Sadly, this thread isn't anywhere near as active anymore thanks to the new DCC. <_<

That's why I was surprised at the random activity surge this morning, haha.

I...actually like Zubat. I have two plush toys of it in my collection.

Maybe everyone was just so willing to share in the hatred of Jigglypuff and the love of Wigglytuff.

Or just blame Squirrel. He's bringing in a lot of members who have never posted here before!

Unfortunately, Zubat made my life miserable before I figured out that repels existed.

Hmm, looks like it's time for a new topic: What's your favorite method of evolution? And while we're at it: How do you feel about trade-evolutions?

As much as I hated walking through caves because of Zubat, I actually liked it a lot as a team member. Also what's cooler than having a pokemon called 'BATMAAAAN'?

Yeah I agree with Windy! I think leveling up's the easiest one to achieve and it makes the most sense out of all the other methods. Trading's okay though it's kind of a hassle having to go into the room and trade, let alone organise one with a friend. Wonder Trade's amazing though. :]

Personally I really like Zubat, I think it's a real cutie and I adore seeing it flutter around aimlessly like it has no idea where it is. :D

I just really like Zubat...

As for evolution methods, levelling feels the most natural and it is the best balanced too. Stone evolutions have the problem they don't learn any moves, so you need to wait either until like level 50 for it learning a necessary move or stick without good moves. Or you breed all the moves and you can obtain the evolution at level 1 already.
Trade evolution is just introduced to let you persuade your friends in buying the game too, otherwise these Pokémon are not able to be obtained. I'm not a real fan of the system, because the middle evolutions like Graveler and Kadabra can immediately evolve, which you'll probably do. This makes you never actually use the middle evolutions and that's a shame.

I remember people in primary school trading version exclusive pokemon for a bit of extra cash actually. If you wanted someone to link trade your Kadabra it'd be a dollar and getting version exclusives from other games would be two or three. It was kinda like a mini business within our school. And super clever now that I think about it...

You could also be stuck with the middle evolutions if you don't have access to trading. That makes up for people who instanty evolve their Kadabras and Haunters. ;]

I'm not quite fond of trade-based evolution too, especially if special items are involved. Even finding one on GTS can be hard at times.

Yeah, I found that one of my least favourite things about trading. It's easy enough swapping a pokemon but it's sad knowing that you can't have unlimited Porygon2 due to the limited number of its trading item. :((

Wild Zubats are a pain. However when they get to Crobat, they're not bad at all.

Looks like Zubat's been saved!

@ Windy: Don't remember Brock ever having a Crobat! I didn't watch much of the pokeanime though, only enough to see that one of the best OTPs in the series would of been him and Nurse Joy. Though it's kinda creepy thinking that he's hit on twenty different Nurse Joys. Maybe even a hundred. ):

And next up is Golbat! Let's see how the slightly scarier Zubat fares.

I like Golbat a little less than Zubat, but enough to upvote it.

Brock is absolutely creepy, but you don't really realize that when you're a kid. Then you think it's funny he gets poked by his Croagunk all the time in the Sinnoh episodes, but the first two generations didn't have a character like Croagunk, right?
