I do much prefer trying things on / looking at stuff in shops, rather than online, but online commerce has certainly been a good thing during the pandemic.

But...

I have met many, many, lovely people in shops, venues etc. that I have talked to for years. It's so sad to watch them all disappear one by one </3

Well I guess since I live in a small town it's less noticeable, but most of the stores here were small local stores rather than national chains. Apart from the supermarkets that is.

I think magcargo has a really cool design being a lava slug.

I'm not sure why I picked vulpix, it's not my favorite fire type or anything. I think I was searching images and thought "oh this looks neat for an avatar".

Either way vulpix is still great, so is growlithe

oh yeah growlithe too, my bro had firered and i had leafgreen so we had to trade a vulpix and growlithe to each other. I love the anime art style it does make for great avatars 😀
i like magcargo since i caught one when i first played pokemon ruby and thought it looked cool. i had played pokemon gold before then but slugma is pretty rare to come by it's in like one location or there is a gift egg from a random npc which is easy to miss

thats cool you can always trade it up to the most recent games unllike gen 2 where itd be stuck forever (or 10 years when the batterys had it 😆)
first shiny i saw was a golbat on my pokemon diamond, i didnt even know they were a thing and its bright green so i was dead shocked and unfortunately i had no pokeballs! i kept the game on charge overnight still in battle so i could show my bro the next day but somehow it turned off and he never believed me until we found out about shinies later lol

And to this day, I've never found a single random shiny on cartridge... only on emulators, while doing challenges or hack rom runs :eleanorangry:

I did find two shinies. A red Gyarados in Silver, and another red Gyarados in SoulSilver. I'm very lucky I got twice the same shiny on two different versions 🤔
 
239030 i rarely find random shinies but ive shiny hunted a few times. i think from random encounters, i found a shiny golbat, shiny spearow (leafgreen), shiny wailmer (omegaruby) only 3 after many years of playing pokemon but then randomly a few years ago on my sapphire i found 3 shinies in 3 days! (wurmple, poochyena and taillow)
