It's still on the front page. Just not a sticky.

Many threads survive unstuck. If you like DA so much, make sure you're keeping it alive. If the thread dies, then that means people weren't interested in it any longer. And then it can always be re-made. :)
I outlined this before but I have incredibly poor eyesight. My glasses were left in the car and I literally cannot see anything more than two feet in front of me, if that.

shenanigans has covered a lot of my original opinion but if Sonata's doing what I think he's doing then I am all the more game (one can only hope).

He's just getting executive comments from me.

I personally don't imagine any threads retaining any kind of status of being stuck other than the rules — I'd opt for the splash instead. But, meh.
Why not just cut out the middle man, then?

And if the splash is so useful, shouldn't the rules be fine if all the other stickies are?

I make suggestions. It's not my prerogative to make them act on it.
Surely whether you hire someone has a portion of the decision bent on something like that, no? Just saying. I'm questioning you right now ;)

The rules, by the way, are the staple of "important threads". Again, it depends on who's placing weight on what. I obviously only consider the rules to be important enough to show on every page.
It's strange how certain relics from the past you wish to keep and others that aren't even as old are so quick to be dumped.

Don't get me wrong by my replying being any indication that I care either way, or as a means to criticize anything, but I do have a question and a statement.

Dear Anonymous has been a staple to this sub-community since I created it in 2011. Just like the DCC has been a staple of the community as a whole since it was around before the dinosaurs went extinct and that still remains stickied. Combined with the incarnations Andrew made (2 of them), it has well over 4,000 posts. Apart from the DCCs and threads from the days where we didn't know what we were doing (and when probably the only person around was Jake) kept threads around for years before closing them for getting too big, there aren't any threads that active.

What I'm confused about is, if you're looking to do some spring cleaning and clear up stickies - a clean section is a happy section after all, and from what I recall, this is when that "Spring Cleaning!" thread usually gets posted in the Lounge - why remove something that has been one of the staple threads of the forum, if you opt to keep a thread about homework help there instead?

I'm not calling the shots on that. Would you like me to?

I questioned that too, but one issue at a time.

If you want to approach this topic further, I encourage you to message me directly about it, or head to Feedback & Support.
Not sure if you are directing that to me as a separate thought, or just saying that in general, but that was all I had to say / care about the subject.

Bacon and pancakes sound good for breakfast today. I'll take a donut though :D

Last time I actually had pancakes was back on Wednesday with the fam. I'm just on a cereal diet. Hooray Honey Bunches of Oats :D

I actually have a craving for donuts now. And the nearest one is soooo good.

I'm just kind of digsusted right now, and no, I don't have any place telling you people what to do or where to go. I'm not so dumb as to think I have any power here.

Can we please not try to brush peoples' concerns under the rug with large pictures of donuts? It's cute and all but I find it kinda disrespectful to those who have an actual issue to raise. ): Like I get that not everyone is comfortable with this kind of conversation but just forcing it onwards like that isn't really the way to go.

Jake already warned to take these concerns in Feedback & Support. I'm sorry that my attempt to put this thread back to where it should be... didn't work out.

Carry on then.

He did say to make a CQ&F thread or PM him to talk about it more.

It was only after the distraction was posted that he posted that though. Anyway, it's a minor thing - just a bit of a peeve of mine. I'll drop it now since CQ&F is the better place for this, but I'm not gonna take it that far. It'd be even more of an absolute headache for you guys to deal with.

I found this post rather clever. You post a picture of donuts. And then you use the phrase "work out"

So I immediately thought "That's probably what you should do after eating a donut in the first place."

Probably not something you intended, though.

I feel like Alex's "This is rich." pun was mostly lost on people, unless it wasn't a pun at all.
