Black Tower have awesome-looking designs as well.

Loved it! It was a challenge and I love challenges. And the reward was very worthwhile. Definitely one of the highlights for post-game content. It's also a great place to rack up EXP.

Oh yes, I remember when I used a Level 59 Mamoswine against a Level 82 Blissey that I had migrated from Platinum (it was shiny) and used the Lucky Egg with it (don't remember if I had the EXP Power or not) and gained over 48k EXP from it. That was good. :P

I like these facilities. They provide a great way to level up Pokémon. :) I love their background music as well. :)

The part that I have to nitpick on is the areas that requires field moves.

^ Yeah, it's not likely that one would want to bring Cut, Strength or Flash into a facility like that. It's not pleasant... Sometimes I would manage to sneak around the trainers that would be in between some big boulders.

I'm with you Unapologetic. It is annoying that this facility of all places had to have HM obstacles, although at least you're not restricted by Pokemon choices so you can just take a strong legendary in and wreck the opposition.
