To stay, or not to stay? That is the question...

I'll only leave when I'm bored and I don't think that will happen any soon. The first four years are the worst, once you decide to stay after that long, it's hard for you to quit XD
 
I've considered leaving several times before now but every time I just think... "why?". I don't have any reason to leave and I like being here. I think the only reason why I'd leave, as far as I can tell now anyway, is because offline life would become too busy to support PC. And if that happens then it happens but I don't see it happening any time soon.
 
Probably won't come as a surprise to some but in the last few months I've definitely considered quitting & leaving the forum altogether, but for the most part, I'm 99% sure that if I did quit I'd 1, not be a mod again if I were to ever return, 2, most likely be bored because everything will have changed.

I mean, I left for a month in 2008 and a lot changed here. So much changes month to month and instead of leaving the forum I want to kind of realise that the past happened, yes, and while thinking about past mistakes may make me want to get away... I just can't. Like not after this long - PC's been there for me when I've been growing up and I feel like I'll always be a part of it in some way or another. So while leaving is kinda tempting because sometimes things do drive me crazy, I just might as well stay until the end. A month break would always be a good thing, though. Actually the more thinking of it the more tempting it is. HMMM.
 
This is the first Pokemon forum I've actually stuck with for a longer period of time, so likely not anytime soon. I feel like this place has everything I look for in a forum (good staff, really amazing themes, active community) so the only time I'd consider leaving is when all three of those disappear from the site (which won't happen anytime soon). XD;

Well, this is a forum, and seeing as you're reading this, unless you're a guest, you have an account here, and come here to post, etc. But nothing in life's forever, and eventually, maybe, we all shall move on to bigger and better stuff. I joined about 4 years ago, and a lot of the people I knew back then left PC, and never came back. Good friends too. I've often wondered if I'd follow in their footsteps. I've come close, too, a couple of times. But I'm still here. =]

So, my questions for you today, PC, are:

1)Have you ever left PC? If so, for how long, and why?

2)If you haven't, what's kept you here?

3)Have YOU ever thought of leaving?

4)Will you leave on day, and if you do, will it be abrupt, or would you stop to say farewell?

5)Anything personal you'd like to say? I dunno like what, but anything you can think of, put 'em here.
 
1) I've had reduced activity for exams and took a DLoA once when I was ill from stress and got ordered to, but that's it :3

2) It's just such a fun place to be! And I don't know what I'd do without my Pokémon Clubs members x]

3) Not by choice, no. :3

4) Ermm... I don't really know until the day comes, but I like to think I'd give people notice and say my good-byes to those who I know it'll effect, but I'm certain I'll find ways to stay in touch with these people anyway. :3

5) Umm... Not really? xD I guess it's the awesome members that make PC what it is and I'm delighted to be a part of that c:

Never left PC, it's far too soon to be thinking of that.

2)If you haven't, what's kept you here?

It's a great community, people are friendly and such, and you are never looked down, Unlike the place I was at before.

3)Have YOU ever thought of leaving?

Never, how could I leave a community which has been very friendly to me since I got here?

4)Will you leave on day, and if you do, will it be abrupt, or would you stop to say farewell?

If real life gets in the way, then it might only be for a short while. I don't quite understand what you mean by "leave on day".

5)Anything personal you'd like to say? I dunno like what, but anything you can think of, put 'em here.

Not really sure what to say, except the stuff I have said above. I have gotten more friends here in the last 3 months than I have done over at the other place in the last 3 years. I know it sounds like bashing, but I'm trying to state the truth, no matter how much it hurts.
 
1) Since my joining in 2011 (though I've known about the site for a few years and had an old account from 2006 that was barely used), I've never left.

2) I like the community and themes. Also, the staff are really helpful. But wow, PC really does satisfy my need for eyecandy layouts so it's hard to even consider leaving <3 ;; they're amazing.

3) Nope, not yet.

4) I'm pretty sure we'll all leave some day haha. I'm the type that doesn't like to announce my leave though since I'm shy, so at most I'd make a blog or disable VMs and write out that I left in my profile's bio section.

2. I stayed here because it felt like an alternative to BMGf for me.

3. No, not really. I can't think of a reason to leave here.

4. If I left, I'd put up a farewell blog first, then leave. I don't want to be worried about.

Nah, I haven't taken more than one day off of PC since I joined haha. I can usually take some time out of my day to be on PC.

2)If you haven't, what's kept you here?
I just...enjoy my time here. I enjoy the friends and I enjoy hearing the news on games and such first and I enjoy the atmosphere.

Yeah, never have but thought of it. Never really that seriously though.

4)Will you leave on day, and if you do, will it be abrupt, or would you stop to say farewell?
Everyone leaves eventually, although I think neither of those options will apply to me. I'll just start drifting away and not logging on much, and it won't be a special "let me say goodbye to all my friends" thing, I'll just drift away and not be here anymore.

I've never left long-term. I've had a couple of short-ish leaves of absence when offline life's taken over but never went away for a long time, although I've had other accounts before this one which were inactive for a long time before I made this one if it counts.

2)If you haven't, what's kept you here?

My friends here, it giving me something to do, etc. I usually find one thing or another to do here or someone to talk to or whatever so I just stay.

3)Have YOU ever thought of leaving?

Yeah, a few times, seriously on occasion but never thought of leaving for long enough to follow through with it. I occasionally think "ehhh it's kinda pointless" when I'm feeling down or whatever but I realise it's worth staying in the end.

4)Will you leave on day, and if you do, will it be abrupt, or would you stop to say farewell?

Everyone's gonna leave some day. I just don't know when I'll leave yet, and how I leave depends on circumstances. I'll just fade out kinda slowly if I'm not on staff when I decide to leave, and if I am on staff, I'll probably make a goodbye blog to tell people who are curious where I'm going and then fade out as a normal member.

Twice, I guess? The first time, I joined and was active for a few weeks but then school started back up and I forgot about the place. Rejoined (since the board switched software in the interim) several months later. The second time, I was a bit fed up with things on the staff and I needed a break so I quit for a few weeks and I barely visited (and not often at all while logged in) during that time span.

2) If you haven't, what's kept you here?
Ultimately what keeps me here is the atmosphere. People I know have come and gone, even forums I like have disappeared on me... but there's just something about PC that I really love. When I can't visit for a while or when I start to get overwhelmed and feel like I can't make time for it, I get legitimately sad. I really enjoy my time here.

3) Have YOU ever thought of leaving?
Most recently I thought of quitting and seeing what would happen--and even took a DLoA to test it--back in December. Didn't end up quitting and leaving was certainly not on my radar.

4) Will you leave on day, and if you do, will it be abrupt, or would you stop to say farewell?
If/when I leave one day, it will most definitely be a gradual thing. I'll slowly stop visiting as often until I eventually realize that I'm just not showing up anymore. I'd definitely stop in from time to time, though. Old members who return for a while get tons of glory. :P

Yes. I've left twice I think. About six years back I got a bit overwhelmed with drama in my life and needed to focus on fixing those. More recently I left for about two plus years to just focus on and experience life without having to worry about coming here.

2)If you haven't, what's kept you here?
I tend to come back because of how nostalgic I am. Nothing will ever beat that first summer I was a member of PC. You yearn for it to come back, but deep down you know it never will.

3)Have YOU ever thought of leaving?
Numerous times.

4)Will you leave on day, and if you do, will it be abrupt, or would you stop to say farewell?
Of course I will. It's only natural to leave things behind in your life, no matter how dear the may be to you. Not sure how it will happen; probably one of those things where it just does.

Yes, five-seven months. Bored and rl took priority over PC.

Yes, once so far. I had too much of real life to deal with. It was only for a few week, so no one probably noticed.

For one, I haven't only been here for a really long time. I've only been on here for 3 and a half months(weird it feels like it's been six), but I love this place too much to go so soon.

No not really, unless I really have to. There are time it gets boring, but I haven't left yet.

Not seriously though. Eventually things will probably get in the way, I'll have less time for forums. I might pop in and out every once a while and then never. If I do officially leave, I'll probably be able to blog by then, and I would make a blog about it and hope someone sees it.

2. a. The people. I don't talk to a lot of people on here, at most 3 on a regular basis, but I love the different personalities on this site. Plus, I really love Pokemon, and enjoy talking about it. Most of my time is spent in the Black 2 and White 2 section.

3. Naw. I'm not leaving. I've been less active due to work, but never gonna leave.

4. I'm sure I will in the very VERY late future when I have grandchildren, but until then, I'm here to stay. And I'll make a big announcement about it a few days before.

Sorry I'm so late in getting to this, I've had a very busy day and haven't had much time to check over OVP. But uh... there is already a thread on the subject of staying and leaving PokeCommunity. Since I was so late and so many people have already replied to this one, I'll just merge them XD
