'tis the season to buy stuff for people...

What would you like to buy for people in your life this year?

Whatever they'd like me to buy for them! I have a very small family, and literally all of my friends IRL are scattered across the country, so I've actually not got many people to buy for this year. Usually, I just ask people what they want and get it, and pick up a couple of small surprises on my own initiative, so people get things they want and if I mess up with the smaller gifts, it's not a complete disaster.

I've already done most of my shopping - my father has a rather expensive book he specifically asked for back in August, my little brother has some DVDs, my grandparents won't let me buy them anything over £10 as long as I'm unemployed so I'm going to get them a few luxury items (bathroom stuff and a nice tin of biscuits to share. xD) and my mother...is being a nuisance again. She's so hard to buy for! I'll probably buy something for her in December, after her birthday.

What would you like for a present?

Right now, I have no clue. Mother has bought me Dragon Age: Inquisition - waiting for that for over a month is going to kill me - but I've bought a lot of the games I've wanted this year, so the list of what remains is sparse. There are some Marvel graphics novels I'd like to pad out my collection a little (Superior Spiderman, a couple of standalones I don't have yet, and War of Kings) and some anime DVD boxsets (Steins;Gate and Psycho-Pass) that I'd like as well. I also need some more hair bands; I'm constantly breaking them. A subscription to one or both of the comics I get monthly would be lovely, so that's a possibility. Christmas shortbread is a must; I always get one or two tins every year. I need to make another Amazon wishlist. xD

Are you doing anything special for the holiday period?

Nope, not that I'm aware of. My grandparents will be coming down around the 17th I think, and of course there will be the customary chaos of decorating the house with the same tired old Christmas CD on whilst we do it. I'll probably break out the Twisted Sister album. Not much goes on at Christmas to be honest~

Well first of all, since I live in the US, the next holiday I will be thinking about is Thanksgiving. After that holiday is when I start thinking about Christmas. Course that does not mean I will not answer the questions.

    1. When it comes to Christmas presents to buy for family members, I buy the following:
    video games for my brothers
    books for my parents
    playing cards for my brother-in-law
    music for my sister

    2. When it comes to things I would like for a present, one thing I would like is a 2015 calendar.

    3. As for doing thinks for the holiday period, when it comes to Christmas, I will wait until December. As for Thanksgiving, not until later this month.

I also liked to buy things for the grills to express my undying love.
Right on! I'm sick of us taking advantage of grills all year without expressing our love for them. #meateaters4lyfe #respectthegrill

Anyway, I don't really mind much about what people buy me. I keep expectations low, and if someone manages to give me a present that is exactly what I want then my respect for said person goes right up. (and then I have to make it up to them... usually I only exchange presents with a small number of people.)

As for doing anything, probably a family meal or two and that's all, really.

I probably will buy some sort of Barbie product for my sister, a woodworking kit for my dad, a new pair of PJs for my mom, and miscellaneous knick knacks for my friends. (No spoilers, like my family is going to look at PC. {XD})

What would you like for a present?

Really, I don't expect gifts, but it would be cool to get Alpha Sapphire.

Are you doing anything special for the holiday period?

Just hang out with the family, look at lights, and enjoy the cheery atmosphere.

What would you like to buy for people in your life this year? I have something in mind for my cat. She's always rubbing against everything when she's in the kitchen or Living Room. So, they have this arch brush thing at Petsmart that would be PERFECT for her. I have a few things in mind for my mom, but my dad is soooo difficult to get presents for every year. ><

What I'm looking forward to the most is an Equil Smart pen. It's a special pen for the iPad, but it's not really a stylus. It works like any other pen and writes on regular paper... BUT it will transfer what you write to your iPad.

Well, to start off my holiday season, I always watch Macy's Thanksgiving Parade on Thanksgiving. This tradition was started by my grandmother when we used to live in Maine. While cooking Thanksgiving dinner, she would have it on TV for me to watch as she did... ever since then, it's been my tradition. It starts off the season for me.

As for what I'm doing? Probably not much. I mean, I'll spend time with my parents and our pets. Most of my family lives back in Maine, and we can't go back because it's too much money to go to and from to see them. I'm also looking forward to my Polar Express train that goes around our tree every year. The only trouble is getting the thing on the damn track. However, once you do... it runs perfectly fine. It's a lionel version, and it's also authentic as well. :3

Thankfully I'm not close to many individuals so I'll probably just buy them what they ask for. I want to get my bf something special though.

Me? Well, idk, I am usually pretty fine.

What would you like to buy for people in your life this year?
    Nothing

What would you like for a present?
A lot of money to buy myself all the consoles and games I want.

Are you doing anything special for the holiday period?
    Nope

This is probably the only response I can give to Christmas, as we don't celebrate it.

I can't lie, I did have thoughts of getting my brother a 2DS or 3DS along with Pokémon X or Y, but I don't really know how much he would like it. He hasn't been completely out of gaming (I know he's played sports games before), so i've considered it.

As for myself, there's nothing I really feel is important for me to get, but i'm sure i'll think of something before the very time comes. And i'll probably go to my grandparents' house to visit relatives the day after Christmas like we have just about every year.

I'd like to get my dad a book of some description, or some work out gear. He's been getting more and more into personal fitness as the years go by, I think he'd appreciate it. For my mum, I'd like to get her a book, too, since she loves reading. That or again, work out gear.

For my little sister, I'm not too sure. She changes her mind on what she does and does not like like the weather, so I'll probably just ask her what she wants. Same goes for my older sister and her boyfriend. And I'm going to get my nephew something cool related to the movie Brave, 'cause it's his favourite.

What would you like for a present?
Just money, or a couple of games for my Xbox. Though I'm a bit past the age where gifts are received for Christmas, last year I just got cash. Would like to get another tattoo, if I get money from my relatives this year.

Are you doing anything special for the holiday period?
Two weeks off work, and just relaxing. Perfect Christmas holiday.

I have no idea what to give my family any year., but usually I never afford to buy any presents for anyone. I guess I could at least make something, but even that costs some money to get materials. I would probably get my older brother some The Walking Dead stuff cause he's been getting really into that show lately. For my younger brother ,I'm not sure, but i know he like Doctor Who and Supernatural alot so merch from either of those two shows would make him happy. Or something for his car cause he loves it a lot. I feel bad for not being able to do anything fot them every year my family mean a lot to me......

As for myself, I really want an electric razor right now. I had to shave for my Halloween costume and let me just say, I hated it. I had so much facial hair, it took forever and it was painful. And having an electric razor would be much more convenient for me cause I can trim my beard easier and it will will look more even. Beside that, the usual things I guess. Video games, Pokemon merch, and CDs. I also would love Guardians of the Galaxy on DVD if I can't afford it on release date like I wanted to. And then some Parks and Rec and Friends merch/DVDs (Mouse Rat t-shirt, Central Perk mug, and some Central Perk coffee yes please) and a bunch of other DVDS from show I like (Adventure Time for example).

I love buying people Christmas presents. There's nothing better than getting someone a great, thoughtful present. Maybe I take it to seriously, but I think getting the right present for the right person is just the best feeling in the world.

Weirdly enough, I don't mind what people get me. I actually don't mind not getting anything at all sometimes. It sounds dumb but I much rather get other people presents than receive my own. But this year I really do need a new wallet so that would be good. And I wouldn't say no to some RT Merch.

My mom saw this pink toolbox at Home Depot and she told me that's what she wanted for Christmas so toolbox it is. I'm probably going to get my brother something Doctor Who or Supernatural related since he likes those shows. I'm not sure what I want to get my Mom's BF yet.

What would you like for a present?
I'm hoping for Omega Ruby if I don't have it by then. I'd also love to get Avatar books 1-3 on DVD.

Are you doing anything special for the holiday period?
I'll get time off school which is great but as far as I know we're not going to go out of town or anything.

Idk yet. I don't really think about gifts for people until the last week or two weeks before Christmas. It always makes me so happy to see my friends/family really love their gifts so even though I wait till the end I do put a lot of thought into it.

As for myself there's really nothing I desperately want. When people ask me I pretty much tell them something practical like a gift card for Starbucks/Dunks so I can get coffee before work/school. People who know me well usually get me tea/incense/candle stuff looool.

Throughout the month I'll probably do some holiday stuff with my friends. There's a light festival "thing" around here so I might end up going to that. It's just pretty to see/you can drink cocoa. I'd like to go to the nutcracker ballet again!! It just depends on money rn. I'm sure I'll do lots more it will just happen sporadically.

This year I'm getting my brothers video games, probably will get something for my best friend (haven't decided what) and for my mom, help her pay her property tax. Another friend and I still have each others presents from last year that we haven't been able to give each other, but that better be able to be remedied this year. This is the second time I'll have been able to afford to buy people stuff, which it's about the only good thing about the holidays. Being in a position where I can really give feels good!

As for desired gifts, I don't usually get many, and mostly just ask dad for some money to put in my savings for whatever it is I'm saving for (right now it's my move), then one or two friends might make/buy me a little something.

I really don't like any major holiday, especially the holiday season or any holidays emphasizing togetherness. Everyone is either too far away or spending time with people more important to them so I am always alone and spend the holidays hibernating and playing video games instead, avoiding social media and whatnot as best I can without completely falling off the map. I hope that next year (which will be after I move states) I will finally have a reason to care about holidays and not just treat them like ordinary (if midly depressing) uneventful days. I am an introvert and love my solitude, but not when I have to watch everyone else be with loved ones.

I'm a terrible gift buyer. I usually call my family and ask them what they want. My dad is the worst to buy for. For the last few years I've alternated between silly t-shirts and alcohol. I'll probably give them all a phone call in the next couple weeks to line up gift choices.

My husband and I are currently pouring as much of our money into our house and home loan at the moment so instead of getting each other gifts our money is likely going towards paint to touch up some window frames (yay). We're going to use our credit card points to get a $500 Myer voucher and do some clothes shopping during the boxing day and January sales. I really want new clothes. I've been spending the last couple months getting rid of older clothes.

Christmas is spent between our two families. My dad works shifts so with my family we often don't actually celebrate on the day. With both families it's a Christmas lunch. My husband's mum is English so there's a bit more of the traditional northern hemisphere Christmas food (turkey, egg nog, etc) but my family is more for the ham, chicken and salad (or BBQ).

What would you like to buy for people in your life this year?
Due to the answer in part 3, I won't be spending the holidays with many people. It's almost kind of upsetting -- almost. I love shopping for my uncle. He has the same fascination with death and mythology as I do. I usually just get him more skeleton or dragon knick-knacks or knives, lol.

Most of my friends will be easy. Unless there's something they absolutely cannot live without, I usually just pick up video games for the ones that play, and fluffy socks, slippers, and cozy pajamas for the rest.
Boyfriend is so hard to shop for, though. I want to get him something nice, but I don't think I'll be able to afford the GTX 980 he has his eye on. Maybe I'll just get him a newer game and a comfy swivel chair 'cause he's always complaining about the one he has now. :v

What would you like for a present?
    ....I have no idea.
I already got the only things I really wanted. I've got the money set aside for Omega Ruby (no pre-order, just in case I decide I want Sapphire instead!) and my ex sent me The Evil Within last week on Steam. Those were my biggest wishlist items that don't cost an arm and a leg. =p

There's some little things, I guess. Like a big, fluffy robe because holy crap I'm freezing in The South™ and it's only November. I'd like a new keyboard; nothing wrong with mine, but now that I have someone sleeping here while I'm playing at night, a backlight would be pretty fab. Some sneakers that don't talk would be cool. I'd be pretty stoked for a Sonata Arctica hoodie. Baking and sewing supplies are always welcome.

Are you doing anything special for the holiday period?
Nope, probably not. Normally my parents and I take the trip to our hometown together to spend the whole month with family, but this year I (finally) get to stay home because school makes for a great excuse.
My entire family is (irrationally) angry with me about it -- they've already told me that I'm not getting anything from any of them because I won't be there to "celebrate" it. What did they expect to have happen by telling me that? "Sorry Teachers, can't make my finals, I have to go out of state all month long or else I won't get a present." :P

I'll spend the day with Boyfriend, and possibly his mom and sister, but we won't be doing anything remarkable.

Omg, I love buying people presents. I don't know why. It's just satisfying to see their reactions I guess!

I actually just bought my mom tickets to see a broadway play in NYC last night! I haven't bought anything else for anyone yet though. I usually really start my holiday shopping after Thanksgiving. I just wanted to buy these tickets now before the sell out for this specific date.

But yeah. I don't really know what I want yet either. OmegaRuby would be nice since I am getting AlphaSapphire on release day!

I don't have enough money to buy people stuff, so I usually just give them a hug or something. xD I've never really been into 'Make a home-made present' thing, but I might try it this year. :D I'm really into arts and crafts now, new five-minute obsession. :P

For Christmas, I want a Wii U, a Skylander's game and above everything else, toys. I wanna keep in touch with my childhood and nothing makes me happier then snuggling up with my toy monkey and watching Poirot. :D

So yeah, I just want toys, a Wii U and something like Skylander's: Spyro's Adventure. >:D (and i have ways to gettum, huehuehue)

I have a job now, so people are going to be expecting presents from me this year. This wouldn't be a problem if I weren't the worst present shopper in the world, haha.

As for what I want, a new microwave and an I-pod touch would be pretty sweet. Besides that, money is always an option, and a LoL game card wouldn't hurt. Mt wish list has gotten shorter every year, and it's only a couple items this year. I guess I'm just content with what I have, which is nice.

My family is traveling across the country to New York for Christmas to spend time with my dad's side of the family. I haven't seen them for a couple years, so I'm looking forward to it. However, traveling is always such a pain, so I'm not looking forward to the actual journey over there.
