Depends.
If it's just about teaching you what keys you need to press to play the game, skip it. You can review the keybinding at any time in the menu in most if not all games.
If there's actual plot part of the tutorial. Read/play it.

Cats or Dogs?
 
Extremely fast paced action game. What am I doing on a Pokémon forum for Arceus' sake XD
In general I don't care about the story of videogames, except when I know it's the main feature of a game (like Witcher).

Visit a museum of science, or a museum of art?
