(late but whatever lol :p) Megan is absolutely right about the 3DS thing, it just requires following a very well put together set of instructions to set up homebrew on the 3DS. Insanely useful now that the system is mostly dead. :p

Also, on the topic of Steam and what might happen if the store closes... Well, all I can say is that I'd never resort to piracy on a game I've never payed for... (unless that game is abandonware from like 20 years ago and not available to buy anywhere lol)

I googled it...Napster came out on June 1st, 1999. I remember back then that you could freely download anything. On December 6th, 1999, the music industry filed a lawsuit that Napster lost, making it illegal to freely download music from the service.

I prefer not to emulate or pirate, but some companies do a horrible job at providing service to older titles.

Nintendo kept the gamecube library closed for 20 years so that they can now drip feed remasters. I'm glad Dolphin Emulation exists.

I think there was also KazaA or whatever it was called. That site must have closed down a long time ago, though. I've heart Napster changed its business model to streaming music at some point.

Not that I ever downloaded something from those torrenting sited. I actually only got access to the internet when I was 18. So, most of my experiences back then came from CDs that had VBA, zsnes and a bunch of ROMs on them. ^^"
