No guard + shadow sneak. Forget the speed being at base 20, this is great starting out in X/Y. Although no guard with low speed can be a hindrance at times.

So is its attack. Not to mention it has access to fury cutter to deal with those pesky dark types. Imagine that. A fury cutter that cannot miss. Sure with low speed you're guaranteed to get hit, but that high defense comes into play.
