[Event] The PokeCommunity Game-Along V: The Gaming Strikes Back

March - Hide and Seek

Sometimes we all just want to disappear into the shadows and not deal with the problems that are directly in front of us. Or we want to sneak up on certain problems and ruthlessly assassinate them. We typically don't do either of those things because ignoring problems doesn't make them go away and murdering people is both immoral and likely to just make more problems than it solves. This logic doesn't really apply when it comes to games though! In fact, there's a whole genre of games that are all about skulking around at night to slip by your enemies or stab them when they least expect.

This month the theme is stealth games. The game you select must have a prominent mechanic or other gameplay element based entirely around sneaking around and not getting caught.

lmao I definitely finished a game that fit the bill like 20 minutes before this was posted hahaha. Oh well!

I'm going to try Assassin's Creed: Liberation on Vita and if that feels too dated, Steam says people tag Tomb Raider (2013) with stealth, so I guess that'll be my backup?

[PokeCommunity.com] The PokeCommunity Game-Along V: The Gaming Strikes Back

Oh gods, this is going to be a tough one... Stealth games are something I've basically never played or been interested in before, so I don't own any or have many options for this...
I'm going to try my best to be able to play Sly Cooper and the Thievius Racoonus for this month, but I'm not even sure I'll be able to play it. My only better options are just to play something with a single stealth-based quest or mission out of the entire game, and I don't think that's very respectful of the theme. If I can't get it done, I might just have to flunk this one.

Update: It seems like I've gotten it to run perfectly fine. Unless I run into a big string of bad luck or something, it looks like I'll have something to play this month.

I have a hard time picking up a game for this theme. I don't have a single stealth game on my to-play list right now. What a bummer. I tried to Google some new stealth games, but all I got was AC, Hitman and Metal Gear Solid, which I'm not really in a mood to play. But I also noticed Untitled Goose Game being on few lists. So if that's okay, I'll play that.

I'm playing enough other games that I don't want to play something long, so I'm just going to replay Heat Signature, one of my favorite stealth games.

It's a bit of a stretch, but I'll pay it.

Just finished Sly 1! I feel like it was the perfect choice for this theme for me. It felt like a great stealth game for someone who doesn't really play stealth games. I don't think I would've played this game for a while if it weren't for the Game-Along to push me to play it, so thank you!

This is the best I can do in terms of proof I beat it:

You honestly don't need proof. It's not like there's a prize, so faking it really only hurts the one doing it.

I've beaten a run of Heat Signature. I haven't 100%ed it and liberated every station, but I've done enough to end the game and watch the credits roll whenever I'm ready.

Does Dishonored count as a stealth game? Because if it does, I'll do that lol. (not really a stealth game player tbh)

Belatedly, I went and beat No More Heroes (1) last month, which was a <10 hr game. Was an interesting game, certainly - didn't take itself seriously and some neat music and off-the-wall sequences.

Not sure I have the time between what I wanted to play to specifically do a stealth game though in this month (been playing Splatoon 3 DLC which isn't really stealthy).

I finished Untitled Goose Game yesterday. I think it can be considered a stealth game. Being stealthy about your actions is a big part of the gameplay loop. And the final mission is about
Spoiler: The final mission spoilers

I finished my 'sneaky' playthrough of Dishonored the other day. I've beaten the game before twice already, and after my second playthrough was a 'kill them all' run, I really missed being a total psycho in my most recent run. I started it with intent to not ever be spotted, do all the non-lethal target eliminations, be a true stealth master... But I found that to be boring as all hell, so I instead decided to go through the game with as few kills as possible, while getting seen as little as possible, while killing my targets in the most absurd ways possible! XD It was still pretty slow, but I managed to have somewhat of a good time with it regardless.

Hoo boy, just finished AC3: Liberation. It was one of the glitchiest games I've ever played. Definitely shouldn't have waited over a decade to play it because it did not age well in any way!
