Hahah, no no - I had five flying types and one fighting because what maroon brings a bunch of fighting types to a battle against poison and psychics? I wasn't planning on birdspam, just trying to make up for a heavy type disadvantage.

After a heated battle (pun intended, fire type leader), I was able to slay skyberries' dragons and plant wonderful trees in his ground types. Was a close one, but of course sylveon pulled out the win.

Scraggy 3-0'd me and has gone on to the semifinals. He has the battle vid. It was a real nail-biter of a match and despite my efforts, I couldn't recover from that horrible first turn. Totally thought he was gonna fake out with his Ape.

Not sure if you forgot to post the result, but I'll put it here. Watch the video before viewing.

I fell by a 1-0 result. I misguessed the starter and quickly subbed Tyranitar in before the poisonous spikes hit. It managed to deal with Steelix and Metagross all by itself. It eventually got dropped, and there was some back-and-forth and other shenanigans on both parts. I managed to burn a Water type, which was a plus, and caused a switcheroo from that. I foolishly put Slurpuff in front of something it's weak to, and paid for that. A Draining Kiss KO attempt turned into sucking Liquid Ooze out of Tentacruel; a well-timed switch, and if I stayed with Moonblast, more damage would have been done with no adverse effect. In the end, I saved Azumarill for cleanup, but forgot that Scizor didn't get KOed, and was still back there. I abandoned Aqua Jet, which took out the last two before it, and now thinking I should have at least tried it because I knew Superpower wasn't going to get a chance to hit; if it did, though, that was a 2-0 win for me.

So the battle came down to a single move. That's the best kind of battle. Hope I can give Gym battles like that in the future; I seem to be hitting my stride with my team arrangement. Good luck to PicPax in the finals!
