Hey guys! Gunner brought me here to respond to a possible FC&G mafia event that she's been planning. I honestly have no problem with that. I'm not very into the mafia things, but I don't mind holding an event here in FC&G where "fandom mafias" are competing against each other. I'll have to monitor one of the games and see how it all works, because I actually do welcome any event for FC&G, whether sectionwide or within groups.

The way I'm reading this...forgive me if I did not understand this correctly, I need more caffeine this morning haha. Would this be a separate thread where people representing a fandom can join? As long as it's a popular fandom like Homestuck or Doctor Who or MLP? Are you guys going to vote on the fandoms to represent the mafia teams?

It's worth a try to get the section regulars involved though! Love to see this happening. :)

The plan is to have a separate thread (kinda like a normal game in FG and VIP) and I would be the GM for it. I was considering there would be a person representing an existing club on FCG (there would be 21 or so members since there are 21 or so clubs, excluding this one) and they would be "roleplaying" their fandom during the game. And after a team wins, we would have an elimination phase to get people killed until one fandom lives, and they win?

I was thinking the awards could be an emblem for the player, and the club owner, plus have their club stickied on their thread? It's still a work in progress, and I would notify you if I have it set up :3

Also, welcome everyone! I will be adding you guys to the list shortly.

yeah, that's the plan, and I totally meant the forums haha, not the thread. That would be silly...

Also Day Three is up on Season 3, if you guys haven't noticed it yet.
 
Don't worry Weiss. I'm currently making some plans for the FCG Mafia event. I just need to think this thoroughly, and write the post.
 
If the Mafia subforum gets approved, then Faeries & Lycans will also likely show up shortly thereafter.
 
mmm tbh I'm kinda worried that people are going to start burning out with all these mafia games. I'm feeling that way at the moment with THG and Supporter mafia, and not sure if others are as well. idk I'm just unsure if it's sustainable if we have too many mafia games running concurrently at this point in time :s
 
I'm pretty sure, since the start of the RvB war in the Treehouse, mafia related activities started to die out, plus it's May, and a lot of us are gearing for exams as well... I did feel the slight inactivity, and it kinda pains me to see it.

In what ways, and how much, is the mafia game about roleplaying? I thought it was more like a forum game.

well, people are trying to commit to their role, the added mystery involved, plus if you look at all of the recent Mafia games, they actually have a pretty good storyline going... Also, there are others who like to do some noir writing haha x3

My roleplaying experience is very minimal but tbh I don't see it as similar to roleplaying. Some people get into their roles and the story of the particular game but it's mostly just a forum game imo. Some games (particular games I've seen here) have storylines going on to make it more interesting/add different game mechanics though. Not sure if that answers your question though.

Imagine RPC and FG had a baby together. It would probably be Mafia. Dedication of the RPC, and the light hearted fun of FG.
 
i agree on the diminished activity though :c i mean i understand people might be too busy to participate very actively, but for Day One in THG it seemed in the end most people just kinda jumped on the bandwagon rather than really participating in the discussion, too.

but yeah c: i do like to kinda get in a role when playing Mafia - but that's also why i probably couldn't be in more than one Mafia game at once. being in several Roleplays at the same time is another thing, since for every one the setting is completely different, making it easier to switch characters. but for mafia i probably couldn't pull it off so easily.
are there a lot of people currently in both the THG Mafia and the Supporters Mafia?

TBH the only roleplayer would be the GM, but I've seen people who type their posts in a narrative form. Like this.

I think there are about 10 (maybe a bit more) currently in both?

@eros, tbh I think part of the reason why THG mafia isn't moving as quickly is just that everyone is lost/stuck/not sure where to start. I think it's a really cool concept and it's great to bring new things into the mafia scene or else things will get tired and people will lose interest, just that atm there aren't really that many places to get started with discussions.
