The Leave/Return Thread

I've never been a regular poster here, as is evident by my post count, but I have been a regular lurker for a number of years.

I'm now back after about a 6 and a half month hiatus and hopefully I'll actually become a regular poster this time around.

Reason for this most recent hiatus is a mixture of positive things. First of all, I've been playing poker online for a few years and have recently hit the stage where I'm making a nice constant profit from it. (It's always nice to have an extra income on the side purely from a hobby.)
The second reason is that I also got a promotion at work 4 months ago :D Once again, nice to have that added income.
Finally, saving the best news till last, I'm now a father and my son was born last week so there's been a lot of restless nights so far and many more to come :)

As I mentioned above, I hope that I'll actually stick around this time around and finally become an active member after years of lurking!

Studies always come first, so at least you're putting PC on the backburner for the time being because good grades are what you want to achieve. Anyways, we'll be here to say hello again when you get those studies done with!

Having a prof that's late with materials is nice at the start but for me it always caused a worse crunch on the other end.
Of course it never helped that I procrastinate...

Well, I think that qualifies as a long hiatus. :D I even managed to completely forget that this forum was English. But! I'm back now! ^^ ...Not like anyone's gonna recognize me, since I've never actually been all that active in the first place. I'm usually just quietly reading all your secrets. >_>
The main reason for my return is my recent acquisition of a 3DS and Pokemon Y and Alpha Sapphire. So, I'm kinda hyped and decided to give competitive battling a shot. So, where to go first thing? The old Pokemon forum with the still super awesome slogan that I signed up on years ago, obviously. And it feels kinda nice to return, seeing that yeah, things have changed, but not enough that I wouldn't find my way around anymore.
I guess this time I'll stay around for a bit longer, so see y'all around, I guess. :)

Good to hear things have improved on your end, and I'll be looking forward to seeing you around Pokemon Clubs again! Have fun with settling in after all these changes that recently happened, but we're still the same PC you know and love so it won't be too hard.

Thanks! Though I doubt that it was actually the Trade Corner, because I wasn't there yet. ;) Not having wi-fi for trading may have to do with it...

I've been gone for 8 months and I don't think anyone still remembers me, but I have returned as of today. My schedule has been overwhelmed by medical school and other times have been taken by work.

During my long break, I somehow remembered a very old account of mine from 2006. Unfortunately, the password is impossible to remember and the email attached to it has been long deleted by Yahoo. I've actually visited this community several times even after forgetting that account since there's a certain charm to this forum that keeps pulling me back. It can be that witty slogan, the huge selection of beautiful themes, or even the insightful discussions that you can find here. However, I've always refrained from posting anywhere since despite being in a community centred around a particular franchise, it's been a long time since my last gameplay. I felt like it's not necessary for me to take part in discussions—even under areas outside Pokemon—considering the last game I played was Platinum. I don't know, but it probably has something to do about me being an oddball.

Now I'm looking forward to getting one of the new games—Alpha Sapphire to be exact. Pokemon Sapphire on the GBA was my first game!
